F. Schubert: Complete String Trios (Parts).D 471.D 581 First Version.D 581 Second Version.Fragment to D 111A.Fragment to D 471 Second Movement.Also available study score TP306.The New Schubert Edition is a scholarly-critical complete edition reflecting current knowledge of the sources and the latest research findings. It is thus indispensable for the study and authentic performance of Schubert's music.

Following the first two volumes of Haydn’s String Trios in a study score (HN 9424 and 9425) we are now publishing the third and final one. Although Haydn is said to have composed about 60string trios most of them must be discounted for source-critical and stylistic reasons. The eighteen trios which definitely lay claim to authenticity were published in volumes 1 and 2. The third volume contains eight triosattributed to Haydn although his authorship cannot be proven. In addition to the Urtext edition (HN 628) these charming works are now also available in a handy score format. The musical text is that of the HaydnComplete Edition and it has been complemented by a new and informative preface by the Haydn scholar Sonja Gerlach.

Rarement donnés en concert ces petits bijoux de la musique de chambre sont pleins de surprises et très plaisants à jouer. Les 18 trios conservés font l?objet de deux recueils élaborés sur la base de l?édition complète des ?uvres de Haydn également parue aux éditions Henle. Le second volume contient les trios Hob. V:15?21. Le commentaire critique donne de précieuses informations sur la genèse des trios ainsi que sur l?état des sources.

Bärenreiter?s new scholarly-critical edition of op. 87 edited by Christopher Hogwood is based on the score and parts from the first edition; where necessary he also consulted the autograph.

The first edition parts were engraved after the manuscript parts and not after the score. Here the readings of the legato phrasing and the dynamics more accurately reflect the composer?s intentions than in the first edition score.
