The 3 romances are already a model of writing of the young Fauré, to study and appreciate fully. We should really appreciate the interpretation of Jean Philippe Collard, present on YT. Admittedly, these pieces are fast. But this is not due to Collard. The tempi requested by Fauré are. Each time, they are lively pieces, even a little hasty, probably in the image of their fleeting inspiration, an expression in which Fauré excels...but they are so sublime, that no interpreter could be held accountable for playing them more slowly.
Les 3 romances sont déjà un modèle d'écriture du jeune Fauré... à étudier et apprécier sans réserve.
