String Ensemble,String Trio Cello,Viola,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1004748 Composed by Rocco Di Pietro. Contemporary. Score and parts. 33 pages. Rocco Di Pietro #4355195. Published by Rocco Di Pietro (A0.1004748). A 12 minute String Quartet first performed by Mivos Quartet. The work emerges from a deep inner space and ends in various silences. The idea of Imaginal listening means that the inner world where the music came to me was a gift. I had to listen to it in my head and write it down. It contains totems, and ghosts of bygone music floating by and interacting on the way to a dance. Various musical 'Odalisques' pass by with other more ominous 'Dead Zones'. I thought I would stop writing music when this piece came to me. There is a complete program note included with the score, and all the parts are included with the score.

Published by Ars Nova Press (A0.1335564). Too Much For Our Thirstby Alexander BurdissArranged for Trombone and PianoDedicated to Courtney CarmackPerformance Time: approx. 7:00This is an adaptation for trombone of a piece originally written for tuba. The Eyes of the Poor from Paris SpleenWritten by Charles Baudelaire, Translated by Arthur Symons Ah! you want to know why I hate you to-day. It will probably be less easy for you to understand than for me to explain it to you; for you are, I think, the most perfect example of feminine impenetrability that could possibly be found. We had spent a long day together, and it had seemed to me short. We had promised one another that we would think the same thoughts and that our two souls should become one soul; a dream which is not original, after all, except that, dreamed by all men, it has been realised by none. In the evening you were a little tired, and you sat down outside a new café at the corner of a new boulevard, still littered with plaster and already displaying proudly its unfinished splendours. The café glittered. The very gas put on all the fervency of a fresh start, and lighted up with its full force the blinding whiteness of the walls, the dazzling sheets of glass in the mirrors, the gilt of cornices and mouldings, the chubby-cheeked pages straining back from hounds in leash, the ladies laughing at the falcons on their wrists, the nymphs and goddesses carrying fruits and pies and game on their heads, the Hebes and Ganymedes holding out at arm's-length little jars of syrups or parti-coloured obelisks of ices; the whole of history and of mythology brought together to make a paradise for gluttons. Exactly opposite to us, in the roadway, stood a man of about forty years of age, with a weary face and a greyish beard, holding a little boy by one hand and carrying on the other arm a little fellow too weak to walk. He was taking the nurse-maid's place, and had brought his children out for a walk in the evening. All were in rags. The three faces were extraordinarily serious, and the six eyes stared fixedly at the new café with an equal admiration, differentiated in each according to age. The father's eyes said: How beautiful it is! how beautiful it is! One would think that all the gold of the poor world had found its way to these walls. The boy's eyes said: How beautiful it is! how beautiful it is! But that is a house which only people who are not like us can enter. As for the little one's eyes, they were too fascinated to express anything but stupid and utter joy. Song-writers say that pleasure ennobles the soul and softens the heart. The song was right that evening, so far as I was concerned. Not only was I touched by this family of eyes, but I felt rather ashamed of our glasses and decanters, so much too much for our thirst. I turned to look at you, dear love, that I might read my own thought in you; I gazed deep into your eyes, so beautiful and so strangely sweet, your green eyes that are the home of caprice and under the sovereignty of the Moon; and you said to me: Those people are insupportable to me with their staring saucer- eyes! Couldn't you tell the head waiter to send them away? So hard is it to understand one another, dearest, and so incommunicable is thought, even between people who are in love!

Violin Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.869285 Composed by Thomas Oboe Lee. 20th Century,Baroque,Classical,Contemporary,Romantic Period. 148 pages. Thomas Oboe Lee #33805. Published by Thomas Oboe Lee (A0.869285). Instrumentation: violin solo & orchestra, 2222-4231-timp-hp-strings Program note. I first heard Irina Muresanu, maybe five years ago, with the Boston Trio in Jordan Hall at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. I was impressed from the very first note she played on her violin. Subsequently I heard her in a chamber music duo recital with pianist Ya-fei Chuang at the Harvard-Epworth Church in Cambridge, Massachusetts. I remember saying to myself, Wow, she has a big, warm sound! One day I would love to write a violin concerto for her! Last year I heard her play the Brahms and the Tchaikovsky violin concerti on separate occasions with the Lexington Symphony and the Boston Classical Orchestra. It was that wow factor again … When I proposed to write a violin concerto for Max Hobart and the Boston Civic Symphony Orchestra, he asked me who I would like to feature as the soloist. I said Irina Muresanu. Max said it was a fabulous choice since he has been thinking of engaging Irina to play with the Civic for some time. Over the past summer I indulged myself in a buying spree of scores and CD recordings of violin concerti. Many composers’ works stood out: concerti by Brahms, Mendelssohn, Sibelius, Stravinsky, Elgar, Prokofiev, Shostakovich, Saint-Saëns, Dvorak, Paganini, Glazunov, Dohnanyi, Nielsen, Spohr, etc. And of course, I did not ignore the gems by Bach and Mozart! The listening to and research of all these concerti masterpieces were quite overwhelming, to say the least. So, by the time I was ready to begin work on my Concerto, I had to put all those scores and CDs aside and begin to find the music in my head. I must confess that it took a while. But eventually I found the seed that brought everything together. And within six weeks, between late September and early November, I completed the short score of the concerto. The orchestration took approximately ten days and the complete work was done on November 21st, 2009. My Violin Concerto, opus 129, is in two parts. Each part consists of a slow section that is followed by a fast one. Part I: Largo, Moderato, Allegro ma non troppo. Part II: Largo, Adagio, Prestissimo. Enjoy!! Concert Band - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.933994 Composed by Nick Mazuk. Concert,Contemporary. Score and parts. 33 pages. Mazuk Music #3236657. Published by Mazuk Music (A0.933994). As a composer, musical ideas pop into my head every day. Most of them are completely unrelated to any piece I am currently working on, and I manage to write some of them down for future reference. The theme to Morning Sunrise is one of those ideas. When I wrote it down, I had no idea that I was ever going to create a piece from it, so I just wrote it down for strings.Several months later, however, I had decided that I wanted to write a piece to thank those who have made my high school music life great. I spent weeks developing 4 or 5 themes and even had half of a piece done at one point, but none of theme worked. I then remembered this one from and realized that it was the perfect theme. The result of taking so long to complete this piece is that it is a very powerful piece where there are no extraneous notes, and no missing ones either. It is one where every detail matters.Includes:ScorePiccoloFluteOboeBassoon 1-2Clarinet in Bb 1-3Bass ClarinetAlto SaxophoneTenor SaxophoneBaritone SaxophoneTrumpet in Bb 1-3Horn in F 1-4Trombone 1-3EuphoniumTubaDouble BassTimpaniDuration: 4 MinutesFor more information about the piece, visit https://nickmazuk.com/Works/MorningSunrise Contact: https://nickmazuk.com/Contact/

Piano Solo - Intermediate - Digital Download By The Beatles. Arranged by Elena Fortin. Sheet Music Single. 4 pages. Published by Elena Fortin
Let It Be is one of my favourite songs from the Beatles. John Lennon and Paul McCartney are credited as the singer/songwriters of this beautiful ballad.
I watched the movie "Yesterday" featuring so many of the Beatles iconic songs and had this song running through my head for days afterwards. Sitting down at the piano, this arrangement came to me in a few hours. I scribbled madly to get it all down and then was discouraged when I found out that the Beatles' collection of music was NOT in our catalog of arrangeable songs! (Normally I check before I write!)
I contacted SMP Press to ask if it would be difficult to try to obtain the copyrights from Sir Paul! I was excited to see his music included in our catalog a few months later! I put the video up as a piano cover on YouTube and got a few requests for the sheet music. So glad to be able to make it available now.
This year, I've been arranging songs that I consider to be important. The popular ballad's longevity is a testament to it's importance in songwriting history.
My arrangement is written in 4/4 time, with left hand that provides the accompaniment. This is an expressive piano solo, and is a challenge to intermediate and early advanced players. The arrangement has four-note chords, some octave work, and an area where there are bass leaps in the left hand. Legato pedalling should be used throughout, with attention to careful fingering to ensure that the melody is played smoothly and expressively. The piano solo can be used as a recital piece, a solo in many different arenas or for your own private enjoyment.
If you like this arrangement, please check out my other piano solos on my publisher page. You can also check out my YouTube channel "the-piano-studio.com", or my website at www.the-piano-studio.com.

Published by Christian Humcke (A0.1023766). Instrumentation: SATB a cappella choir (with divisi)Duration: 6'Completed: January 2017I wrote the poem The Landowner a few years ago in a poetry class at my undergraduate alma mater, Bucknell University. When I heard that there was an opportunity to write for a student formed choir at Peabody, I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to set one of my previously written poems to music. I looked back at poems which I had written, and came across The Landowner. It continues to intrigue me to this day since I am still uncertain as to what it is about. This enigmatic, earthy, and hauntingly repetitive poem poses more questions than it does provide answers. This is something which fascinates me, and which I sought to depict in the music. The Landowner:The landowner sends out his three servants. Each go to work in separate fields; To rake the leaves,to harvest the crops,to pluck the fruits from the tree.Working endlessly,They turn their heads from each other. They refuse to help, they refuse to talk.Good work is done, but for what purpose? The landowner plucks fresh leavesfrom a papaya tree.Although he is blind,he still sees the sun.The mooing of cows andcrowing of roosters ceases. He stands in the shade, waiting for his servants. They offer him papaya,He shakes his head

Full Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.869350 Composed by Thomas Oboe Lee. 20th Century,Baroque,Classical,Contemporary,Romantic Period. Score and parts. 82 pages. Thomas Oboe Lee #14827. Published by Thomas Oboe Lee (A0.869350). Instrumentation: trumpet solo and 2222-4231-timp-2perc-strings. Over the years I have written at least ten orchestral works for Max Hobart including three symphonies and four concertos for saxophone, violin, oboe and cello, respectively. So I was thrilled when Max asked me to write a concerto for trumpet virtuoso Stephen Burns and the Boston Civic Symphony Orchestra. I am familiar with Stephen Burns’ work as a piccolo trumpet player doing concertos from the baroque period. The color of his sound was already in my head. Stephen and I got together in the spring of 2104 and we discussed the project in some detail. We immediately agreed that the work would be in three movements. Each movement would feature a different trumpet: the trumpet in C for the first, the flugelhorn for the second and the piccolo for the last. I began work on the concerto at the end of August and finished it three months later. The work as mentioned earlier is in three movements: 1. Heraldic Beast … Allegro. 2. Bossa Nova in 7/4 … Adagio. 3. Perpetuo Moto … Presto! Enjoy!!!

Christian,Folk,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Score and parts. 11 pages. Dee Braxton-Pellegrino #801720. Published by Dee Braxton-Pellegrino (A0.1206260). A wonderful, sweet old hymn classic arranged for string quartet or string ensemble at an easy grade 2 level. The melody is introduced as a fiddle tune and everyone joins in for a big finale! Everyone one gets to play the melody! Arranged for my own beginning string orchestra students. Lots of lush harmonies underscore the chorus. The fiddle melody came into my head literally during my recovery after hip replacement surgery and I could barely wait to get to my studio to write it down and only after doing so did I realize that it was the verse of this hymn! Also in researching the history behind this hymn, I learned that it was composed by Mr. Webster on his violin!Enjoy!

WE HAVE ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD - 3 GUITARS (see also quartet version)For Classical or Acoustic Guitar - sometimes it's erroneously listed here as Electric Guitar.Derek Hasted writes This is one of two arrangements I made of this piece during the 2020 Coronavirus Lockdown when we all had rather a lot of time on our hands. The other version is a more complex arrangement for 4 guitars - find it on my website belowBoth are set in the key that Louis Armstrong sang it in as part of the James Bond Film On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. The other arrangement (for 4 guitars) is less straightforward - it has a more complex rhythm and an additional guitar part based on the string motifs and acoustic guitar parts in the original soundtrack. But this version holds its head up high - it is still faithful to the original and will appeal to a less-experienced adult or school ensemble. There are two Guitar One parts in this edition - one that sits above the other instruments in pitch, and in a quartet will carry well. The other is at the pitch Louis Armstrong sang. Because of the depth and timbre of the line, the low version will struggle to cut through the accompaniment unless the other parts are played in a subdued voice. In a large ensemble, one can put a few more players on this line, or indeed play both versions - they are completely compatible. Both lines feature the Flugelhorn solo in the original.I hope you enjoy playing this piece!

The left hand provides the power chords of the guitar and bass as well as the rhythm patterns of the drums.CLEFS: For the vast majority of this arrangement, the right hand plays in treble clef and the left hand plays in bass clef. Only in bar 32, the right hand jumps into bass clef for two notes.DYNAMICS & PHRASING: I write all the dynamics and phrasings so that you can recreate the arrangement as it is intended to play from the sheet music only. Many arrangements leave out dynamics and phrasing, but I find it important to incorporate.SUPPORT: I spend a lot of time and energy for writing my own arrangements, so please consider supporting me by buying them. INSTRUMENTAL PARTS***SCORE and CHORAL SCORE SOLD SEPARATELY***Nebraska, My Heartland was written to not only celebrate 150 years of Nebraskan history, but to express my own gratitude for all that the Midwestern way of life has to offer. It celebrates the natural beauty of the Sandhills, prairies, forests, and bluffs, along with the strength of its people, its flourishing family friendly communities, and its deep and rich traditions in the arts. I have lived near mountains, near oceans, and visited some of the most beautiful places in the world, but none of those places have ever felt as much like home as Nebraska. Nebraska, My Heartland incorporates the poetry of both Willa Cather, the famous Nebraskan poet and writer who helped the rest of America gain an appreciation for the pioneer life, and Veronica Torraca-Bragdon, a contemporary poet and friend whose heart will always belong to Nebraska. Cather’s poem, Prairie Spring was chosen because it vividly portrays the struggles of the pioneers who originally settled here, yet juxtaposes this struggle with youthful determination, and the optimism and enthusiasm brought about by hope. Veronica’s poem, titled Nebraska, is the centerpiece for the fanfare and celebration of a state that abounds with success in all of the ways that make Nebraska a great place to live. The music begins as the sun is about to rise and burst forth with the promise of a new day. It speaks of Nebraska’s natural beauty and landscapes while the sweet song of the Western Meadowlark, our state bird, drifts on the wind. Next, the changing seasons and thriving spirit of Nebraska’s people are portrayed with an energetic, youthful melody leading into a celebratory sesquicentennial fanfare. But as the seasons change, the listener is reminded that to thrive is also to persevere, and soon a storm begins to loom. First the rolling thunder, then the rain, and finally the full devastation of nature’s fury are realized by the combined forces of both ensembles. Yet, as hope springs eternal, we are reminded again of the strength of the pioneer and the roots that keep us anchored against the storm. Out of this resilience bursts forth a brilliant light signifying the future that is before us for this generation and the next, ending with words that summarize so eloquently how Nebraskans feel about their home: With loving beauty, you’ll forever shine!INSTRUMENTATION1 Piccolo2 Flute 12 Flute 22 Flute 31 Oboe 11 Oboe 21 Bassoon 11 Bassoon 24 Bb Clarinet 14 Bb Clarinet 24 Bb Clarinet 32 Bb Bass Clarinet1 Eb Alto Saxophone 11 Eb Alto Saxophone 21 Bb Tenor Saxophone1 Eb Baritone Saxophone 3 Bb Trumpet 1 3 Bb Trumpet 2 3 Bb Trumpet 3 3 Bb Trumpet 4 1 F Horn 1 1 F Horn 2 1 F Horn 3 1 F Horn 42 Trombone 12 Trombone 22 Bass trombone3 Euphonium B.C. / Baritone T.C. 6 Tuba 1 Timpani (4 drums) 5 PERCUSSIONSuspended CymbalCrash Cymbal,Wind Chimes,Orchestral Chimes,Snare Drum (3 if available), Bass Drum, *Wind Machine (optional),*Suspended Thundersheet (as available), *Large Timpani Drumhead 1 PITCHED PERCUSSION Glockenspiel,Marimba SATB & Rehearsal PianoTo learn more about the composer, please visit https://www.dmgardner.com

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.851104 By Nine Inch Nails. By Trent Reznor. Arranged by Whimsically Macabre (ASCAP). Contemporary. Score. 4 pages. Stacy Fahrion #4633863. Published by Stacy Fahrion (A0.851104). This solo piano arrangement was inspired by the version on Black Mirror. It's arranged by Stacy Fahrion/Whimsically Macabre Music (ASCAP).I get really excited when music can carry multiple contradictory meanings, and spend a lot of time thinking about how I can mess with my audience by making things sound familiar but wrong. When I saw the Rachel, Jack, and Ashley Too episode of Black Mirror, I recognized the melody of the oddly upbeat pop song Ashley O was singing but couldn't quite place it because unconsciously I knew something was really off, and then slowly it dawned on me that it was a NIN cover, and I flipped out with utter joy that someone had just done something to me that I'm constantly trying to do to them. Every time the song played throughout the episode, I couldn't stop laughing, not just at the lyrics, but especially at a certain trite & upbeat sounding bassline and all of the different musical elements that completely changed the feel of the original. So of course I needed to write my own arrangement of that arrangement. I hope you enjoy it. I've studied piano, but I never really delved into any literature. But I figure that while I write eighteenth-century music, I shouldn't limit myself to just instruments from that era, ergo the first movement to my piano partita. Piano Solo - Digital Download SKU: A0.1033214 Composed by Mark Wilson. Contemporary. Score. 27 pages. Mark Wilson #6268685. Published by Mark Wilson (A0.1033214). When my friend, the composer and pianist Neil Crossland, asked me to write a work for him to perform, he requested that I give the piece a distinctly Scottish flavour. Perhaps as a consequence, hailing from Scotland as I do, the resulting work is distinctly autobiographical in nature. This is a challenging piece, aimed at advanced players. The four movements reflect the preoccupations of four stages of (my) life as seen in hindsight. The word dimensions in the piece's title refers to facets of my own character. The first movement, Complications, represents the self-image of the young. The music is adventurous and academic, full of the potential of a life yet to be lived and the earnest self obsession of youth. The second movement, Romance, is the search for love, though seen through the lens of memory and therefore touched with sadness. The third, Transience, shows the uncertainties of middle age, so full of frustration and of nostalgia. This movement contains my setting of the Jacobian poem Will Ye No Come Back Again?. The last movement, Revelry, blows away the uncertainties of the third movement with the driving energy of a Scottish reel. Perhaps increasing age brings a certain perspective; what does it matter if you have more past than future? Just get up and dance and let Dr. Music sweep your cares away. The piece features a musical fragment (first heard in bar 26 of the first movement) which has been the cause of much amusement between Neil Crossland and myself over the years. Neil has been composing music since his teens but the art has only much more recently become a big part of my life. However, musical ideas have always had a tendency to come into my head and, several years ago, I decided to play these two bars to Neil. Every so often, in the years that followed, he would teasingly ask me how my new piece was coming on, knowing full well that I'd have to admit that my magnum opus was still only two bars long! By setting the melodic fragment at the heart of this composition I have finally ensured that he can tease me about it no longer. More importantly, I hope that Neil enjoys our little in-joke.The audio file for this work is beautifully performed by the work's dedicatee, Neil Crossland.

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.828227 Composed by John Hatton. Arranged by Paul Thurmond. 20th Century,Baroque,Christian,Sacred. Score. 7 pages. Paul Thurmond #4968929. Published by Paul Thurmond (A0.828227). Tune: DUKE STREETUse: Prelude, PostludeOne Sunday my church was singing Jesus Shall Reign Where’er the Sun as the opening hymn. It’s our tradition that the last stanza of a hymn is sung in unison, so that I as the organist can change the harmonization and keep things interesting. Sometimes I know ahead of time what I’m going to do, and sometimes I make it up on the spot.On this particular morning I planned on being spontaneous. (Can spontaneity be planned?) When we got to the final stanza, I threw on the 16′ pedal reed and went to town.I don’t know if this is the case for all musicians, but while I’m playing my brain is working on several different levels. Most of these are involved in actually playing the music, but there’s also a running commentary on how things are going. This commentary is usually really boring: It’s going okay. It’s going okay. It’s going okay. Sometimes the messages are more interesting: Uh-oh. She just dropped her mute. I missed that chord; remember to circle it when we’re done. My page turner appears to be on fire. So: We’re in the final stanza of Jesus Shall Reign Where’er the Sun. Big, majestic hymn. Over a hundred congregants and choir members are enthusiastically singing in unison. I’m leading them from the organ with an improvised accompaniment that involves all of my limbs. It’s fair to say that I was concentrating hard.Suddenly the commentary part of my brain breaks in: Dude, your feet are totally playing Canon in D. Cool!Canon in D is the most famous work of Johann Pachelbel, a German composer who preceded Bach by a few decades. It’s overused at weddings, but it’s actually a really good piece of music. The original is for three violins and a basso continuo part, which would usually have been played by harpsichord and cello. In this case, the basso continuo plays the same eight measures again and again throughout the piece. This technique of repetition is called a ground bass. While that’s going on, the violins play several different themes on top of it.When I was improvising that Sunday, my feet had accidentally wandered into that ground bass part, which happened to fit nicely with the melody we were singing. During the sermon (sorry Pastor!) I started going through the violin themes in my head, seeing if any of them could also match up with the hymn tune. Some of them worked and some didn’t. I decided to write a sort of theme and variations, where the hymn tune appears in various forms. Sometimes it’s played along with one of the violin themes, and sometimes a violin theme serves as an interlude on its own. And except for one passage, the left hand is always playing some version of the basso continuo theme. I also changed the meter from 4/4 to 3/4 to make it more interesting. It culminates in a climax worthy of a king. I hope you enjoy it.

Phoebe Chen #4718415. Published by Phoebe Chen (A0.868115). This hymn was written after traumatic events in Spafford's life. The first was the death of his son at the age of two and the great Chicago fire of 1871, which ruined him financially (he had been a successful lawyer and had invested significantly in property in the area of Chicago that was extensively damaged by the great fire) His business interests were further hit by the economic downturn of 1873, at which time he had planned to travel to Europe with his family on the SS Ville Du Havre. in a late change of plan, he sent the family ahead while he was delayed on business concerning zoning problems following the Great Chicago fire. while cross the Atlantic Ocean, the ship sank rapidly after a collision with a sea vessel. and all four of Spafford's daughters died. His wife Anna survived and sent him the now famous telegram : saved aloneshortly afterwards, as Spattord traveled to meet his grieving wife, he was inspired to write these words as his ship passed near where his daughters had died.Bliss called his tune Ville du Havre, from the name of the stricken vessel.chicago .

Cool Wind Music Digital #3220995. Published by Cool Wind Music Digital (A0.841273). This is a folk/rock ballad with a twist as the 'story' it tells comes straight out of a novel by German author Günter Grass', Local Anaesthetic (1969). Phillipp (Flip) Scherbaum, a 17-year old Berlin high school student, wants to do something, anything to protest what he has been reading in newspapers has been happening to the people of Vietnam. (Remember this is 1967!) He comes up with an idea: he has a little Dachshund puppy called Max. Flip decides to burn Max right outside the most famous café in Berlin, Kempinski's (it is still there), to shock complacent Berliners into paying attention to what is happening in Vietnam. His history teacher, Eberhard (Hardy) Starusch, agrees to Flip's protest idea but draws the line firmly against killing an innocent animal. Hardy sets out to dissuade his student from carrying out this doggiecide. Instead, he resolves to steer Flip to less harmful ways of protesting. The effort drives Hardy to a lot of hard thinking and hard drinking and a lot of trips to the dentist!Poor Max is a realisation of one of Hardy's suggestions to Flip: to write and perform a protest song outside Kempinski's - and elsewhere in Berlin, too. You will not be surprised to hear that head-strong Flip rejects this suggestion but I have taken up Hardy's idea and written my own protest song for Flip. The words and the music are my own: I have not borrowed either from anyone else (except for one little phrase which I discovered I had unconsciously borrowed from Robert Schumann)!
