Vinifera a 2008 IAJE/ASCAP commission honoring legendary saxophonist and former leader of the Count Basie Band, Frank Foster. It is an even 8th-note, medium-up tune that has a modern jazz feel. Lead trumpet goes up to a high C just above the staff. Trumpets 2 and 3 go up to a high Bb above the staff. Tenor Sax Solo. 5/4/4/p/b/d/g. Alto Sax with Clarinet double. Tenor Sax 1 with Clarinet double. Alternate parts that have no doubles for Alto Sax and Tenor Sax 1. There is no alternate part for the Soprano Sax.
