French composer conductor and teacher Jules Semler-Collery (1902-1988) studied at the Paris Conservatoire where he won many prizes. He became well-known as a composer and his works remain popular to this day including his Barcarolle and Bacchanalian Songs for Tuba Double Bass Bass Saxhorn or Brass Trombone and Piano. Semler-Collery's success as a composer has been proven by the inclusion of many of his compositions in the list of compulsory works at the Paris Conservatoire.
