Composed during visits to Bali and Japan, these fantasies evoke traditional music through ever-present scale patterns. Three previous volumes, "Six Preludes" (P-2), "Four Preludes, Vol. II" (P-5), and "Preludes, Vol. IV" (P-9) combine well with these works for inclusion on any recital program. Written for solo piccolo, but also effective on C flute. Honorable Mention - 2002 NFA Newly Published Music Competition.
