Fred Bock was a master of both melody and harmony. Joe Martin a longtime friend of Freds with a fabulous musical reputation of his own discovered a beautiful tune from a musical Fred wrote years ago. He cleverly and tastefully tweaked the tune andadded his own lyric to create a wonderful new Christmas anthem. The words are comforting and assuring with the message of the advent season. My music depicts a strong woman, who rejoices in her happiness and also swings [many 6/8, 12/8 and swing passages], but on the other hand who in formulating her concept of God clearly stands up for the poor and needy.
