Melodic and Progressive Etudes, Op. 60

A second book of progressive exercises and melodic studies by esteemed Italian Flautist Ernesto Kohler. His studies are intended to impact technical skills through the joy of playing. Within the covers of this fabulous volume you will find a further ten etudes that continue on from the first book also including duets for each. These pieces are relatively simple in terms of technical ability but the melody and tone of these pieces will prove invaluable for young flautists who can be all too easily weighed down with theory and incessant study.

The third and final volume of the set of progressive and melodic studies by Paul Jeanjean  20 Progressive And Melodic Studies is the volume for upper intermediate Clarinet players. This volume focuses on the following keys: F sharp major C sharp major D flat major G flat major C flat major and their relative minor tonalities. The studies are numbered 44 to 60 and information such as key or tempo is given in French English German Spanish Italian and Japanese. Paul Jeanjean (1874-1928) is a French composer known for his clarinet compositions. He also composed '16 Moderne Studies' 'Arabesques' and'Clear morning'.

German composer violinist and violist Johannes Palaschko (1877-1932) wrote significantly for his instruments. 24 Melodic Studies for Viola is still frequently used today. Palaschko studied in Berlin and is best remembered for his contributions to Violin and Viola studies. 24 Melodic Studies addresses rhythm intervals dynamics harmonics ornamentation scales chromaticism and arpeggios amongst other aspects. For all advanced violists Palaschko's 24 Melodic Studies provide a helpful aid to progressive technique.

Belgian born Louis Julien Vannetelbosch (b. 1920) is an established composer conductor and Trumpet player. His expertise combined have led him to publish 25 successful studies for Trumpet the majority of which have been compiled in Twenty Melodic and Technical Studies. Vannetelbosch studied at the Leuven and Brussels Conservatoires where he won many prizes. His professional career gained him success with many orchestras and he later went on to conduct and judge competitions. To this day Eugène Bozza (1905-1991) remains one of the most prolific composers for wind instruments despite being a violinist himself.
