Zoltán Kodály s unaccompanied mixed choruses first appeared in print in 1943 as a collected volume published by the association Magyar Kórus. This collection contained twenty-five works. In 1951, the volume was released again in the author s edition, being expanded with eight new compositions, but without Els áldozás (First Communion). Reprint editions of this collection had been distributed by Editio Musica Budapest until 1972, when a commemorative extended edition of the mixed choruses was issued, edited by Lajos Bárdos. Until now, reprints of this collection with forty-five compositions have been circulated. Péter Erdei carefully compared the printed edition with themanuscripts of the works preserved at the Kodály Archives. As a result of his work, in 2011 we emended a number of misprints, including those that had been inherited since the earliest print. Seventy-five years after the first release, the time has come for Kodály s collected choral works for mixed voices to appear in a completely new, expanded edition. Our collection contains six compositions that were not included in earlier editions: Jövel, Szentlélek eristen (Come, Holy Spirit), Miatyánk (The Lord s Prayer), Miserere, Salló Pista, Semmit ne bánkódjál (Do Not Grieve), ejesztend t köszönt (A Christmas Carol). In addition, two versions - both equally authentic - are published of the work known under the title of Naphimnusz (Canticle of the Sun), due to earlier editions the new release comes with lyrics in Hebrew and English (Adoration), as well as Dénes Szed s Hungarian translation (Napének [Hymn of the Sun]). This is the most complete and most authentic edition of Kodály s mixed choruses to date it is printed in a slightly larger format than previous editions, and it contains new easily-legible music scores and an informative epilogue. Diese Ausgabe entstand unter der Mitwirkung von Lajos Bárdos.

A modern hymn classic from Keith and Kristyn Getty, this engaging tune and profound text is a paean of faith for the church. Useful as a congregational moment and equally at home in this choral adaptation, this is a welcome addition to songs that celebrate the ministry of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Arranged with reverence to the dignified stylings of the original, the voices have chorale-styled harmonies that are easily learned, giving directors time to work on creating clarity in this fine lyric. Score and Parts (fl, ob, cl, bn, hn 1-2, perc, vn 1-2, va, vc, db) available on CD-ROM and as a digital download.

A captivating prayer to the Holy Spirit. Many aspects of this anthem - modest choral and keyboard demands, the anthem's relative brevity and a message tailored for these frenetic times - contribute to its versatility. Excellent for prayer responses, benedictions and Pentecost celebrations.

Lloyd Larson takes us to the heart of Pentecost in this new gospel song written for SATB choirs. Its original lyric, a prayer to be filled and guided by the Holy Spirit, is set to an uplifting tune in 9/8. The idiomatic piano accompaniment is a joy to play and the choral parts showcase Larson??s gift for four-part writing, with gently contrapuntal moments as the music heads toward a beautiful fortissimo section in its final measures.

First following the grass roots popularity of this song from Jesus Culture, and on to its almost unprecedented run at Christian radio, as recorded by Francesca Battistelli, this is a song that has made a connection with the church in a unique and special way. Incredibly simple yet utterly profound, it is both a prayer and life statement--Holy Spirit You Are Welcome Here... All that long for... So let us become ever more aware of You, of Your presence, let us experience Your goodness as we draw near to You. Beautifully arranged and orchestrated by Daniel Semsen, sensitive to the message and delicate strength of the song, your choir will be singing this reflection of the heart cry of every believer for many years to come.

This lively setting works well in conjunction with Veni, Creator Spiritus‚ (008251). John‚ lyrical, catchy melody speaks of being children of the Spirit who long to see God‚ face, united in one hope, one Lord, one faith. The bridge is an adroit reprise of the melody of Veni, Creator Spiritus.‚.
