Give Us Hope is from the project Sounds Of A Better World = small voices calling a series of songs focusing on children which examines their world and how small steps can be made to improve it. The series is dedicated to the belief that music can heal reveal challenge communicate educate and celebrate as we journey towards creating a secure global future for our children.

?I ask for one day where I don't have to hear about pain or life that's lost I ask for one day where whispers of hope are alive inside my heart.? These words written by 5th graders in a writing workshop moved the composer to create this inspiring work.

For Two-Part Treble Chorus Percussion and Piano-?Kusimama? is written in the World music style that is accessible for choirs both young and old who are just beginning to be exposed to world rhythms and language a sort of introduction to new languages syllables body percussion and style. The text which is in both Swahili and English is about standing tall on the earth not with anger or aggression but with hope strength acceptance and positivity. The voices along with hand claps stomps djembe shaker and piano all combine for an exciting World music presentation.

(Together)-This work comprising of three part treble Voices two Percussion players and Piano sing in a Latino style that is becoming a signature style of composer Jim Papoulis.This original text by the composer itentifies the strength and power that exists when we learn to work and walk together. The title “Juntos” means together and through Latin dance rhythms builds to a powerful “Unidad”. 

from CoolSide of Yuletide-This arrangement of three well-known carols ?Hark the Herald Angels Sing ? ?Angels We Have Heard on High ? and ?The First Noel? uses contemporary musical styles altered harmonies and word play to expand the palette of the carol experience.This and other selections from the CoolSide of Yuletide series can be heard on the album of the same name by the Young People's Chorus of New York City.

Jim Papoulis is donating his composer royalties to the Foundation For Small Voices a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing awareness and funding to programs supporting the empowerment of children throughout the world byfostering their creativity through music and role models.

from CoolSide of Yuletide-From the album Coolside of Yuletide this is a musical wish for peace on earth that will have contemporary relevance and will resonate with today's youth. The true essence of this piece should be one of gentle inner understanding that peace can come from all of us. Written in a songwriting workshop for SATB choir and children's choir, the joining of these two choirs are suggestive that we should all be supportive of one another. There is a gentle feel to the music during the verses and bridge with the refrains being full of celebrations. / Soprano Et Choeur Mixte

Small Voices Publishing-Conceived as a way to honor the bravery of military men and women as well as honoring those in everyone's lives whose hard work achievements and sacrifices inspire us daily. The songwriters were especially inspired by The Independence Fund a remarkable organization working to move severely injured American military veterans toward greater independent mobility.
