Voice, recorder and percussion - Minor: Dominant and Subdominant Triads. Arranged by Margaret Murray. This edition: score for voice and/or instruments. Orff- Schulwerk. Downloadable. Op. 5. Schott Music - Digital #Q49516. Published by Schott Music - Digital
English.
Carl Orff devoted much of his life to the development of a philosophy of Music for Children, based on his belief that music is the natural outcome of speech, rhythm and movement. His ideas and pioneering work have had a major influence on music and dance education throughout the world and today that work continues under the guidance of leading teachers and educators in many countries. The five basic German volumes of Music for Children by Carl Orff and Gunild Keetman were published between 1950 and 1954. Editions have since been published in Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Czechoslovakia, Denmark, Estonia, France, Ghana, Great Britain (including a special Welsh edition), Greece, Italy, Japan, Korea, Latin-America, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan and the USA. In 1952 the first edition in translation appeared an English language adaptation by Doreen Hall and Arnold Walter for their Canadian and American students. A few years later, Margaret Murray independently developed a version (1957-1966), essentially to fulfil the needs of United Kingdom teachers. Inevitably the considerable growth of Orff-Schulwerk in the United States led to the publication of the American Edition (1977) to satisfy the requirements of a different educational system and national heritage. Orff-Schulwerk: Music for Children has proved itself to be a stimulating source of material for music teaching. Carl Orff's fundamental educational ideas have revitalized music education in nursery schools, at all levels of primary and secondary education and in special music schools, based on the concepts that: - music, dance and language are inter-related and animated through rhythm. - when children discover, invent, improvise and compose, their experience of music is intensified. These creative activities are complementary to those of interpreting and listening to music. - all who take part are encouraged to contribute, not only vocally but also instrumentally. - the Orff approach to music education is many sided. it is concerned with practical music-making, it provides fundamental experiences and it lays the foundation for a comprehensive musical training. - movement games and activities for body awareness in space, time and flow, lead to movement improvisation and dance forms. - music and dance have been notated in many different ways in history. Various ways of writing down sounds and music, as well as playing from and interpreting different kinds of sources are being explored. Today, countless teachers and institutions are using these ideas. More and more teachers look for ways of involving their students in active music making. In particular, they seek to challenge their pupils' creativity by the use of music, dance and speech - as media of human expression - as a foundation of all education. A prerequisite for work in Orff-Schulwerk is the artistic and pedagogical training of teachers. The Orff Institute was founded in 1961 as a Department of the 'Mozarteum', in Salzburg, Austria. Training offered includes a four-year diploma course, a two-year post-graduate course, and a one-year-course in English. At the opening of the Orff Institute in Salzburg in 1963, Carl Orff ended his speech with a quotation from Schiller: 'I have done my part, now do yours.' That challenge has been taken up by teachers worldwide. Murray Edition English adaption, with additional material, by Margaret Murray. Besed on, and containing all the rhythmic and instrumental material from the main five volumes of the original German edition. Contents of this fifth volume: Songs and pieces making further use of the modes introduced in Vol. 4, with the addition of the more usual forms of the minor scale with the sharpened seventh. The settings of short dramatic scenes concludes the book.

Concert Band - Level 1 - SKU: A0.563350 Composed by Austin Ralphson. Instructional,Latin,Multicultural,World. Score and Parts. 188 pages. Austin Ralphson #3561245. Published by Austin Ralphson (A0.563350). The Mixed Abilities School Ensemble Series ** For the complete pack of pieces in this series, get a great bulk saving at https://www.sheetmusicplus.com/title/mixed-abilities-classroom-ensemble-pack-extra-value-bundle-of-music-for-school-groups-digital-sheet-music/20768644?ac=1&aff_id=559837 ** Children (and adults) who learn a musical instrument will always progress at different rates.Students also develop some of the many skills involved in instrumental playing faster than other skills. The Mixed Abilities School Ensemble Series has the flexibility to allow pupils of different standards to play together in one ensemble (up to five parts). It also encourages students to develop improvisation skills by providing soloing opportunities within all parts, with suggested pitches for improvising. Each piece has five different parts which are split into four ability levels as follows: A – Range of about 5 notes, easy rhythms. B – Range of about 1 octave, basic rhythms. C – Range of about a 12th, some more difficult rhythms. D – Range of about 2 octaves, some rhythmic complexity. This enables the teacher to select parts which are suitable for the standard of individual players in the group. As a general rule, the pieces have been composed as follows: Part 1 – melody / countermelody (alternates with Part 2) Part 2 – melody / countermelody (alternates with Part 1) Part 3 – accompaniment (synchronises with Part 4) Part 4 –accompaniment (synchronises with Part 3) Part 5 – bass line (independent) Each part also comes in a wide array of transpositions, clefs and pitches. Hence, almost any combination of instruments can play together in an ensemble of mixed abilities, including: Flutes, clarinets, saxophones, mixed woodwind, trumpets, mixed brass (including brass band), violins, strings, keyboards/pianos, tuned percussion. An ensemble using any combination of instruments (as is often found within schools) will work effectively as well. Example: A quintet might be selected as follows: 1A (violin), 2C(trumpet), 3B (clarinet), 4B (tenor sax), 5D (trombone) The melody in 1A would be very simple but would contrast nicely when passed to the more difficult 2C. Parts 3B and 4B will have quite a simple accompaniment between them, whilst the bass line on 5D will be more complex and rhythmically interesting. Parts can obviously be doubled up as well beyond five players. Please note that the teacher of the ensemble should be careful to pick parts which are well-suited to the players’ abilities. CRAZY LATIN! is the second piece in this series, and has additional parts for Latin percussion commonly found in the classroom. Suggested percussion rhythms are also provided with phrases by which students can remember the rhythms. You are obviously free to alter these in any way, or add additional instruments however. Please listen to the mp3 file, which is an electronic example of the piece being played with glockenspiel on 1C, piano on 2B, xylophone on 3B, clarinet on 4A and 'cello on 5D. Score and all parts are included here in a variety of pitches, clefs and transpositions. It is the complete package! IT'S TIME FOR REGGAE is the third piece in this series, and has typical characteristics of the style, including the off-beat rhythm in parts 3 and 4, and the bass line which becomes more fluid in the more difficult part 5s. You could also have a drummer play an authentic 'one-drop' rhythm with the kick and side-stick both on 2 and 4. Please listen to the mp3 file, which is an electronic example of the piece being played with a typical setup. Score and all parts are included here in a variety of pitches, clefs and transpositions. Each part also comes in a wide array of transpositions, clefs and pitches. Hence, almost any combination of instruments can play together in an ensemble of mixed abilities, including:
Flutes, clarinets, saxophones, mixed woodwind, trumpets, mixed brass (including brass band), violins, strings, keyboards/pianos, tuned percussion.
An ensemble using any combination of instruments (as is often found within schools) will work effectively as well.
Example: A quintet might be selected as follows:
1A (violin), 2C(trumpet), 3B (clarinet), 4B (tenor sax), 5D (trombone)
The melody in 1A would be very simple but would contrast nicely when passed to the more difficult 2C. Parts 3B and 4B will have quite a simple accompaniment between them, whilst the bass line on 5D will be more complex and rhythmically interesting. Parts can obviously be doubled up as well beyond five players.
Please note that the teacher of the ensemble should be careful to pick parts which are well-suited to the players? abilities.
This pack includes all four pieces in the series (volumes 1 and 2) as follows:
BANANA BLUES is a 12-bar Blues piece
CRAZY LATIN! has additional parts for Latin percussion commonly found in the classroom
IT'S TIME FOR REGGAE! is a reggae piece
FEEL THE FUNK brings funky, James Brown-esque rhythms into the classroom.
Please listen to the mp3 file, which is an electronic example of a typical classroom setup.
Score and all parts are included here in a variety of pitches, clefs and transpositions. It is the complete package with over 680 pages of music, representing a massive saving on individual purchase prices.
5 Christmas pieces:
Each piece is arranged into 13 different parts which cater for the large majority of musicians within school. These include:
* a variety of difficulties in C, B flat, E flat, higher octave for flutes and alto clef for violas
* easy and standard bass parts in treble and bass clefs, and also in B flat and E flat for saxophones or brass band players
* very easy violin and viola parts on open strings only
* easy and standard piano parts
* ukulele part in tab, chord patterns and chord letters
* guitar part in tab, chord patterns and chord letters
* general chord plan in chord letters
Teachers / band leaders can select the parts which are most appropriate for their students. The music is intended to be repeated a number of times, with different parts coming in and out for each repeat to create variety.

Voice, recorder and percussion - SKU: S9.Q53825 Major: Dominant and Subdominant Triads. Arranged by Margaret Murray. This edition: score for voice and/or instruments. Orchestration - Orff Schulwerk - keys. Orff-Schulwerk. Downloadable, Vocal and performing score. Op. 3. Schott Music - Digital #Q53825. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q53825). English.Carl Orff devoted much of his life to the development of a philosophy of Music for Children, based on his belief that music is the natural outcome of speech, rhythm and movement. - the Orff approach to music education is many sided; it is concerned with practical music-making, it provides fundamental experiences and it lays the foundation for a comprehensive musical training. Contents of this third volume: The instrumentation and range of keys are inceased. The settings include the chords on the fourth and fifth notes of the major scale.

The show won Best Musical, Book, and Score at the 2004 Tony Awards. The musical premiered Off-Broadway in 2003 at the Vineyard Theatre, co-produced by the Vineyard Theatre and The New Group. In July of that same year, the show moved to the John Golden Theatre on Broadway, where it ran until 2009, playing for over 2,500 performances. “There is Life Outside Your Apartment†is a fan favorite song from the second act of the musical, and it has been re-orchestrated for full concert band while still preserving the playful style and authentic musicality from the original. With the use of an Acme Mouth Siren and a large titanium panel (or sheet metal that can be whacked by a mallet), percussionists can recreate the “city†sound effects that were featured in the original musical production and the use of alternative playing techniques and mutes in the brass contributes to the playful atmosphere. The piece has an intime atmosphere very common in chamber music. Very easy to perform and very flexible, it is ideal for schools or when various kinds of mixed ensembles are taking place. With very few effort from the players, it has a large effect on the audience. As I said the piece is very flexible, for exemple the shakuhachi flute can be replaced by a soprano recorder or any other kind of flute with a similar register. A piano could eventually replace the harp. Due to a certain Tutti caracter on the string section, more violins, violas and cellos would easily join the group. One Cello or Double Bass „Pizzicato could reenforce the left hand on the harp part. Other wise and when possible, it should be performed as written. I also have added some interpretation symbols like fortes and pianos but only as a personal suggestion for an interpretation. Of course the artists must decide how they prefer to perform the piece and should have the last word on their performances. The score was written on Finale. The sound file For the 2018 Chamber Music Contest Entry, was performed with samplers from Garritan and conceived as an audio support for the presentation of the score. This is the first time that this version is published in Sheet Music Plus or anywhere else! This piece was inspired by some aspects of western, eastern, African and american cultures. The list of inspiring human phenomena and achievement within art and music never find an end. There is so much to learn! For now let the World play music. Music is the ultimate Universal language. Imagine we all playing music with each other. The World full of music schools and instruments instead of military camps and weapons. Millions of beautiful people with music instruments in their hands playing music with each other all around the World. Our war lords would start opening music shops for a change. And we would live much happier!!! Music Can Save The World Thanks to Claudia Eppelt for the cover design, all the Love and inspiration. Special Thanks to Nina and Stray Queen Mimi for my Family, all their Love Patience and Compassion. True Love Forever. Thank you very much for taking your time to read this text and to listen to the file.I hope you have a lot of fun and enjoy the music.Love ForeverSheers! Luis Anjos Teixeira

The Mixed Abilities School Ensemble Series
** For the complete pack of pieces in this series, get a great bulk saving at https://tinyurl.com/y9j2fxa4 (copy and paste into new tab)**
Children (and adults) who learn a musical instrument will always progress at different rates.Students also develop some of the many skills involved in instrumental playing faster than other skills.
The Mixed Abilities School Ensemble Series has the flexibility to allow pupils of different standards to play together in one ensemble (up to five parts). It also encourages students to develop improvisation skills by providing soloing opportunities within all parts, with suggested pitches for improvising.
Each piece has five different parts which are split into four ability levels as follows:
A ? Range of about 5 notes, easy rhythms. B ? Range of about 1 octave, basic rhythms. C ? Range of about a 12th, some more difficult rhythms. D ? Range of about 2 octaves, some rhythmic complexity.
This enables the teacher to select parts which are suitable for the standard of individual players in the group. As a general rule, the pieces have been composed as follows:
Part 1 ? melody / countermelody (alternates with Part 2)
Part 2 ? melody / countermelody (alternates with Part 1)
Part 3 ? accompaniment (synchronises with Part 4)
Part 4 ?accompaniment (synchronises with Part 3)
Part 5 ? bass line (independent)
Please note that the teacher of the ensemble should be careful to pick parts which are well-suited to the players? abilities.
FEEL THE FUNK is the fourth piece in this series, and has typical characteristics of the style including chromatic leading notes in parts 3 and 4, a catchy riff and a bass line which is quite syncopated in the more difficult part 5s. You could also have a drummer play an authentic funk rhythm, or even a basic rock would do (tightly-closed hi-hat though).
Please listen to the mp3 file, which is an electronic example of the piece being played with a typical setup.
Score and all parts are included here in a variety of pitches, clefs and transpositions. It is the complete package!

Published by HMS Music (A0.1431754). _______________________JOURNEY OF THE MAGI is a tasteful, restrained, and plaintive arrangement of We Three Kings in A-A-B form. Simple harmonization, limited ranges, and basic rhythms ensure success and enjoyment for both the musicians and the audience. The work creates a musical picture of a slow-moving camel caravan crossing a desert. This is a work you will continue to use for years to come. And with the license to copy all the parts you ever need, you can let the students keep their parts as souvenirs and just print new ones the next time!LEVEL: Appropriate for 2nd-/3rd-year players or advanced beginners. (BcP-YB) PROGRAMMING:Winter/Christmas concertModerately slow tempo provides nice contrast with faster works. FEATURES:Melody distributed through all wind parts.Simple but effective percussion parts.Programmatic nature of the work allows students to begin learning expressiveness. CHALLENGES:Dynamics (long crescendo and decrescendo challenges young players to support the tone and intonation)Legato playingBalanceSolos (Two solos, each consisting of 2 quarter-notes, are optionally doubled with other instruments)Multi-percussion playing KEY and RANGES: C minor and E-flat majorStandard 1st-year ranges: Flute to B-flat above staff; Clarinets remain below break; Trumpet to third-space C; Horn from 2nd-line G to low G; Trombone to B-flat on top of staff; Tuba to C below staff. Clarinet is divided into separate 1st and 2nd parts; all others (except percussion) are undivided. MINIMUM INSTRUMENTATION REQUIREMENTS: Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet, Bass Line*, and 3 Percussion (easy rhythms) *At least one of the following: Bassoon, Bass Clarinet, Horn, Trombone, Baritone, or Tuba PERCUSSION: Utilizes three separate multi-percussion set-ups:Percussion 1 = Bells, Finger Cymbals, Tom-tomPercussion 2 = Tambourine, Suspended Cymbal 1, Bass DrumPercussion 3 = Triangle, Suspended Cymbal 2, Bass Drum (can share same bass drum with Perc. 2). These percussion parts are simple, using only quarter-, half-, and dotted-half notes (slow eighth-notes in the Tambourine), and provide the rhythmic ostinato upon which the work progresses. The parts can easily be divided to provide playing opportunities for up to 8 percussionists. Or use three sets of finger cymbals (sounds even better) and accommodate up to 10 players!- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -COMPOSER/ARRANGER: Now retired, Brian Harris holds the Ph.D. in Music Education from the Florida State University and was a public school and college band director for over 30 years. ___________________________Click here to view other Winter / Christmas Concert works from Bandroom.com Publications:Joy to the King (for beginners; super easy)Jingle Those Bells! Acoustic Guitar,Bass Clef Instrument,Bass Guitar,Drums,Electric Guitar,Keyboard,Treble Clef Instrument - Level 3 - SKU: A0.1395894 By Taco. By Irving Berlin. Arranged by David Woodcock. 20th Century,Broadway,Instructional,Musical/Show,Singer/Songwriter,Standards. 16 pages. David Woodcock #979271. Published by David Woodcock (A0.1395894). This is an arrangement of the famous song by Irving Berlin, scored for flexible ensemble in A. It is also available in G. This series has been specifically designed to meet the requirements of the ever-changing ensemble combinations that primary and secondary schools and other instrumental ensembles face. Â Because certain instruments are more comfortable in playing in certain keys, each work will be offered in two keys. This should allow for the music director to choose the key most suitable for the instrumental combination. Each piece consists of five core instrumental parts: 2 treble, 1 alto, tenor and bass. All parts will have a number of transpositions suitable for the instruments that are capable of playing those parts, eg, Part 2 will have parts for violin, B flat clarinet and trumpet, and E flat alto sax. Â This will save music directors' time in having to write out additional parts. Optional parts are included for tuned and untuned percussion, guitar (chords) and bass guitar (notation and TAB), a keyboard part appropriate to the difficulty level, and a rehearsal piano part which is a fuller realisation of the piece and could be played by a more advanced student or the music director. If the numbers of players on each part allows, the music director can feel free to 'solo' instruments and vary the orchestration, especially on repeats, to create variety in instrumental colour.

All parts will have a number of transpositions suitable for the instruments that are capable of playing those parts, eg, Part 2 will have parts for violin, B flat clarinet and trumpet, and E flat alto sax.  This will save music directors' time in having to write out additional parts.
