Choral Choir,Choral,SATB Chorus - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1473148 Composed by P.D. Arranged by Jesse Ayers. Christian,Religious,Sacred,Traditional. 46 pages. Jesse Auers #1050770. Published by Jesse Auers (A0.1473148). A suite of four old hymns (each is available separately): Softly and Tenderly, There Is a Fountain, When I Survey the Wondrous Cross, and an uptempo Amazing Grace. (See Youtube link for a medley of excerpts from each.)I. SOFTLY AND TENDERLYA quiet setting expressing the longing of the Savior for us to “come home.” Beginning with unison men over a simple Copland-esque accompaniment, it contains both the traditional harmonization familiar to audiences, as well as some brief, striking sojourns to remote tonalities used to underscore texts such as “though we have sinned He has mercy and pardon.”II. THERE IS A FOUNTAIN – ARE YOU WASHEDAn a cappella medley of the title hymn along with “Are You Washed?” and “Nothing But The Blood.” It begins slowly and softly with unison women singing the opening phrase “There is a fountain….” Later, the tempo picks up into a camp-meeting style for the other two hymns.III. WHEN I SURVEY THE WONDROUS CROSSA cappella. Austere and stately. The first verse is set with the traditional harmonization, the second verse is dramatically re-harmonized to paint the text “See from His head, His hands, His side.”IV. AMAZING GRACE COLLAGEA joyous, celebratory, up-tempo setting that weaves numerous quotes of other hymns into the fabric of John Newton’s beloved text.

Family life size portraits where hanging on a corridor. Another room was full of swords and ancient family weapons. In the end of the dream a dangerous Entity approached the house, Grandpa disappears and I had to leave the place in a hurry without being noticed. I climbed up the house and went hiding on the celling. I could than see a middle aged, middle-Lower class lady coming in the House, she was very stiff, all dressed in black like a widow. It was a very weary feeling, I woke up to never forget this dream. About 20 years later I was in that garden. It was really abandoned and I spend much of my time hanging there, I wrote a lot of music in this garden. I knew about The owner of this garden, he was living not so far away from me. Curious I decided to visit him. He leaved in the house that I dreamed of and he was actually my Father but I did not know that he was my Father and either did he knew about me being his son. Guitar - Intermediate - Digital Download SKU: ZY.DO-1522 Composed by Francis Bebey. Arranged by Ingrid Riollot. Score. 5 pages. Les Editions Doberman-Yppan (digital) #DO 1522. Published by Les Editions Doberman-Yppan (digital) (ZY.DO-1522). Son originalité continue de résonner dans le monde entier depuis son décès à la fin du mois de mai 2001.Francis Bebey was born in Douala in July 1929, into a large family where his father, a pastor, struggled to feed his children. But Francis had the opportunity to go to school. Admiring his elder brother, Marcel Eyidi Bebey, he educated himself, distinguished himself, and eventually received a scholarship to go and take his baccalaureate in France. We approached the end of the 1950s when he arrived in La Rochelle. More than ever, in this France where Africans were looked at with curiosity, condescension, or disdain, Francis relied on his intellectual resources. A diligent worker, he obtained his Baccalaureate, then moved to Paris where he started English studies at the Sorbonne. One day, he knew what truly attracted him: he wanted to do radio. Francis learned his craft in France and in the USA.After working for a few years as a reporter, he was hired in 1961 as an international civil servant in the UNESCO Information Department. In parallel, Francis had always been drawn to musical creation. His very serious daytime activity didnâ??t prevent him from frequenting jazz clubs in the evenings. In Paris, the Jazz, the trendy music of that time, but also rumba and salsa attracted him. He collected records and attended numerous concerts. With his accomplice Manu Dibango, Francis took the stage and played music.Francis liked classical music since his childhood. He grew up listening to the cantatas and oratorios of Bach or Handel that his father had sung in the temple. He became passionate about the guitar, impressed by the Spanish and South American masters, and decided to learn to strum the instrument himself. He started composing guitar pieces, blending the various influences that flow through him with the traditional African music he had carried within since childhood. His approach captivated the director of the American Cultural Center (then located in the Saint-Germain neighborhood of Paris), who offered him the opportunity to perform in front of an audience. Francis gave his first guitar recital there (1963) in front of a mesmerized audience. His first solo album was released shortly thereafter.Gradually, Francis became recognized as a musician and composer. Several albums of the African guitar ambassador, as described by the press, were released. He also wrote books, to the point that his artistic career became challenging to reconcile with his career as a civil servant. In 1974, even though he had become the General Manager in charge of music at UNESCO, he took the bold leap and resigned from this prestigious institution to dedicated himself to the three activities that interested him: music, literature, and journalism. He explored the traditional musical heritage of the African continent, notably through the thumb piano sanza, and the polyphonic music of the Central African pygmies, or singing in his native language and composing humoristic songs in French!Success followed. Francis Bebey traveled the world: from France to Brazil, Cameroon to Sweden, Germany to the Carribean, or Morocco to Japan... the list of countries where he was invited to perform, gives lectures, or meets readers is very long. In addition to public recognition, he enjoyed the recognition of his fellow musicians, such as guitarist John Williams or Venezuelan Antonio Lauro, who invited him to be a part of the jury for a classical guitar competition in Caracas. His life was the journey of an African pioneer, a man rooted in his cultural heritage and carrying a message of sharing and hope for the world. His originality continues to vibrate around the world since his passing at the end of May 2001.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1023644 Composed by Ben Ledochowski. 20th Century,Contemporary,New Age. Score. 12 pages. Ben Ledochowski #6217585. Published by Ben Ledochowski (A0.1023644). The Dreaming Sea was my first paid composition commission, a piece I wrote in April 2020. For the composition commission, my author friend Sterling Wisniewski requested me to score a short story of his, with the score I provided being expected to tell the story of the words through music and accompany original artwork. His short story is included as follows:A cardboard boat sifts the surface of the sea. A little girl, eyes closed, arms wide and crowned with a paper hat, stands at the front of the deck. Unsinkable - that's what she was. Her imagination bounced the boat on the tension of theworld, almost like it wasn't there. Her eyes were closed, yet she saw everything. On shore, a crowd of dirty sailors went about their work. Nasty mouths swore and harsh fists carried their cargo to their strong, dirty boat. A boy, no taller than a barrel, was in the midst of the buff shoulders and fit forearms. He peaked between the muscle mountains. He saw her. Eyes closed and arms wide, sailing away from the Sun and into the appearing Moon. The wind flapped her hair like the sail of a boat. The boy pried between the men and ran to the end of the dock, stuck his flat hand over his forehead to see. The boy could've sworn that she saw him. He could've sworn the boat swooped in a foot from his face. He could've sworn he heard her giggle. If anything, he thought he knew she saw him.The boy's father, the largest of all the men, wearing a real sailor's hat, gripped the boy's shoulder, spun him away from view of the cardboard boat, and without a word dragged him to the solid wooden ship in front of them. The robust crew pulled ropes and pushed out to set sail towards the setting Sun in the west. The boy soon slipped out of his father's grip and ran to the edge of the boat. Standing on his tiptoes, he hovered his eyes over the dock. There she was - eyes closed and arms wide, the wind flowing through her hair while her cardboard boat skipped the seas like a stone. he could've sworn she was thinking about him. he could've sworn he would see her again. Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.915701 Composed by Richard Joseph Barber. Christian,Contemporary,Gospel,Sacred. Score. 9 pages. Barber Music Company #4727367. Published by Barber Music Company (A0.915701). DedicationSometime in the 1980's, Richard Tober, a brother in Christ who was also an appliance repair man, came to our house on Hill Street in Coloma, Michigan to fix our kitchen range. He knew that I was a composer, and during the course of his time with us that day he told about his love for Jesus and his aspiration to write poetry with music to express that love. He didn't feel he was equipped to put music to his words, but he did have a poem that he gave me, wondering if I would set it to music for him. It was a difficult task because Richard's poetry was not set up in any formal poetic fashion; it was, however, a fulfilling task because his poem was such a simple, childlike, personal expression of his love for the Lord. I Am Going Home to Glory is the result of our collaboration. He was thrilled with the outcome. Now that Richard has left this world to be with Jesus, I am happy that God allowed and enabled me to set Richard's poem to music. -Richard Barber

B-Flat Clarinet,Piano - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.548715 Composed by Martin Luther. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Easter,Instructional,Standards. Score and part. 4 pages. Jmsgu3 #3411741. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.548715). Out of the Depths I Cry to You by Martin Luther arranged for clarinet & piano. The first verses feature modified counterpoint and harmony proceeding at quarter = 82. The final verse is reharmonized for maximum dramatic effect at a more contemplative tempo such as quarter = 64. Features the entire range of the instrument. Very powerful selection for Lent or Easter. Duration (3 verses) 3:05, 36 ms. Score: 3 pg. Solo part: 1 pg. The piano reads from the score. Out of the Depths Aus tiefer Not schrei ich zu dir (From deep affliction I cry out to you), is, of course, a hymn composed by Martin Luther. Moreover, Luther also wrote the lyrics, essentially a paraphrase of Psalm 130. First published in 1524, it is also one of eight songs in the original Lutheran hymnal. It appears likewise in many hymnals and in different translations. The lyrics furthermore stimulated compositions from the Renaissance to the contemporary. Consequently, composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach built an entire chorale cantata on it. Other composers similarly contributed pieces, such as Felix Mendelssohn and Max Reger. Luther Background Martin Luther, (1483 –1546) was a German professor of theology, composer, priest, and moreover, an influential character in the Protestant Reformation. Luther had a momentous impact on church and society due to his contributions to the musical arts. He wanted to disseminate the gospel among mankind and with this intention thought that the best way to do that was through music. Influence It is important to realize that other musicians, and their descendants, were encouraged by Luther’s songs and wrote their own hymns. Luther, to be sure, had a thorough musical education. For example, he knew secular and sacred songs from an early age. He, in particular, played the lute well and sang in the monastery when he was a monk. That is to say, music was an essential part of his life. He in fact first began writing songs in 1523, sometimes writing the melody as well as the lyrics. Luther was certainly able to evaluate the composers of his time. He thought especially highly of Josquin des and Ludwig Senfl. He was also acquainted, with this in mind, with other composers and their works. Legacy The Lutheran musical ethos soon covered all of Germany and later significantly fashioned Protestant musical culture. Heinrich Schütz and Johann Sebastian Bach are the most compelling evidence of this Protestant musical culture. Additionally, as a point often overlooked, the pedal organ, first refined in northern Germany, became universally prevalent. As a matter of fact, Dieterich Buxtehude established a regular evening organ concert series in Lübeck. Another key point is that this concert series, in turn, spread North German Musical ideas worldwide. Luther was especially convinced that music is a beautiful and exclusive offering of the divine.
