"Away in a Manger" is a Christmas carol first published
in 1885 in Philadelphia and widely used in the
English-speaking world. In Britain, it is one of the
most popular songs. There are two different tunes for
"Away in a Manger," one of William J. Kirkpatrick
(1885), the other by James R. Murray (1887). Both
versions fit together quite well.
The pan flute, also known as the syrinx, is an ancient musical instrument made up of multiple tubes of different lengths aligned side by side. This instrument belongs to the woodwind family and produces sound when the player blows across the opening of each tube.
