Jazz Ensemble - SKU: AX.00-PC-0017262_APC Auxiliary Percussion. Composed by Gordon Goodwin. Jazz. Part. 3 pages. Alfred Music - Digital Sheet Music #00-PC-0017262_APC. Published by Alfred Music - Digital Sheet Music (AX.00-PC-0017262_APC). UPC: 038081458816.As recorded by Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band on the CD That's How We Roll, but minus the woodwind doubles, saxes only. Arranged for flexibility, it's a beautiful solo feature for C instruments, alto sax, tenor sax, trumpet, or trombone with all those solo parts included. Tempo is easy at 138 BPM with a mellow straight-eighth groove. Lead trumpet range is easy to written F-sharp on top line and flugelhorns for the section if possible. This very accessible as a solo feature. A gorgeous melody. This title is available in SmartMusic.

Small Ensemble Guitar,Piano,Violin - Level 4 - SKU: A0.632372 By Joe Cocker. By Billy Preston and Bruce Fisher. Arranged by Fishel Pustilnik. Pop,Rock. Score and parts. 7 pages. F & N Enterprise #2884639. Published by F & N Enterprise (A0.632372). An excellent arrangement of famous Song You Are So Beautiful for Guitar & Piano (Jazz/Pop Version). The composition is easy to read, fun to play and sound professional when performed. Arranged by Fishel Pustilnik, very well known as Composer/Publisher. His books Jazz & Pop Piano Paradise (Volumes 1-5) have become a commercial success and a hit with music teachers and students in Canada. (Thousands books already sold in Canada). They are also starting to enter the US, Brazil, Norway, Russia, Holland, Israel, Belgium, Sweden, Finland, Greece, Latvia and UK markets. This is a wonderful new publication. These pieces offer much appeal for the young pianist and excellent choice for a supplementary book for students from Grade 3 to 8. Lore Ruschiensky, Editor, (from review in The Canadian Music Teacher) Yesterday I spent at least two pleasure filled hours playing through your imaginatively inventive compositions. Congratulations! I trust students will decide to program your well crafted and entertaining works on recitals and examinations. Review from Dr. Jack Behrens, B.Sc. (Julliard), PH.D (Harvard), Director of Academic Studies, The Glenn Gould School I liked this book the best so far. Great work! You have a gift for melody and your arrangements are very playable. Congratulations on the 3rd Volume. Mark Carlstein, Hal Leonard, Keyboard Publications.

Guitar,Instrumental Duet,Soprano voice - Level 3 - SKU: A0.1292872 Composed by Cleo Laine and Stanley Myers. Arranged by Derek Hasted. Contemporary. 18 pages. Derek Hasted #883469. Published by Derek Hasted (A0.1292872). CAVATINA for SOPRANO/MEZZO and GUITARBest suited for Classical or Acoustic Guitar - sometimes it's erroneously listed here as Electric Guitar only.Derek Hasted writes The beautifully melodic Cavatina was made famous by John Williams, who arranged the piece for solo guitar and produced some effortless recordings of it.Cleo Laine then produced a sublime song - He Was BeautifulWhy this arrangement?I’ve lowered the key by one tone which makes many of the chords sound more mellow and it now suits both mezzo and soprano voices - a range of an octave and a note, starting on sharpened Middle C.In the guitar part, I’ve fixed the ungainly jumps in the accompaniment bass line which came as a constraint of playing up the neck on solo guitar and I’ve improved the connectivity of the middle voices from chord to chord so the chord changes sound more effortless and natural.By virtue of the key change and careful use of enharmonic equivalents, the guitar part is now on familiar ground. The guitar part is here in “score and tab†and in “score alone†- there is no difference in the music.I also have versions for two guitars and for woodwind and guitar - to find them easily, visit my website (below) and look for my list of guitar duets and woodwind arrangements.I hope you enjoy playing this piece! This is one of a large and growing range of accessible ensembles from experienced arranger Derek Hasted, and is supplied as full score and parts. Derek's website at www.derek-hasted.co.uk/smp lists all his arrangements by title and by number of instruments, with links to soundclips and sample score.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Trio Clarinet,Flute - Level 2 - SKU: A0.763488 Composed by Traditional German. Arranged by Nigel Williams. Folk,Multicultural,Sacred,Standards,World. 8 pages. Nigel Williams #5853969. Published by Nigel Williams (A0.763488). Popular German hymn tune St. Elizabeth, also known as Beautiful Savior, and Crusaders' Hymn, this much loved melody as harmonized by Richard Storrs Willis. This arrangement for two flutes and clarinet is based partly on the familiar Willis harmonies and partly freely composed. Each instrument has an opportunity to lead and this arrangement is ideal in any service of worship where these hymn texts are admired. Also ideal repertoire for Middle and Junior High School wind players. The performance duration is two and a half minutes and the full score has three individual parts attached. Enjoy browsing my extensive selection of wind and flute trios and quartets on SMP.

This marvelous arrangement of the Largo, based on the second movement of Antonin Dvorak's Symphony No. 9 in E minor, would be a fabulous addition to any music library and could be performed for concerts, recitals and church services, especially Funerals, but would be appropriate any time during the church year. This arrangement is suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing this selection. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (18 pages). This selection is one of the many arrangements from the The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library which are being made available for the first time.Symphony No. 9 in E minor, Op. 95 (subtitled From the New World and popularly know as the New World Symphony), was composed by Antonin Dvorak in 1893 while he was the director of the National Conservatory of Music of America from 1892 to 1895. It premiered at Carnegie Hall in New York City on December 16, 1893 and has been described as one of the most popular of all symphonies. The second movement of the symphony, upon which this arrangement is based, is marked Largo, and begins with a harmonic progression of chords which is then followed by a solo instrument playing the famous main theme.Dvorak was interested in Native American music and the African-American spirituals he heard in North America. While director of the National Conservatory he encountered an African-American student, Harry T. Burleigh, who sang traditional spirituals to him. Burleigh, later a composer himself, said that Dvorak had absorbed their spirit before writing his own melodies. Dvorak stated:    I am convinced that the future music of this country must be founded on what are called Negro melodies. These can be the foundation of a serious and original school of composition to be developed in the United States. These beautiful and varied themes are the product of the soil. They are folk songs of America and your composers must turn to them.He further explained how Native American music influenced his symphony:  I have not actually used any of these (Native American) melodies. I have simply written original themes embodying the peculiarities of the Indian music, and, using these themes as subjects, have developed them with all the resources of modern rhythms, counterpoint, and orchestral colour. In 1893, a newspaper interview quoted Dvorak as saying, I found that the music of the negroes and of the Indians was practically identical, and that the music of the two races bore a remarkable similarity to the music of Scotland. Most historians agree that Dvorak is referring to the pentatonic scale, which is typical of each of these musical traditions.Dvorak was influenced not only by music he heard, but also by what he had seen, in America. He wrote that he would not have composed his American pieces as he had if he had not seen America. It has been said that Dvorak was inspired by the wide open spaces of America, such as the prairies he may have seen on his trip to Iowa in the summer of 1893. Notices about several performances of the symphony include the phrase wide open spaces about what inspired the symphony and/or about the feelings it conveys to listeners. The theme from the Largo was adapted into the spiritual Goin' Home (often mistakenly considered a folk song or traditional spiritual) by Dvorak's pupil, William Arms Fisher, who wrote the lyrics in 1922. Regis Bookshar thought it would be wonderful if other instrumentalists could have the opportunity to play this beautiful melody, so, in addition to this version for a Viola Quintet, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this selection which are readily available for a wide variety of instrumental.

Regis Bookshar thought it would be wonderful if other instrumentalists could have the opportunity to play this beautiful melody, so, in addition to this version for a Violoncello Quintet, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this selection which are readily available for a wide variety of.
