Instrumental Solo,Saxophone - Level 4 - SKU: A0.983172 Composed by Craig Wadley. 21st Century,Contemporary,Contest,Festival,Halloween. Individual part. 18 pages. Wadley Publications #4638491. Published by Wadley Publications (A0.983172). Nevermore for Unaccompanied Saxophone by Craig Wadley. As this is an unaccompanied piece, ANY saxophone is acceptable. While most soloists will undoubtedly opt to use alto or soprano, the composer welcomes renditions of this piece on any of the larger saxes as well. This piece was inspired by Nevermore: An Evening With Edgar Allen Poe, a single act play featuring Jeffrey Combs. My good friend, Dr. Brent Bristow of Arkansas State University, Beebe, convinced me to go see the play when it was presented there in March of 2018. That performance by the legendary Mr. Combs inspired this piece. Why unaccompanied saxophone? Brent Bristow and I have been close friends since high school, and since he is the one who convinced me to see this show, and given that he plays classical saxophone (yes, that IS a thing!), I figured saxophone would kill two birds with one reed… or something like that. The show itself is a one-man performance, so that’s why this piece is unaccompanied. I toyed with the notion of including some text from the show. Eventually, I decided to go with The Raven, which is featured prominently in Combs’ monologue. But I didn’t want to RELY on The Raven, so I wrote the piece in such a way that it can be performed with OR without the narrator. I took a bit of inspiration from Bach’s cello music and brought in some more modern elements such as shifting meters and limited use of slap-tongue and multiphonics to keep things interesting. No altissimo is used. This work would make for excellent solo repertoire at the collegiate level, while still being potentially accessible to advanced high school players. If the narrator is used, this work would also be great as part of a Halloween/horror variety show! You may note that the mp3 demo preview uses a cello sound (placing the transposition in the range of the baritone sax, though again, any saxophone is acceptable). A cello sound is used because samples of saxophone sounds generally leave much to be desired, and they are most commonly based on jazz tone qualities which would be completely inappropriate for this piece.

Guitar - Advanced - SKU: ZZ.DZ-4308 Composed by Giorgio Mirto. Score. 24 pages. Les Productions d'OZ - Digital #DZ 4308. Published by Les Productions d'OZ - Digital (ZZ.DZ-4308). Following a recent experience on the jury of a guitar competition, I noted with great pleasure that Giorgio Mirto, with whom I had shared the role of juror, wanted to celebrate the experience of the competition - during from which we discovered that we had had a great affinity of thought - with something which could endure over time and not evaporate as often happens in short and occasional meetings between musicians. He did it as a true composer, which he is, and dedicated to me a very beautifully crafted Suite to which I allowed myself to collaborate at least formally, by suggesting titles for the four movements. This is how Suite n.1 was born, a piece that does not strictly respect the formal rules of the Baroque era, but reinterprets and reuses them in a new key. The work's obvious late Baroque inspiration led me to find titles that invited the performer to delve deeper into the work's aesthetic inspiration. So I suggested to Giorgio that he title the four movements with something that linked their content to four greats of the 18th century. German masters. The prelude has thus become from Eisenach because of its sometimes improvised Bach-like atmosphere, the second movement, vaguely toccata, speaks an organ language in the manner of Buxtehude (who lived in Lübeck), the slow movement has a Handelian quality - and Handel was born in Halle - and the last movement, far from being a true Chaconne, undoubtedly has the latter's taste for variation and ostinato, typical traits of Telemann who lived in Magdeburg. The cities that appear in the titles are therefore indelible to the authors cited. Furthermore, one should not think that the style of the work is in any way German, given that Giorgio Mirto expresses himself in a very joyful language that synthesizes modality with minimalism, all seasoned with a a nod to Pink's progressive rock Floyd. or a Mike Oldfield... The result of this mixture of ideas, inspirations and styles is a work that personally I never tire of reading and rereading, for the freshness that emanates from it and for the climate expressive which rises, nourishing itself with full efficiency. We ultimately cannot ignore that the note B, the one which marks in a minor way some of the most expressive works of the guitar repertoire, from the study of Sor which made generations of students fall in love with the guitar, until to that of Frank Martin's Four Pieces via La Catedral di Barrios, is the modal fulcrum of the entire Suite: it is true that the Prelude begins with a clear chord in E minor and lingers on an open ending in A minor , but it almost seems that the initial E serves as a launching pad for a continuation of the work in which the dominant, that is to say the B, is the true musical North, the pole star which guides us in the other three movements until the end of the Chaconne de Magdebourg. I wish Giorgio and our Suite great longevity and a favorable destiny in the complex and complex world of contemporary guitar composition.

Piano Accompaniment - Level 2 - SKU: A0.1477614 By Stacey Plays Hymns. By Stacey Plays Hymns. Arranged by Anastace. Christian,Praise & Worship,Religious,Sacred. Accompaniment. Duration 235. Anastace #1054994. Published by Anastace (A0.1477614). As of this publishing, over 140,000 people have found my one video collection of funeral hymns on YouTube, not including separate postings of each individual song. Because of this it's been on my mind for a long time to write a funeral song, but it was somehow just never the right time until just a few weeks ago when this one came pouring out in 5 minutes flat [which does not happen often, I can assure you!]. The culmination of years of playing for funerals, a bachelor degree in theology and sacred music, and many more years of writing and playing music through good times and also times full of grief, Lord of All Our Days is my very best and heartfelt attempt to serve those who are also dealing with the absolute heartache of loss, be it the acute, fresh grieving of just losing someone or the flashbacks that come time and time again, years and even decades later. This song carefully and tenderly handles the true earth-shaking grief that it is to lose someone you love, while holding out a strong hope of the life to come for those who trust God. I had a very difficult time recording it without being moved to tears over and over, and I pray it will reach many in need of comfort, being of service to anyone who is looking for a Christian, Biblical funeral hymn for a memorial service or a celebration of life service. Also available, by searching Stacey Plays Hymns and the song title on this site, is an accompaniment track with the full backup vocals as well as the following sheet music versions:Piano Vocal in Bb Minor to match the original recording [vocal range: Bb3-Bb4]Piano Vocal in C Major for easier playing and a better congregational vocal rangeLead Sheet for piano or guitar in C Major - best key for singing without a capoLead Sheet in G minor for piano or guitar [play capo 3 or more to match the original key]For other formats including large print, a different key to match a soloist's preferred range, or piano solo for a matching prelude or postlude, please write me at staceyplayshymns@gmail.com and I'll be glad to make them especially for you. Please let me know if there is any other way I can serve you as a congregation or fellow music/choir director as I endeavour to write several new choral anthems per year, along with my other recording work.Thank you for supporting modern hymnwriters and musicians!

Published by Matthew Nunes Music (A0.1259401). Listen to this piece hereComposer’s NotesI. Capriccio      This lively capriccio features a bouncy melody that is imitated in canon through the other two clarinets. Then the descending fourth motive introduced early is developed in a series of succinct statements. The movement ends with a three part canon with each clarinet racing against the others.  II. Elegy*     After someone leaves our lives there are lingering reminders of the pain of their absence combined with the sweetness of the happiest memories. The middle section represents a flashback to happier times yet the sustained notes hint that something is not quite right. In the end the melody is unable to resolve as it should yet those around it continue on their way.     *Please note that the bass clarinet player should play soprano clarinet for this movement only.  III. Frenetic      This piece would not have been written were it not for the prodding of my friend and fellow composer Felix Rivera. I would joke with him that he may never write a piece not based on tritones and he quipped back that I may never write a piece for clarinets. I decided it was time to fix not having a clarinet selection in my repertoire and this work is the result. This movement is a frenetic and virtuosic dance based off of Rivera’s signature interval of the tritone. - Matthew NunesWindsor, September 2014 - March 2015.

Nancarrow's music for player piano with .acrobatic complexity .that sounds .hardly performable has been known for more than four decades. The traditional notation is replaced by the accurate manual punching of individual holes in player piano roles, thus enabling multi-part sounds and rhythmic counterpoints in irrational relations which could never be played so accurately by human performers.
Fortunately, Nancarrow's less complex studies are again and again arranged for a wide variety of live instrumentation. The arrangement for two pianos by the renowned British composer and conductor Thomas Ad.s (*1971) presents the ideal opportunity for every experienced pianist to not only listen to the studies but to play them as well.

Pace #798494. Published by Kevin G. Pace (A0.1199426). Poignant, sacred choral music. The text is in reference to the sacrifices of the pioneers of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Music by Kevin G. Pace.  Text by Mark R. Fotheringham. Dedicated to the Willie and Martin handcart companies. Text: Into the wind, we suffer the more. To Zion we march, or to heaven's door. We stumble and fall; angels attend To help us rise up and march on again. No never alone, for God is our guide. We know inside.Tattered and torn, our shoes all in shreds. In sage or in snow, we lay down our heads. We dig shallow graves, bury our dead, Then wake the next morn and onward we tred. Through trial and pain, we hold to the rod, And thus know God.All that we have in one little cart, Together we push; we each do our part. And somehow our hearts, knit by our chores, Are strengthened to know we'll see temple doors. These rags will be white, for joy is in store Forevermore.

Saxophone quartet Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 5 - SKU: A0.764653 Composed by Gustav Holst (1874-1934). Arranged by James Pybus. 20th Century,Contemporary,Contest,Festival. 97 pages. James Pybus #36481. Published by James Pybus (A0.764653). In 1905 Gustav Holst became Director of Music at St. Paul’s Girls’ School in Hammersmith, London, a post which he retained right up until his death in 1934. St. Paul's Suite was written for the school’s string orchestra in 1912. The work is in four movements: a Jig, reminiscent of English fiddle tunes; a muted Ostinato (Presto); an Intermezzo which starts fairly slowly and softly, switching abruptly to a short Vivace section. The rhythmic tune here is based on an Arab song which Holst had noted in his sketchbook a few years earlier while on holiday in Algeria. After this brief interlude, the music returns to the slower opening tempo, and in the very last bars of the movement ‘the descending chromatic sixths are like a gesture of farewell to the good old days: never again did [Holst] indulge in such an unblushing display of nineteenth-century romanticism’--- these rather severe words are his daughter’s, quoted from her biography of her father. The Finale is framed around a familiar English folk tune (the Dargason), which, in the course of the movement, is used as a counter-melody to the even more familiar Greensleeves. Holst was evidently fond of this tune, as he also used it as the concluding movement of his well-known Suite No. 2 in F, Op. 28b for Military Band. Durations: 1. Jig 4:00; 2. Ostinato 1:28; 3. Intermezzo 3:41; 4. Finale (The Dargason) 4:00; Total time 13:09 I wrote this arrangement for SATB Saxophone Quartet in 2004, with revisions in 2015. It is a challenging yet ultimately rewarding piece for both audiences and players. contact me at james.pybus56@gmail.com.

Duration 3:15My goal with this march was to write something easy enough for school bands, but still make it fun to play. You will notice that there are no notes in the very high register for any instrument, and that articulations are kept easy. It's fun to play because every instrument has a good part! Being a former horn player, my policy is to never again write after-beats for the french horn. Whoever had the idea that french horn and alto horn players would only play after-beats must surely rank as one of the worst villains in music.Your horn players will thank you for choosing this march.

Classical Guitar Solo - IntermediateComposed by Edwin Culver (1992-) 4 Pages. Duration 7'30Composer's note: Have you ever felt stuck? Trapped by something you can’t fully understand no matter how hard you try? Perhaps it’s something from our past that we never invited...or something we’ve missed in our closest relationships, maybe it’s just the dread we’ve felt waking up early in the morning to repeat the daily grind. We work hard to try and propel ourselves out of this nightmare, but we never seem to get totally free, in fact sometimes it feels like we’re just making ourselves feel worse by failing to overcome it yet again. This piece, ...a bridge a-way, exits within, represents that feedback loop, that stuckness. The piece came to me when I felt stuck in life by several things - old scars, old habits, crippling emotions. I had been wanting to write something in a minimalist style for the guitar for quite some time and the repetition found in so much minimalist music seemed like the obvious way for expressing this stuckness. There’s constant motion in the piece, just like when we try to take constant action in our lives to improve our circumstances. But all this motion never seems to get us anywhere new. We’re spinning our wheels…But one of the interesting things about great minimalist music is that it’s not merely about repetition. I don’t believe the greatest minimalists were concerned with having less stuff in their music for the sake of having less. Instead, what I think they more often aimed for was producing the biggest emotional impact that they could through the tiniest of changes. And if in your mind’s eye you zoom out from one of these minimalist masterworks and perceive it on a grand scale, you realize that despite all the seemingly redundant repetition in the moment the piece actually covers a huge distance because all those tiny changes add up.Likewise, in ...a bridge a-way, exits within, it seems like the performer can’t free himself from the territory of the first position on the guitar for the longest time. Even when he does venture higher up the instrument he’s always inextricably pulled back to the starting point. But small changes can have a profound impact. It doesn’t feel like we’re making headway whenever we’re having to crawl out of our skin - until, suddenly, when it’s all over. And you hear this towards the end of the piece, when there’s a sudden magnetic force that pulls the music from a low A to a high E-natural. From A to E, a bridge to exits eternal. The bridge has been found within, in the One I’ve put my trust in, because I can’t reach my eternal destiny on my own. This is ...a bridge a-way, exits within.

Published by Timothy Stapay (A0.1300078). How Can You Mend a Broken Heart is a song released by the Bee Gees in 1971. It was written by Barry and Robin Gibb and was the first single on the group's 1971 album Trafalgar. It was their first US No. 1 single and also reached No. 1 in Cashbox magazine for two weeks. The Bee Gees were a musical group formed in 1958 by brothers Barry, Robin, and Maurice Gibb. The trio were especially successful in popular music in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and later as prominent performers in the disco music era in the mid- to late 1970s. The group sang recognisable three-part tight harmonies: Robin's clear vibrato lead vocals were a hallmark of their earlier hits, while Barry's R&B falsetto became their signature sound during the mid- to late 1970s and 1980s. The group wrote all their own original material, as well as writing and producing several major hits for other artists, and are regarded as one of the most important and influential acts in pop-music history. Bee Gees Lyrics:How Can You Mend A Broken Heart?I can think of younger days when living for my lifeWas everything a man could want to doI could never see tomorrowBut I was never told about the sorrowsAnd, how can you mend a broken heart? How can you stop the rain from falling down? How can you stop the sun from shining? What makes the world go 'round? How can you mend this broken man?How can a loser ever win? Please help me mend my broken heart and let me live againI can still feel the breeze that rustles through the treesAnd misty memories of days gone byWe could never see tomorrowNo one said a word about the sorrowAnd how can you mend a broken heart? How can you stop the rain from falling down? How can you stop the sun from shining? What makes the world go 'round? And how can you mend this broken man?How can a loser ever win? Please help me mend my broken heart and let me live againLa la la la la la, la la la laLa la la la la la, la la la laPlease help me mend my broken heart and let me live againDa da da daDa da da da, da da da da da, da.

If you destroy my image It does not matter Finally that door remains open And opening the border between dream and reality I stumble among people at my funeral Who cry, who laugh, It is my Carnival I look at them from above, a spectral profile Rush down into the void that I have inside Nobody hugs me, I touch the silence, Slow-motion of a movie without more viewers, Close the curtain of the world outside and ... and ... The snow falls , how cold it is For this actress without identity I escape from the frost of my uncertainties But there is no refuge save me from she Who is heat, but to hurt Is my animal instinct I'm alone in this storm But certainly I do not regret Your mood swings, your sterile love Even without, I will survive My nemesis now dominates Be careful! If she comes for you She destroys you, crushes you, is cruel and savage, And then she will laugh in your face And sitting here on the bank of my river I'm waiting for you to pass this way Naked and without arrogance I'll never get enough This dance that gives me joy And in the darkness I move safe and stealthy (what are you?) I'm not afraid of anything and I feel wicked (you are lost now) Souls dancing to the beat of their sins (you like us) In this limbo I disown my past days (and so will you be...) Wind and storm I'm not just this, The rumble of thunder I don't understand any longer which side I’m on And it goes against the wind and sharpens my torment I'm hungry for the Sun Nemesis cannot dominate me My nemesis is here, Is stronger than ever And I know that she is reaching for me And it’s she who does not know Ever to stop halfway, Is Lady of Vice and Deception She seizes me , she exhausts me because She does not accept the peace that I have inside She has no balance, Makes me waver, And frustrates what I have achieved Tell me that you'll disappear As a dream in the morning light And will be, within me, A memory clouded by time I leave the room of my consciousness To make order is impossible Strange this drawer, not only sufferings But something relentless Nemesis, it is no longer your time By now your fire is spent And I will be born again to enchantment By words and music Food for the soul ... The trees told the flowers hiding there by the hilltop. The clouds told the moon that shone above. So angry yet blue when they found out that youAnd your heart had another love. The brook became angry and changed to a river, rushing so madly along. The soft summer breeze that played tag with the trees, became so wild and so strong. The bashful white flowers hiding there by the hilltop,Grew dark when the rain came pouring down.Their hearts couldn't hide all the tears that were cried,And had carpeted upon the ground. The storm has gone over, there'll be sunshine again. The chains that held me are now gone. The trees wave hello as I stand here below,And the brook sings the sweetest song. The bashful white flowers are again by the hill-top.The sun and the moon are still my friends.I promise there'll be no more heartaches for me,Till I fall in love again.

Lyrics No, no, no, no, no! Can't hide it anymore, She's happy but I'm hurt, I want to be her joy; She said I'm so annoy'ng, Baby I'm so sorry! Baby I'm so sorry! She has no hope in me making it big, She saw no future in me becoming rich, She chose luxury over me; Baby I'm so sorry! She saw no happiness with me so soon, She chose money over me Because I was broke; We ate together, We laughed together; We loved each other: She said she love me I am everything to her, She said I meant the world and the life in her, But she chose luxury over me, Baby I'm so sorry! Luxury so sweet; the life she feels I cannot give, She chose money over me Because I was broke; I was out in the colds Just to gist with you, I know my failures Made me look senseless And my path rejections Made me look worthless; I buried my labour just to make you so happy And sweet smile on your face gave me joy and hope on my dreams I will never forget you, I will always remember, For the memory of you Had consumed my thoughts, Baby I'm so sorry! Baby I'm so sorry! I thought I was the one for you all this while, I hope your luxury will love and care for you More than the way I would love and care for you, Because I thought my little love was just enough She chose money over me Because I was broke; No, no, no, no, no! Can't hide it any more, She's happy but I'm hurt, I want to be her joy; She said I'm so annoy'ng, Baby I'm so sorry! Baby I'm so sorry! My dreams of promises to her is gone with her For it never became a reality, I told her to never leave me. She said I'm giving her tough times. I called her my Belov'd the one in whom I am well pleased, I told her it will be all right for one day we Will make it to the top of the World together, But she never believed me Because I was broke; She started feeling bored for texting and chatting with me; She started laying False accusations against me; I denied pleasure and Distance just to be with her And made her so happy But she could not do same for me, Baby I'm so sorry! Baby I'm so sorry! She suspects me for what I do not know, I had to let it go For her to be happy Because that's what she wants! Baby I'm so sorry! Baby I'm so sorry! It's hard to say the word Because I was broke; Baby I'm so sorry! Baby I'm so sorry! Baby I'm so sorry! Baby I'm so sorry!

Piano Solo - Level 4 - SKU: A0.873027 Composed by Sally Whitwell. Contemporary. Score. 5 pages. Sally Whitwell #3867219. Published by Sally Whitwell (A0.873027). At the end of July 2016, I was in my hometown Canberra for a job interview. I was sick as a dog with laryngitis for the interview and audition. Imagine me trying to take a choir rehearsal with no voice? It was never going to happen for me and I was feeling pretty sorry for myself. Halfway back to Sydney on the bus, I get a text from my dear friend Emma. I don’t remember the exact words, but the gist of it was No easy way to say this. We lost Jeff today. Jeff being Emma’s beloved husband and all round awesome human. It was truly devastating. I didn’t know what to do. I felt terribly guilty for thinking of myself and my employment failure all day instead of thinking of Emma and Jeff, even though that was completely irrational. Didn’t want to call because I knew she’d have enough stuff to deal with. Couldn’t turn around cos Public Transport. Had lost the ability to formulate sentences because in that situation, there are no words. So I fell back into the place where I express most clearly. Music. And into my native habitat, the piano. Passacaglia came flowing out very quickly. I hardly stopped to edit. Normally I would try to plan a composition a bit, so that it’s structurally sound. I didn’t do that but somehow it just emerged fully formed. I sent it to Emma who asked if I could come and perform it at the memorial service. But I couldn’t make it to the memorial. And you know what the saddest thing is? I can’t even now remember why, which means it can’t have actually been that important. Instead I created an electronic file of the piece, with more sounds than just piano. I hope it worked ok. Emma told me later that after the funeral when she suddenly found herself alone, she just played it over and over again on repeat. So I guess it did its job, but now it’s ready to make its own way in the world in its original version for solo piano. I hope it can bring some solace to others in grief

Piano Solo - Level 3 - SKU: A0.818282 By Stephen R Dalrymple. By Franz Joseph Haydn. Arranged by edited by Stephen R Dalrymple (Dalrymple Designs). Classical. Score. 17 pages. Stephen R Dalrymple #4967137. Published by Stephen R Dalrymple (A0.818282). Franz Joseph Haydn was born in 1732 in a small village in Austria, near the Hungarian border. ♫ His father was a wheelwright and a leader of the town. His mother had been a cook in the palace of a Count. His father had taught himself to play the harp. His family was musical and often sang together (16 brothers and sisters). His father saw that he was extremely musical and that he couldn’t get the education he needed in his little village. When he was 6 years old, he was sent to the home of a relative about 7 miles away to study to be a musician. He never lived with his parents again. ♫ In 1752 he was employed by Count Karl Joseph Morzin, leading the Count’s small orchestra and writing the first of his symphonies. ♫ In 1760 he married Maria Keller. They had a very unhappy marriage, producing no children. ♫ In 1760 Count Paul Andre Esterhazy (one of the wealthiest and most important nobles in the Austrian empire) hired him as assistant director of music. In 1766 at the age of 34, Prince Nikolaus Esterhazy appointed Haydn his Director of Music. His job was divided between the Esterhazy palace in Austria their palace across the border Hungary. ♫ Haydn dedicated Piano Sonata 40 to Princess Marie Esterhazy. He worked for the Esterhazys for the next 28 years, writing hundreds of pieces of music for the prince. After about 15 years, he signed a new contract allowing him to write music for other customers. Haydn’s reputation grew to international fame. ♫ Haydn wrote 104 Symphonies. Not unlike George Washington, nicknamed the “Father of our Countryâ€, yet had no children, Haydn is known as the “Father of the Symphony.†♫ Napoleon captured Vienna in 1809. Napoleon, himself, ordered an honor guard be placed at Haydn’s home where Haydn lay dying. ♫ The Classical Music for Tablet Series offers piano masterworks by classical composers formatted to be read on 10 inch tablets. I use an Amazon Kindle with Mobile Sheets Pro and an Air Turn blue tooth foot pedal to practice and perform piano music. Similar products available to provide other tablets the same functionality. ♫ The pieces in this series have not been arranged, but most have been edited slightly, and have been formatted to fit this screen size. For example, in the tablet versions, first and second endings are often removed and the repeated measures and endings written into the music so the performer can avoid having to go back to previous pages. These kinds of section repeats were invented to spare the composer’s time and the cost of extra paper and ink. But with a tablet the cost of paper and ink is irrelevant. ♫ Although there are a lot more page turns with a 10 inch screen compared with letter size pages, the readability of the music (due to the backlighting on the tablet) and the portability of the music (travelling with a small tablet instead of oversized books or portfolios of sheet music) easily makes up for the extra page turns. ♫ Your purchase provides one .pdf file that contains both the tablet edition and the letter size page (printable) version. There are several programs available online that will allow you to separate this .pdf file into 2 .pdf files to make it more useful.
