Estudio de Estilo-The life and work of Sabicas contradicts the widespread idea that you have to be Andalusian to play flamenco. Sabicas an exceptional guitarist and composer in the history of flamenco lived most of his life in America. This long 'exile' explains without doubt why Sabicas was the first flamenco guitarist essentially playing solo concerts. His large concert discography exceeds that of Paco de Luc a and Manolo Sanlúcar. This is one of two volumes that focus on Sabicas varied works. This volume (Temas Flamencos) covers the fundamentals of Buler as fandangos the Siguiriyas the Soleares etc. The first volume (Temas De Concierto) isfocused on Sabicas works inspired by the Iberian folklore or some marginal forms of flamenco repertoire.

Le second («Temas flamencos») est constitué de «palos» fondamentaux tels les Alegrías Bulerías Fandangos Siguiriyas Soleares Enfin le CD reprend tous les exemples présentés afin de faciliter votre compréhension et votre assimilation.

Ton Van Bergeyk launched his career as a musician during the late 1960s playing blues Harp and Ukulele in a duo setting, but he then switched to the acoustic Guitar and quickly learned and mastered the instrument using fingerstyle techniques. He started to transcribe and arrange classic ragtime compositions for fingerpicking Guitar and was discovered by Stefan Grossman during a tour in Holland. Stefan produced Ton's first solo album, Famous Ragtime Guitar Solos, in 1973. This contained 14 of Ton's arrangements of classic ragtime pieces and became a best seller. In 1975, Ton's second solo album, Guitar Instrumentals To Tickle Your Fingers, was released containing transcriptions and arrangements of novelty rags, early jazz and popular tunes of the 1930s and 1940s. In 1980, Ton's third solo album was released and continued his exploration of arrangements for solo fingerpicking Guitar, this time with a repertoire covering jazz, blues, contemporary pop and country and even Mexican folklore. This album was titled Lulu's Back In Town, Hot Guitar Solos. Ton also participated in several anthology projects, i.e. Novelty Guitar Instrumentals, I Got Rhythm, Masters of Ragtime Guitar, The Entertainer and How To Play Ragtime Guitar. All of Ton's albums are available as CDs as well as direct downloads from Stefan Grossman's Guitar Workshop, (www.guitarvideos.com) and include tab PDF booklets on the CDs. Ton recorded the audio lesson series Fingerstyle Jazz Guitar to teach phrase by phrase and measure by measure some of his most requested arrangements. Ballet in 1 Act and 5 Scenes-In 1941 Argentine composer Alberto Ginastera was commissioned to write a Ballet comprising One Act and Five scenes that was based on and would depict pastoral life in Argentina. He closely based his score on the great epic poem Mart n Fierro by Jose Hernandez which tells the story of the Argentinean cowboys or Gaucho — nomadic and heroic figures who are the subject of much of the country's folklore. The story tells of a city boy who watches and falls in love with a country maiden. Despite initial contempt for him her feelings turn to admiration as he demonstrates he can perform the rough and difficult work and proves his skill in taming wild horses.Estancia is set over the passage of a single day: dawn morning afternoon night and dawn. Ginastera has not only captured the rhythms of life on a Estancia or ranch but also provided an insight into the gaucho's now diminished way of life. This volume contains a fabulous Piano reduction of the Full Ballet score.
