Malcolm arnold's concerto for Trumpet was commissioned by the Arts Council of Great Britain for the 100th Anniversary of the founding of the Royal College of Music. Trumpeter John Wallace was the soloists at the first performance in the Royal Albert Hall on 30 January 1983.
