African Percussion

The TTBB edition of African Processional was commissioned by Charles Bruffy and the Phoenix Bach Choir for the educational outreach program. This welcome song uses African Percussion and provides a plethora of creative staging ideas.

Drummer and multi-percussionist Dietrich Wohrlin studied at the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles and the Hanns Eisler Music Academy Berlin known today as 'JIB' (Jazz Institute Berlin). Lengthy study trips through west Africaand Latin America further enhanced his musical and cultural knowledge. Dietrich has been teaching at the JIB since 1997 and at the Academy for Music and Theatre in Rostock since 1998. His principle fields are African Latin andBrazilian drums/percussion and body percussion. He also holds seminars in Methods/Didactics literature study and teaching practice.
