Volume 1 (ED 22555) contains very easy to easy pieces with a range up to written c'', with d'' appearing as a short top note in just afew pieces. Simple and memorable rhythms, readily playable note sequences and patterns of articulation that can be mastered quickly and easily make this book ideal for beginners. Volume 2 (ED 22556) contains easy to intermediate pieces with a range no higher than f''. Besides extending rhythmic scope and requiring a little more in terms of phrasing and articulation, these pieces will encourage further exploration of musical contrasts. Volume 3 (ED 22557) is of medium difficulty and intended for players with a well-developed embouchure who can play notes up to written g'', though this note only appears as a short top note. Flexible articulation and legato playing with a well-developed dynamic range are required for pieces that are longer than those in the preceding volumes.

Centenary 2019 is a three-movement suite based on a local folksong and was commissioned by Chr. Fanfare De Lofstem, from the Dutch province of Friesland, on the occasion of its 100th anniversary in 2019. ‘AwakeningVillage’, the first movement, musically describes the waking up and coming to life of the village. ‘Bintje Monument’ was inspired by a famous sculpture that was placed to honour headmaster Kornelis Lieuwes de Vries (1854-1929) whodeveloped the well-known potato variety called ‘bintje’. The finale, ‘Journey into the Unknown’ refers to the band’s memorable 2011 concert trip to the United States of America, in which the composer combines elements of thefolksong and fragments from ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’. The piece consists of a wide range of playful and melodic sequences as well as some galvanizing rhythmical passages.

Het driedelige werk Centenary 2019 werd gecomponeerd in opdracht van Chr. Fanfare De Lofstem uit het Friese Sumar ter gelegenheid van het honderdjarig jubileum van de vereniging in 2019. Het is gebaseerd op een plaatselijkvolksliedje. In het eerste deel, ‘Awakening Village’, wordt verklankt hoe het dorp ontwaakt en tot leven komt. Deel twee, ‘Bintje Monument’, is ge nspireerd op een sculptuur ter nagedachtenis van hoofdonderwijzer Kornelis Lieuwesde Vries (1854-1929), die het bekende aardappelras bintje ontwikkelde. De finale, ‘Journey into the Unknown’ verwijst naar een concertreis die de muziekvereniging in 2011 naar de VS maakte. De componist laat elementen uit hetleidmotief en flarden van ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ in het slotdeel van dit werk samenkomen. Het werk als geheel bestaat uit diverse speelse en melodische sequensen, alsook opzwepende ritmische passages.

Centenary 2019 est une commande de la Fanfare De Lofstem, un ensemble du village de Sumar, dans la province néerlandaise de la Frise, pour marquer son centenaire, en 2019. Cette suite en trois mouvements est fondée sur unechanson traditionnelle locale. Le premier mouvement, « Awakening Village » (Le village s’éveille), dépeint l’éveil et la reprise des activités du village. « Bintje Monument » (Le monument la Bintje) s’inspire de la célèbresculpture qui rend hommage Kornelis Lieuwes de Vries (1854-1929), un directeur d’école qui a créé une variété de pomme de terre bien connue, la Bintje. Le dernier mouvement, « Journey into the Unknown » (Voyage vers l’inconnu),évoque une inoubliable série de concerts aux États-Unis. Ici, le compositeur combine des éléments du leitmotiv et des fragments de « The Star-Spangled Banner » (La Bannière étoilée). Cette pièce comprend de nombreusesséquences enjouées et mélodiques, ainsi que plusieurs passages rythmiques exaltants.

Laudate Regem - or Praise the King! After a reign of 33 years, Beatrix, Queen of the Netherlands, stepped down from the throne to make way for her eldest son Willem-Alexander. For this special occasion, Matthias van Nispen tot Pannerden haswritten a majestic work for the Royal Netherlands Air Force Orchestra, which sounded at precisely the moment the new king left the Nieuwe Kerk after his inauguration. A festive work for a memorable occasion!

Laudate Regem, Lof aan de koning! Deze muziek werd gespeeld op het moment dat de koninklijke familie de Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam verliet, en het werd door de Kapel van de Koninklijke Luchtmacht tevens gespeeld tijdens de NationaleHerdenkingsplechtigheid op 4 mei. Na een korte beginfanfare volgt een prachtige, gedragen melodie waarin even muzikaal verwezen wordt naar het Wilhelmus. Naar het eind toe volgt een overweldigend slot. Met dit werk is het altijd even opnieuw 30 april2013...

Laudate Regem, oder: Preiset den König! Nach einer Regierungszeit von 33 Jahren hat Beatrix, Königin der Niederlande, am 30. April 2013 den Thron für ihren ältesten Sohn Willem-Alexander frei gemacht. Für diesen besonderen Anlassschrieb Matthias van Nispen tot Pannerden ein majestätisches Werk für das Orchester der Königlich Niederländischen Luftwaffe, die genau in dem Moment erklang, als der neue König die Nieuwe Kerk nach seiner Amtseinführung in Amsterdamverließ. Lorsque le nouveau roi quitta la Nouvelle Église pour traverser Le Dam (place principale du centre ville historiqued’Amsterdam), les premières notes de cette musique hautement festive marquèrent un évènement mémorable
