Alto Saxophone,Piano - Level 2 - SKU: A0.549015 Composed by Franz Schubert. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Holiday,Romantic Period,Sacred,Standards. Score and part. 10 pages. Jmsgu3 #3447439. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549015). Alto Sax version of Moment Musicaux, Op. 94 (D. 780) No. 3 by Franz Schubert, published in 1828. Duration: 1:53 Score 6 pg. 54 ms. Alto Sax 1 pg. Piano part 3 pg. One of Schubert's most well-known pieces. This is an effective recital encore due to its brevity and range of expression. Could work well for a variety of occasions: wedding receptions, church services (Easter), and anniversaries. It seems like a pleasant dance, unlike some previous dance music. Schubert improvised these dances at parties for his friends.  Although conceived on-the-fly, these dances are the work of a genius. Composers have similarly elevated dance music to artistic status. As a result, they freed it from the original purpose of dancing. Certainly, the older masters used the dance forms as vehicles for complex treatments. Here, however, Schubert retains the dance-like quality while finally expressing his innermost thoughts and emotions. The dance is certainly filled with a doleful expression, yet the texture remains even more light and refined. Therefore, to perform these with sensitivity we probably need to use a light but accurate touch. The accompaniment pattern needs to be crisp and delicate – probably even in the more forceful parts. The piano pedal should also be used very carefully so as a result not to blur the outline. Instead, it should contribute to the dynamic quality of the piece. Schubert Franz Schubert (1797–1828) was, in fact, a famous Austrian composer. Moreover, he composed during the late Classical and early Romantic periods. Schubert was comparatively prolific. He wrote more than 600 secular vocal works, seven symphonies, and, correspondingly, a massive amount of piano and chamber music. Critics agree, as a matter of fact, that his most famous works include his Piano Quintet in A major, D. 667 (also known as the Trout Quintet), the Symphony No. 8 in B minor, D. 759 (Unfinished Symphony), the last sonatas for piano (D. 958–960), and the song cycles Die schöne Müllerin (D. 795) and Winterreise (D. 911). Education Schubert was furthermore a musical child prodigy. He studied violin with his father as well as piano with his older brother. In addition, when Schubert was eleven he studied at Stadtkonvikt school, where he became familiar with the orchestral music of Haydn, Mozart, and likewise Beethoven. In due time he left school and returned home where he studied to become an educator; nevertheless, he continued studying composition with Antonio Salieri. Performance Eventually, Schubert was admitted to the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde as a performer. This appointment straightaway established his name in Vienna as a composer and pianist. Finally, he gave his only composition recital in 1828. He died suddenly a few months later probably due to typhoid fever. Legacy Schubert’s music was by and large underappreciated while he was alive. There were all in all only a few enthusiasts in Vienna. After he died, however, interest in his work in fact increased. Felix Mendelssohn, Robert Schumann, Franz Liszt, Johannes Brahms, and other famous composers in due time discovered his compositions. Nowadays, historians rank Schubert expressly among the greatest composers of the era, and his music remains in general very popular.

Baritone Saxophone,Piano - Level 2 - SKU: A0.549018 Composed by Franz Schubert. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Holiday,Romantic Period,Sacred,Standards. Score and part. 10 pages. Jmsgu3 #3447449. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549018). Baritone Sax version of Moment Musicaux, Op. 94 (D. 780) No. 3 by Franz Schubert, published in 1828. Duration: 1:53 Score 6 pg. 54 ms. Bari Sax 1 pg. Piano Solo - Level 3 - SKU: A0.818283 By Stephen R Dalrymple. By Franz Joseph Haydn. Arranged by edited by Stephen R Dalrymple (Dalrymple Designs). Classical. Score. 14 pages. Stephen R Dalrymple #4967139. Published by Stephen R Dalrymple (A0.818283). Piano Sonata 40.2 Presto (Classical Music for Tablet Series) Franz Joseph Haydn was born in 1732 in a small village in Austria, near the Hungarian border. ♫ His father was a wheelwright and a leader of the town. His mother had been a cook in the palace of a Count. His father had taught himself to play the harp. His family was musical and often sang together (16 brothers and sisters). His father saw that he was extremely musical and that he couldn’t get the education he needed in his little village. When he was 6 years old, he was sent to the home of a relative about 7 miles away to study to be a musician. He never lived with his parents again. ♫ In 1752 he was employed by Count Karl Joseph Morzin, leading the Count’s small orchestra and writing the first of his symphonies. ♫ In 1760 he married Maria Keller. They had a very unhappy marriage, producing no children. ♫ In 1760 Count Paul Andre Esterhazy (one of the wealthiest and most important nobles in the Austrian empire) hired him as assistant director of music. In 1766 at the age of 34, Prince Nikolaus Esterhazy appointed Haydn his Director of Music. His job was divided between the Esterhazy palace in Austria their palace across the border Hungary. ♫ Haydn dedicated Piano Sonata 40 to Princess Marie Esterhazy. He worked for the Esterhazys for the next 28 years, writing hundreds of pieces of music for the prince. After about 15 years, he signed a new contract allowing him to write music for other customers. Haydn’s reputation grew to international fame. ♫ Haydn wrote 104 Symphonies. (Some count 107.) Not unlike George Washington, nicknamed the “Father of our Countryâ€, yet had no children, Haydn is known as the “Father of the Symphony.†and the “Father of the string Quartet.†♫ Napoleon captured Vienna in 1809. Napoleon, himself, ordered an honor guard be placed at Haydn’s home where Haydn lay dying. ♫ The Classical Music for Tablet Series offers piano masterworks by classical composers formatted to be read on 10 inch tablets. I use an Amazon Kindle with Mobile Sheets Pro and an Air Turn blue tooth foot pedal to practice and perform piano music. Similar products available to provide other tablets the same functionality. ♫ The pieces in this series have not been arranged, but most have been edited slightly, and have been formatted to fit this screen size. For example, in the tablet versions, first and second endings are often removed and the repeated measures and endings written into the music so the performer can avoid having to go back to previous pages. These kinds of section repeats were invented to spare the composer’s time and the cost of extra paper and ink. But with a tablet the cost of paper and ink is irrelevant. ♫ Although there are a lot more page turns with a 10 inch screen compared with letter size pages, the readability of the music (due to the backlighting on the tablet) and the portability of the music (travelling with a small tablet instead of oversized books or portfolios of sheet music) easily makes up for the extra page turns. ♫ Your purchase provides one .pdf file that contains both the tablet edition and the letter size page (printable) version. There are several programs available online that will allow you to separate this .pdf file into 2 .pdf files to make it more useful.

(B33) was first written as Piano Sonata No.1 [B12] in late 1981. It was revised into a string quartet in January 1990. There are four movements, and all the thematic material, whether tonal, atonal or serial is derived from the music of the first seven bars. After this opening, the first movement is written in a straightforward sonata form, using a mixture of tonal and serial themes in constantly changing rhythms. The second movement Adagio also contrasts tonal and serial themes, while the third movement is a short scherzo and trio, with an atonal motif in the scherzo being treated in simple rhythms. A lyrical variation of the main theme of the slow movement is used for the trio, and develops further into a simple diatonic tune. The last movement is a kaleidoscopic treatment of the preceding thematic material, together with further variations and short contrapuntal passages, to give the effect of a rondo. The motif from the beginning of the whole work then returns as a coda to unify the quartet. The Score and Parts are available on this site as separate downloads The sound sample is the second movement - performed by the Lochrian Ensemble The complete 6 string quartets performed by the Lochrian Ensemble are available on itunes: see: http://www.dwsolo.com/colinbayliss/ and for this particular quartet: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/colin-bayliss-string-quartet/id573541672.

ISBN 9781619118898.
If youave ever felt compelled to play Flight of the Bumblebee on the 5-string banjo, this is the book for you!Challenging banjo transcriptions of classical masterpieces may seem like a humorous anachronism to some, but not for Italian master Claudio Parravicini, a conservatory graduate who, while majoring in French horn, always believed that the banjo was aa virtuoso instrument capable of enriching any musical genre.aIn the authoras words, aI chose the classical pieces in this book on the basis of how they might advance right and left-hand banjo technique and even refine the playeras musical sensibilitya\| Some pieces, like Flight of the Bumblebee will challenge your ability to play rapidly, while others like Beethovenas Moonlight Sonata, are much slower, but will test your musical abilities in other ways.a The other pieces in the book are: Prelude No. 2 in C minor and Inventions No. 4 and No. 6 by J. S. Bach, Flight of the Bumblebee by Korsakov, Perpetual Motion and Carnival of Venice by Paganini, and Toccata for Piano or Harpsichord by Paradisi. Classical Masterpieces for Banjo is written in tablature only in standard G tuning [gDGBD] using three-finger banjo technique in the traditional, melodic and single-string style. Each selection is guaranteed to further your technique and delight your audience, or simply expand your vision of what is possible on the 5-string banjo.
