Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1114067 By Budapest Scoring String Quartet. By David Warin Solomons. Classical,Comedy,Contemporary. Full Performance. Duration 136. David Warin Solomons #715968. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.1114067). Instrumental quartet based on my choral piece The Choir in the Rain which is a sequence of limericks written and set to music by the composer imagining the scene if a choir were made to sing in the rain, complete with colds, coughs, sneezes and fever. Original limericks: (Introductory words: pitter patter pom etc) Our conductor was trying to train our choir to sing in the rain the music got wet and to our great regret we finally had to refrain So all of us went back indoors and we sang from our poor dripping scores but the audience cheered as we persevered and demanded sev'ral encores It was then that we all started sneezing the basses were coughing and wheezing The altos in harm'ny sniffed not very calmly but the audience thought we were teasing The Sopranos then noticed their dresses were shrinking and causing distresses the buttons they popped and the tenors they hopped as those buttons shot right past their faces It seemed that the choir was dissolving and the room started slowly revolving we'd all caught a cough it near carried us off as the fever we'd got was evolving We finally reached the last ditty in that chilly and rain sodden city oh we're told that in Spain it just rains on the plain but here it soaks both plain and pretty Performed by Violin 1: Csongor Veér Violin 2: Anna Fehér Viola: Péter Kondor Cello: Mátyás Ölveti of Budapest Scoring.

Saxophone Quartet SATB - Intermediate-Advanced - Digital Download SKU: F2.FM135 Composed by Franz Joseph Haydn. Arranged by Robert Rainford. Score and parts. 56 pages. Forton Music - Digital #FM135. Published by Forton Music - Digital (F2.FM135). ISBN 9790570480340.Saxophone Quartet SATB. One of Haydn's last string quartets arranged for saxophone quartet - the height of elegant and sophisticated writing for a small group of instruments. It takes its name from the second movement, in which Haydn uses the anthem 'God Save Emperor Francis' (which he wrote for Emperor Francis II) as the theme for a set of variations. This tune later became the German National Anthem, and is also well known as the melody for the hymn 'Glorious Things Of Thee Are Spoken'. In four movements, the first and last of which are extended compositions in sonata form. The second movement is the set of variations mentioned above, in which each instrument takes a turn at stating the tune, while the other instruments weave their variations round it. The third movement is a boisterous Minuett. An extended work, requiring neat playing from all musicians. The soprano part is particularly challenging, requiring nimble fingering and some rapid tonguing. The minuet and trio is easier but still rewarding. A chance for a sax quartet to try music from a different historical period.

Violin, Viola, Cello, String Quartet - Advanced Intermediate - Digital Download By Train. Arranged by Sarah Cellobat Chaffee. Score, Set of Parts. 17 pages. Published by Sarah Chaffee
Make sure your quartet is prepared for wedding season with this beautiful arrangement of Train's "Marry Me" for string quartet! Perfect for ceremonies, cocktail hour, and even proposals, this arrangement brings the beloved classic song to life with just as much passion and as many layered harmonies as the original. Playable by students and sightreadable by professionals - make sure your V2 and violist are rhythmically locked in when they create the guitar part together!
Why choose Cellobat Charts arrangements? For any musician who knows what they're doing, the answer is easy: just listen to them. Every freelance musician has thrown hard-earned money away on questionable, error-filled charts by unknown arrangers from weird corners of the Internet. But watch out -- inferior arrangements not only make gigs less enjoyable to play, but they also make your group sound bad to your client and audience, no matter how great your players really are. That's why Cellobat Charts is here: to provide students and working string players alike with high-quality versions of highly requested music. My arrangements are guaranteed to be energetic, fun to play, and enjoyable to listen to, whether or not you're familiar with the original songs. Hear the difference for yourself! Full videos of many Cellobat Charts arrangements are available on YouTube so you know exactly what you're getting. Click "Watch" near the item details at the top of the page for full video of "Marry Me." Crowd pleasing guaranteed.
Sarah "Cellobat" Chaffee earned her bachelor's degree in cello performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music and is now based in Las Vegas. She currently performs with Aerosmith in their "Deuces Are Wild" residency at The Park MGM Theater on the Las Vegas Strip. Sarah is also the principal cellist in David Perrico's Pop Strings Orchestra, a 14-piece band that performs every Friday and Saturday at Caesars Palace, and she plays regularly for Premiere Wedding Music and Bella Electric Strings. Sarah has performed and recorded with many other artists including Halsey, Disturbed, Mötley Crüe, Celine Dion, Kygo, Ricky Martin, Sarah Brightman, Il Divo, and Lady Antebellum. She can be found at:

String Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1183534 Composed by Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de St. Georges. Arranged by Robert Debbaut. Classical,Contest,Festival,Historic,Multicultural,World. 28 pages. ROBERT DEBBAUT #783207. Published by ROBERT DEBBAUT (A0.1183534). How is it that one can be born a slave in French colonial Guadeloupe and rise to be among Paris’ musical giants, to become a colonel in the French Army as well as the frequent dinner guest of princes and potentates? The story of Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges, is surely an interesting one, even the stuff of which movies are made.Joseph Bologne’s father, Georges Bologne de Saint-Georges was a French planter. Saint-Georges was the name of his plantation. He impregnated Anne, the Senegalese slave of his wife, who bore him a son in 1745. Uncharacteristic of many of these sort of relationships he acknowledged the child was his and gave him his family name. When he was seven Bologne’s father took him to Paris for his education, enrolling him in a boarding school. Two years later he and the child’s mother returned to France and set up housekeeping as a family in Paris’ Saint-Germain-des-Prés district. At age thirteen Joseph’s father enrolled him in the Royal Technical Academy of Fencing and Swordsmanship. He quickly became the finest swordsman in the academy, perhaps in all of Paris. Upon graduation he was made an Officer of the King’s Bodyguard and a chevalier (an honorary knighthood). He went on to serve tours of duty in the French Army during the Seven Years War (1756-1763) and later after the French Revolution, where he was Colonel and commander of an all-Black regiment of the Revolutionary Army. All this in spite of the fact that French law forbade him, a man of African heritage, to become a citizen, to retain his father’s royal title of “Gentleman of the King’s Chamber,†or to marry outside his class. There is limited information about Bologne’s musical training, but he was obviously so well-skilled that Italian violinist-composer Antonio Lolli (1725-1802) wrote two violin concertos for him and French composer François-Joseph Gossec (1734-1829) dedicated his set of String Trios, Op. 9 to Bologne. Lolli may have worked with him on violin technique and Gossec composition, but this may be apocryphal. Bologne played in Gossec’s orchestra, and was later both leader and conductor of the group. As a composer Joseph Bologne was quite prolific, composing six operas, fourteen violin concertos, four symphonies concertantes, and numerous chamber works and songs. His Six String Quartets, Op. 1, Nos. 1-6 date from 1770-1771 and were published by the Paris publishing house of Jean-Georges Sieber (1738-1822) in 1773 (There are a total of 18 quartets: Six Quartets “au goût du jour†[up-to-date] from 1779 and the Opus 14 set of six which date from 1785). The Opus 1 quartets are dedicated to Anne Louis Alexandre de Montmorency (1724-1812), 7th Prince of Robeck (Robecq) and Grand Duke of Spain. The Opus 1 quartets all display a similarity to the Italian opera overtures from earlier in the Eighteenth Century (often called “sinfoniaâ€) in that they have an overall “A-B-A†form with the ‘A’ sections being robust allegros and all ‘B’ sections marked “rondo.†As such, in arranging them for string orchestra it seemed quite natural to rename them “overtures.†Certain liberties were taken by the arranger in order to maintain the integrity of the classic Rondo formula. All six have been arranged in this manner for string orchestra. They vary in length from twelve to almost twenty minutes. If you wish to obtain parts, write to debbaut@gmail.com and pay $42 via venmo or $40 via personal check and they will be sent to you in pdf format.

Fl. Ob. Cl. Hn in F. Bsn. - Intermediate-Advanced - Digital Download SKU: F2.FM605 Composed by Traditional/Frank Bridge. Arranged by Robert Rainford. An arrangement of this well known melody for wind quintet. Score and parts. 31 pages. Forton Music - Digital #FM605. Published by Forton Music - Digital (F2.FM605). ISBN 9790570485048.Frank Bridge arranged this well known Irish air for string quartet, here presented in a version for wind quintet. Unusually, Bridge starts the arrangement with an extended fantasy upon the main theme, never stating it completely. A series of stabbing chords begin the music, and help to mark out the start of each section. Elements of the tune then weave in and out of the music, and are passed equally between all five players. The first four notes of the theme in rhythmic diminution are transformed into a delicate arpeggio that permeate the music, all accompanied with the lush chords of early 20th century English music. After about one hundred bars the music reaches an impassioned climax before the tune is finally stated in its full form, with each instrument in turn taking a solo phrase accompanied by the others. A final, peaceful coda using the delicate arpeggio of the first sections brings the piece to a close.

Connie Boss #6273497. Published by Connie Boss (A0.801616). Verse lyrics from Matthew 5: 3-8. Singing is praying. It's like praying twice a quote by our church priest, Father Mike Murphy. He loves music and he says this is such a nice way to pray. This can be an upbeat gathering song, or it can be slowed down for offertory or just a prayer song. This version is for a strings trio and piano. On this version, you can play it in different ways. As written, I have a trio with refrain and 3 verses. I then have a final refrain that has an echo part and a little different ending. You could do this as a quartet by a third person playing on the echo part earlier in the refrain. I will leave that open for you to decide how you want to do it. I do have other versions you can purchase as well. cdboss@cvalley.netLyrics:We Sing in PrayerVerses from Matthew 5: 3-12Composed by Connie Boss Refrain:We gather hereWe sing in prayerOur voices heardBy you O LordWe sing in hope we sing in praiseTo you O LordOur voice we raiseIn prayer we sing! String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.534402 Composed by Jacques Leguerney. 20th Century,Standards. Score and parts. 125 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #3457403. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.534402). Jacques Leguerney (1906-1997) composed two string quartets. The Premier Quatuor à cordes was composed in 1925 during Leguerneyâ??s private piano and composition study with French pianist Thérèse Cahen. His second quartet, subject of this publication by Musik Fabrik, was written between November 1947 and September 1948. The four movements are: I. Allegro moderato; II. Intermezzo; III. Scherzando; IV. Presto-Andantino. This work was, in part, Leguerneyâ??s response to the Premier Quatuor à cordes (inédit) by his colleague, Henri Sauguet. Leguerney stated in a personal interview with Patrick Choukroun (18 May 1989) that: â??I wrote it a bit in opposition to Sauguetâ??s Premier Quatuor. It seemed to me that his quartet was without interest: just scratchings! I wanted to express my way of looking at it from the classical viewpoint of the past: it is almost in the spirit of Mozart, except for the harmonic language, of course. In fact, I wanted to fight against everything that has been done to a quartet since Beethovenâ??s last ones.â? The premiere of the Quatuor à cordes en ré mineur was by the Quatuor Pro Arte at the Abbaye de Royaumont. Before this performance, Poulenc sent Leguerney the following note: â??Fortunate man for whom twelve strings are enough to charm people, I wish you good luck and respectfully embrace you.â? (Handwritten letter, Reims, 4 September 1959). Leguerney was appointed artistic director of the Lumen recording company in 1951, and remained in this position until 1959. He produced four recordings of his music, including the Quatuor Pro Arteâ??s recording of the Quatuor à cordes en ré mineur (1947-1948) (Lumen, LD 2.440, 1958). This disc won the Grand Prix du Disque de lâ??Académie Charles Cros on 13 March 1959. The Pro Arteâ??s members were Suzanne Plazonich, Violin I; Chantal Beylier, Violin II; Nicole Gendreau, Viola; and Micheline Burtin, Cello. Francis Poulenc wrote to Leguerney concerning this recording: â??It is very good Leguerney. Of course, frivolous as I am and shall always remain, it is the 2nd movement that I prefer. Between us, I am like you: I prefer the scherzos after the andantes; that way one is not forced to write a Finale allegro. Yours pleases me very much, in fact, so to my ears it is III-IV-I-II, in the order of pleasure.â? (Manuscript letter, Bagnols, 14 October 1959) The radio station France I broadcast the Quatuor with on 11 July 1959 on the program Schola of the series Concert de musique contemporaine, again with the Quatuor Pro Arte. An archive recording of this broadcast exists on magnetic tape. Critic Claude Rostand wrote: â??Jacques Leguerney does not seem to have looked for special innovations either in form or language. His basic thought seems especially to have written a quartet, that is to say on one hand to have used the four voices with elegance and originality, clarity and homogeneity (four-part writing seems to always have come naturally to him, even at the piano), and on the other hand to exploit all of the supple cushioning that can result from the caress of a bow on a string.â? Critic Emile Vuillermoz wrote: â??His only ambition is to expresses clear and affectionate melodic ideas, in a highly distinguished, elegant and refined language, meaning an homage, in the beginning of our century, to the trios of the greatest stylists of our time. In fact, it is from the vocabulary of Fauré, Debussy and Ravel that he takes his grammar and syntax and that with which he carries out with his this harmonic writing that is both supple and sparse, that is so congenial to the association of four string instruments. This quartet, whose first movement is of a rare perfection, is a delicate enchantment.â? The Musik Fabrik edition of the Quatuor à cordes en ré mineur is taken from a photocopy of the composerâ??s manuscript of the full score. We also had access to the quartet parts found in Leg.

It was adopted in 2003 and is the official anthem of the country. The lyrics were written by Pavlo Chubynsky and the music was composed by Mykhailo Verbytsky. The anthem is based on a poem written by Chubynsky in 1862, which tells of the struggles of the Ukrainian people throughout their history and their determination to remain a free and independent nation. The lyrics are considered to be a powerful expression of Ukrainian national identity and patriotism. The anthem has become a symbol of the Ukrainian people's strength and resilience in the face of adversity. The song is often sung at public events and gatherings in Ukraine, and it is a popular choice for choirs and orchestras to perform.

String Quartet String Quartet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1402959 Composed by Robert A. Howard. 21st Century,Chamber,Classical,Contemporary,Contest,Festival. 95 pages. Robert A. Howard #986178. Published by Robert A. Howard (A0.1402959). This Second String Quartet is in four movements, and runs to over 30 minutes long. The work uses the traditionally expected forms for each movement, as a framework or starting point for departure, but also uses a conceptual title for the work as a whole. In this case 'Locomotion', or the conveying of motion (especially with regards to train travel), was used as a compositional stimulus in creating extended pattern-based textures, as well as the development, or journey, of motifs and themes. Otherwise, there is no particular attempt to evoke the sound of particular modes of transportation, or certain landscapes or scenes. Such imagery is left at the discretion of the listener. Formally, the work begins with a loose sonata form first movement, based around E (modal minor). The second movement, on A, bears the hallmarks of a busy scherzo, while the sentimental slow movement in D minor that follows is based on ground basses, in a ternary form of two varied themes. The extended finale grows out of the previous movement, with a jig-like rondo theme on another ground bass. Contrasting episodes feature modulating material, as well as a secondary theme in C. The final section sees a cyclic return of the first movement's first theme, now at the finale's faster tempo, and in the closing key of G minor. The work as a whole sees much use of canonic, or heterophonic textures, within a broadly minimalist style.  Duration: 32 minutes.Registered with PRS (Performing Rights Society, UK).Composer's website: www.roberthowardmusic.co.uk

Bassic Music Publishing #1925855. Published by Bassic Music Publishing (A0.921372). A string quartet piece perfect for almost any level ensemble! A moving, emotional canon with a peaceful eighth note ostinato, Rainshine was written as a sermon to the serenity of life and the beauty of all experiences. While awe-inspiring enough when experienced in nature, Rainshine is a reflection on the human condition, and how our suffering, our rain allows us to reflect even more light when the sun comes out. A fantastic piece for early intermediate student groups, or even professional ensembles. the beauty is in its fairly simple nature. Rainshine doesn't brag; It's a simple run with bouncing melodies and gorgeous harmonic resolves, perfect for performance in any church or school, or even as a recreational piece for experienced musicians.

Duration 2 minutes, 40 seconds. E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital #8559-E. Published by E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital (MQ.8559-E). UPC: 600313485596. English. The Seasons was commissioned by the South Bend Chamber Singers, Nancy Menk, conductor, and first performed on March 3, 2013 by the South Bend Chamber Singers with the Euclid Quartet in a concert devoted to music about the weather. The texts for this work were selected by the composer, and they represent three different time periods, the 17th, 19th and early 20th centuries, to show that writers have long been fascinated by the seasons and by the distinct weather conditions that each season brings. Although certain types of weather, such as wind or rain, may occur in any of the seasons, the descriptions of weather in these four poems present specific weather conditions which commonly occur in each of the four seasons: a still, hot, sultry day interrupted by the movement of a light breeze from the hills (summer); the cooling morning mists and light frost which signal the coming of winter (autumn); the bitter iciness of fierce winds and frozen air-in this poem, further compared with man's ingratitude (winter); the warm rains and southerly winds that melt the ice and bring about new life (spring). Throughout this piece various musical devices are employed to underscore or even interpret the words. These devices include text painting, contrapuntal structures (double canon and fugue), and dramatically shifting harmonic colors as each season unfolds. The contrasting performing forces of mixed choir and string quartet are particularly well-suited for presenting, very colorfully, the various musical depictions of the weather conditions and characteristics of each of the seasons. -Frank FerkoDuration: 2:40.

String Quartet String Quartet - Digital Download SKU: A0.1027526 Composed by Martin Watt. Contemporary. Score and parts. 37 pages. Martin Watt #1988647. Published by Martin Watt (A0.1027526). The String Quartet no II comprises four movements: 1. Preludio, Passacaglia, Minuetto and Trio and Rondo. The first movement is fast and furious and cast in a modified sonata form - announcing two contrasting themes with a transitional section in between. The development section fulfills the role of various transformations and fragmental modifications of segmented thematic material, adding instabitily to the movement. The recapitulation is truncated, rather referential to the exposition and presented in reversed order. The second movement is a plaintive passacaglia, with a recurring eight-bar melody - in this case not traditional in nature as the bassline mostly carried the melody throughout, but nw distributed between all the string instuments. The theme is heard fourteen times. The use of textural contrast and canonic procedures add to the contrapuntal nature of the movement. The Minuetto and Tro movement is strikingly neo-tonal, and but sudden shifts of scalar centricities in the Minuetto add to suspension and elements of surprise. The Trio is more lyrical in character and fluttering fragments create dialogue between the members of the quartet. The last movement is cast in a modified Rondo form. The refrain parts are continuously presented in different textural and harmonic content. The alternating first episode draws material from the first movement and the second from the third movement, resulting in a cyclic structure of the work as a whole. The musical language is loosely based within extended tonality, with modal intersections and dissonant colours, making consonant sonoroties slightly ambiguous and unpredictable.2016 Chamber Music Contest Entry.

UKRAINIAN BELL CAROL, String Quartet for 2 violins, viola, celloEasy/Beginner LevelScore: 3 pagesParts: 4 pages Time: 2'MY QUARTET VERSIONS, in short notice work fine for solo, two parts and three parts however I also offer individual versions for one, two and three parts that are more detailed for these ensembles. Please visit https://www.sheetmusicplus.com/search?Ntt=sherry+lewis+publishing for all of the titles I offer. If you can’t find a title then contact me through www.baysbest.com/smp-arrangeme/ and I’ll give you the link back to Sheet Music Plus’s listing.VERSATILE Titles that include four parts are written with the idea that they can be performed with 1, 2, 3 or 4 musicians. Most of the contemporary/popular titles include a chord chart for a bass instrument.PRACTICE needs would vary according to the level of the performers but my goal is to be sight-readable for most performers and groups. AUDIO SAMPLE The 30 second mp3 is frequently shortened and may not start at the introduction to get to the reprise. The actual introduction will be in the sheet music.LISTENABILITY I have performed thousands of weddings and special events. I make it a goal for the music to carry as well as possible through loud and large space situations. ARRANGEMENTS usually follow the original version. There is an mp3 where you can hear 30 seconds and get a feeling of the originality of the work.EXCELLENT for corporate events, weddings, social gatherings and recitals.APPROPRIATE for students and schools.CHURCH REPERTOIRE I’m always adding more titles.
