The first movement of Dvorak’s lovely Serenade for
Strings, Opus 22, is here arranged for a flute choir of
modest proportions: 3 flutes, plus alto and bass. In
order to keep to the registers of the original, flutes
2 and 3 need at least one player each with a B-foot,
and there is some occasional doubling - though this
could possibly be ignored at a pinch without too much
detriment to the overall feel of the piece. It’s a
wonderful movement, well worth the challenge, for a
concert or just for...(+)
