Service of Prayer and Dedication

A Welsh Prayer in the original version for SATB choir and two harps was commissioned by Holywell Music and the North Wales International Music Festival as a gift to celebrate the 65th birthday of His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales. The beautiful words written especially for this anthem by Dr Grahame Davies - one of Wales's most outstanding poets - reflect the long life of service and dedication to the nation that the Prince has tirelessly undertaken throughout his life. The piece was premiered by the Aberdeen University Chamber Choir with harpists Hannah Stone and Catrin Finch conducted by the composer on 22 September 2013 at St Asaph’s Cathedral aspart of the North Wales International Music Festival. This version arranged for male voice choir by Edward-Rhys Harry was first performed by the massed choirs of the 25th London Welsh Festival of Male Choirs accompanied by the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama Symphony Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall on 15 October 2016 directed by Edward-Rhys Harry.

A stately prayer of commitment and a plea for God's continued guidance and care. “Lord Help Me Be Your Servant” earnestly speaks of total dedication to service while recognizing that even good works are impossiblewithout God's hand. A lovely anthem for services of dedication commitment ordination or commissioning.

Incidental Music For Service And Sacrement-This volume was written to meet the need for background and transitional music in worship services. Inspired by Kierkegard’s analogy of worship being drama veteran performer and church musician Don Wyrtzen has crafted thematically-congruent suites to serve as incidental music. Each suite contains a number of standard hymns as well as a newly-composed original theme which serves to introduce and tie the arrangement together. There are numerous starting and stopping points written into the arrangements allowing for maximum flexibility in length. The main titles include: Call to Worship Suite (also suitable as a prelude); Communion Suite I: The Bread; Communion Suite II:The Cup; Scripture Reading Suit; Prayer Suite I; Baptism Suite; Baby Dedication Suites I & II; Invitation Suites I & II; and Benediction Suite (also suitable as a postlude).
