The Suzuki philosophy is based upon the idea that children can learn music in the same manner they do their native language through repetitive listening. This simple method of teaching has developed into a worldwide movement with proponents in many countries across many instruments. The first three volumes of The Suzuki Viola School have been directly transcribed from Shinichi Suzuki's Violin method by Doris Preucil and contain many popular Baroque melodies in addition to the necessary exercises and studies. Suitable for bothbeginner adults and young children.

This CD contains demonstration trcks for all the pieces in Volumes 3 and 4 of the Suzuki: Viola School to use as a reference. All pieces have been wonderfully performed by William Preucil.

FOR THE STUDENT This material is part of the worldwide Suzuki Method of teaching. Companion recordings should be used with these publications. In addition there are viola part books that go along with this material. FOR THE TEACHER In order to be an effective Suzuki teacher a great deal ongoing education is required. Your national Suzuki association provides this for its membership. Teachers are encouraged to become members of their national Suzuki associations and maintain a teacher training schedule in order to remain current via institutes short-term programs and long-term programs. You are also encouraged to join the International SuzukiAssociation. FOR THE PARENT Credentials are essential for any teacher you choose. We recommend you to ask your teacher for his credentials especially those relating to traning in the Suzuki Method. The Suzuki Method should be a positive one where there exists a wonderful fostering relationship between child parent and teacher. So choosing the right teacher is of the utmost importance.

Whenever possible every effort was made to keep the viola and violoncello/double bass parts melodic rather than simply filling in the various harmonic chord progressions. The pieces maybe performed as a solo for each instrument (Violin 1 Violin 2 Viola or Cello) with piano accompaniment or as duets or trios as well as full orchestra.
