Purcell's Funeral Music of Queen Mary for SATB and Organ.This edition of Purcell's Funeral Music brings together for the first time his 'Funeral Sentences' composed in 1677 or earlier and the music he wrote for the Funeral of Queen Mary II wife of William of Orange who died on December 28th 1694.

Górecki's Church Songs, based on melodies from Rev Jan Siedlecki's ?piewniki Ko?cielne ('church songbooks'), were composed in 1986. This edition is based on the PWM edition of 2013, which was produced with the assistance of Anna Górecka and Miko?aj Górecki. A special feature of the Boosey publications is the new, alternative Latin sung text by Edward Tambling, which will be attractive to the many choirs who do not wish to sing in Polish. The Latin text is carefully crafted to fit Górecki's score and is both poetic and sensitive to the devotional aspect of the songs. English translations from the Polish are also included, for reference only. The three publications present the songs for sacred use according to devotional subject-matter. In concert performances the songs, or a selection of them, may be performed in any order and combination. Vol 1 contains six songs in praise of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The seven songs in vol 2 take the themes of Good Friday, the Crucifixion, The Cross of Christ and the Resurrection. Ubi Caritas Et Amor  by Morten Lauridson was composed in 1999 for unaccompanied mixed voices and was commissioned by Loyola Marymount University to celebrate the life of choral director and scholar Father Richard Trame. A setting of an antiphon for Maundy Thursday Morten Lauridsen subtly adapts the plainchant melody adorning it with contrapuntal elaborations.  This piece is from Faber's Choral Signature Series which introduces a wealth of new or recently written choral music to choirs in search of fresh repertoire. the series draws in a rich diversity of living composersand includes both lighter and more challenging contemporary works offering a thrilling array of varied styles.

O that we were there! is a text taken from the Christmas hymn In Dulci Jubilo. It expresses a longing to be present at the Incarnation of Christ but it also conveys alonging to be out of the world oftime and space and in an eternal world.Composed in 2012 in memory of Blossom Barrow this SATB version was first performed at the memorial service for Annabel Freyberg mother of Blossom Barrow at St Mary Abbots theparish church of Kensington on 26th February 2014. The performance was given by the choir of St Mary Abbotsconducted by the Director of Music Professor Mark Uglow.

The words of the Wedding Hymn O Perfect Love were written by the English poet Dorothy Frances Gurney (née Blomfield) (1858-1932) to be used with an earlier melody. Sir Joseph Barnby then wrote a tune specifically for the words in 1890. This was popularised when it was used in 1893 at the wedding of the Duke of York and Princess Mary of Tek who would later become King George V and Queen Mary. Sir Joseph Barnby (1838-1896) was an English composer and conductor. He was a chorister at York Minster before studying at the RAM. He later became director of Music at Eton and Principal of the Guildhall School of Music.
