Cello, String Duet - Early Intermediate - Digital Download Composed by Georg Mertens, Anonymous, Jaques Offenbach, J.S. Bach, L. Boccherini, B. Fomin, P.I. Tchaikovsky, M. Carcassi, a. Kummer. Arranged by Georg Mertens. Method, Etudes and Exercises, Classroom, General Instructional, Technique Training. Set of Parts, Solo Part. 60 pages. Published by Georg Mertens
As a student 40 years ago I wrote a thesis about all existing cello methods. Then I started writing my own method by putting all positive aspects of all methods together.
The music selection is the best I could find for each level progressing in well prepared steps, enjoyable to play.
Exercises are compact and to the point, only used when needed.
Volume 3 contains No 64-100 on 60 pages - Learning to shift from Half position over first, second, third to 4th position. All pieces are written in form of a cello duo to be able to play with a friend or teacher together - includes traditional songs, fiddle tunes and compositions by Offenbach, Bach, Carcassi, Tchaikovsky, Moore, , Boccerini, Boris Fomin and Kummer.
To each number are video cello lessons published on Patreon. The links click through when viewed on phone, tablet or computer.
There are also Youtube recordings of all pieces as Cello Duos with fingerings and bowings as in the Cello Method, see https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLa4x_CVYDVRXAnJJ_6HeRujngwTZ8cMEd

As a student 40 years ago I wrote a thesis about all existing cello methods. Then I started writing my own method by putting all positive aspects of all methods together and revised the volume multiple times.
The music selection is the best I could find for each level progressing in tiny well prepared steps, enjoyable to play. Exercises compact and only when needed.
Volume 1 contains No 1-50 on 57 pages - first position, bow and reading skills, each piece in form of a cello duo to be able to play with a friend or teacher together - includes traditional songs, fiddle tunes and compositions by Beethoven, Bach, Purcell, Sor, Carcassi, Gretchaninov, Gruber and Neidhardt.
Probably the most researched and tested way to start learning the cello!

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.841364 Composed by Felix Bartholdy Mendelssohn, Samuel Arnold, and William H. Cummings. Arranged by Michele Galvagno. Christian,Christmas,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Octavo. 18 pages. Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele #6098157. Published by Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele (A0.841364). This year's Christmas publication choice fell on a song very dear to me: Hark! The herald angels sing. The text, inspired by Luke’s Gospel (2:14), appears for the first time in a collection of Christmas carols called Hymns and Sacred Poems in 1739, jointly written by Charles Wesley (1707-1788 ) and George Whitefield (1714-1770), two of the founding members of the Methodist movement. The version we know today is the one adapted by William H. Cummings (1831-1915) from the section Vaterland, in deinen Gauen of the Festgesang zum Gutenbergfest, WoO 9, by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy (1809-1847). The story, however, is more complex and articulated than that. The original version of the text, written by Wesley, bearing the title Hymn for Christmas-Day, had received only slow and solemn music for its verses, music now almost completely discarded. Also, his original opening lines were Hark! How all the welkin rings / Glory to the King of Kings .The version that has been passed to us is the result of alterations made by different hands, especially those of Whitefield, who changed the initial couplet into the one we know today. In 1840-one hundred years after the publication of Hymns and sacred Poems-Mendelssohn composed a cantata commemorating Johann Gutenberg’s invention of movable-type printing. The English musician William H. Cummings finally adapted Mendelssohn’s music around 1855 in order to fit the music to the verses and give it its present look.In this edition we propose the version that every listener expects to hear when reading the title on the programme and, immediately after, one of the few original versions that have reached us in their entirety, that is the one set to music by Samuel Arnold (1740-1802) and available today in The British Minstrel, and Musical and Literary Miscellany, vol. 3, published in 1843.The proposed instrumentations are those of the classical string quartet and the cello quartet. Both variants are very simple to perform and are certainly suitable for small string ensembles formed in musical schools. In the cello quartet version, the only relatively complex part is that of the first cello, which should be left to the teacher or to a student able to play up to the 7th position without excessive troubles.I hope this music can bring you the serenity that made me prepare it.

The accompaniments to all pieces are at the same level as the melodies, making it possible to play together from the very beginning.Combined with the online cello course it opens up creating an instant little orchestra, even where is no specialist cello teacher. There are 50 numbers, too long to fit - here are some of them:No. 5 & 6 Twinkle, twinkle little Star & AccompanimentNo. 7 French Folk SongNo. 10 Frere JacquesNo. 13 Ode to Joy (Beethoven)No. 19 Silent NightNo. 20 Happy BirthdayNo. 25 Rigadoon (H. Although I am today a cellist (and guitarist), my first instrument was violin, then recorder, and I started cello at the age of 9. I still play every now and then violin, in particular i find improvising on the violin easier then on any other instrument!

Surrender The Sword (score – violin and string orchestra) MO136AScore (parts available)Music by Mark O’Connor24 pages - 9:30 minutes in length Surrender The Sword for violin and string orchestra was composed and orchestrated by Mark O’Connor and used as one of the themes for the critically acclaimed PBS documentary, Liberty! The American Revolution. On the companion recording Liberty!, album notes author Thomas Fleming writes, ...something remarkable was taking shape in his imagination – sounds more extraordinary than he had ever experienced. On a trip to Key West, he visited Ernest Hemingway’s house. In the sundrenched garden, music leapt into O’Connor’s mind and in a breathtaking two hours, Surrender the Sword – and its orchestral outline – was on paper. It is unquestionably one of the most passionate orchestral pieces he has ever written. In the A part, the music is busy. You can imagine voices, perhaps in Congress, perhaps in a crowd in New York or Philadelphia, wondering what is going to happen next, as General George Washington is about to resign as commander-in-chief of the American army, O’Connor says. Then comes a long melodic arc, swelling with a triumphant confidence that depicts the great military leader extending his sword to surrender it forever. The music is suited for advanced and intermediate levels. Surrender The Sword (violin solo part – violin and string orchestra) MO136BViolin Solo Part (score and parts available)Music by Mark O’Connor7 pages - 9:30 minutes in length Surrender The Sword for violin and string orchestra was composed and orchestrated by Mark O’Connor and used as one of the themes for the critically acclaimed PBS documentary, Liberty! Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.841363 Composed by Felix Bartholdy Mendelssohn, Samuel Arnold, and William H. Cummings. Arranged by Michele Galvagno. Christian,Christmas,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Octavo. 18 pages. Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele #6098159. Published by Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele (A0.841363).
