Barcarolle N 6 Op. 104 Piano

Au cours d?un grand voyage entrepris à travers l?Europe à l?automne 1830, Mendelssohn Bartholdy découvrit avec enthousiasme Venise.

Voici ce qu?il rapporte au sujet des gondoliers typiques de l?endroit: «Les gondoliers braillent à nouveau et les lumières se reflètent dans la profondeur de l?eau; l?un d?eux chante en s?accompagnant à la guitare. Quelle nuit amusante».

Probablement en souvenir de ce séjour, Mendelssohn écrivit entre 1830 et 1841 quatre Venetianische Gondellieder (barcarolles vénitiennes).

Ces derniers sont déjà parus dans les recueils HN 327 et HN 861 des éditions Henle-Urtext.
