Published by Fajora Music Orginal scores from the Rainer Fabich`s CD PIANO PUR played by Michaela Puehn.
Piano solo, 80 pages.
About the music:
In Piano Scenes musical associations are reflected, strung together in a loose sequence of imaginary pictures, such as Water Visions, Waves, Fallen Angel. Images of abstract, musical style (Gradus Ad Parnassum and Homage To Satie) refer in an idealistic way to musical precursors of piano literature.
In the very emotional Four Nocturnes there are both exuberant and flirtatious moments, such as the night walk of a lady (Promenade D `une Dame) and Valse Pour ... Thoughtful and sometimes brooding moods sound in Songes De La Nuit (Night Thoughts ) and Une Illusion.
The sonic world of Latin America appears in the Imprésiones Latinas. Short snapshots characterize the typical, playful pride and charm of female sex in Cuba (Habañera) or they evoke the untamed vitality of Brazil (Impresión Brasiliana).
In addition to the new compositions for piano, the music edition also includes a commissioned composition for Bavarian Television, Piano Reflections and excerpts from a film score for the short film Queen of the Night (directed by Hans Lang, HFF 1996, actors and others by Juliane Köhler). In the dance of puppets, Mozart's famous aria sounds like something from the distant world, slightly alienated.
All pieces of the CD Rainer Fabich - Piano Pur, were recorded on a Steinway grand piano (D) in 2005 by the Munich concert pianist Prof. Michaela Puehn in the Great Concert Hall of the Academy of Music and Theater, Munich. Recording, editing and mastering: Prof. Ulrich Kraus. The notes for the film music of the CD, Memoirs of a Frustrated Hedonist (ISBN: 9783737578295) have been published in an extra volume.
The first live premiere and American premiere of the two pieces Bulgarian Dance / Bulgarian Dance and Homage to Satie took place in 2018 (The National Opera Center, New York) by Tania Stavreva (piano).

Horsley Music The most popular Tango in Argentina Published and premiered in 1903, The Piano accompaniment mp3 is available separately. ITEM ID: S0.1000207
This famous Tango by Villoldo has had many variations, arrangements and recordings during its life, but here if is arranged for 2 flutes with piano accompaniment. There is nothing more complicated than sixteenth’s and eighth’s and the range is 2 octaves with the highest note being top E.
I have tried to keep the flute parts equal in terms of length and complexity so there is no no’1 and no’2.
It has been put at early intermediate level but the YouTube link has the whole score for you to assess suitability. Full score is 9 pages and it is around 3 mins in length.
It would work very well for concerts/recitals, show and productions, as well as being something a little different to play. Price is for score and parts. Lockdown Tango (for solo piano)

Geoffrey Cottrell This solo piano piece was written in the spring of 2020 in Oxford UK, during the "lockdown" period (i.e. confinement to home) associated with the the coronavirus pandemic. It is based on an earlier piece of mine (October Tango) which I wrote for string quartet, but is rendered here more pianistic, and includes new material. The pianistic standard is intermediate, and the duration is about 4 minutes. The soulful music is catchy, romantic and passionate, and can either simply be played for fun, or be used in a variety of events, such as Weddings, Parties, Tango Dances, Encores etc. Astrophel - for Solo Piano

Music A modern, melodic original composition, suitable for students and advanced musicians alike.
Composer’s Note:
The title of this piece is taken from Sir Philip Sidney’s c.1590 sonnet sequence, known as Astrophel and Stella. The sonnets are meditations on romantic love, with the titular names derived from the Greek roots aster (star) and phil (love), and the Latin stella (also star). Hence, Stella is the object of Astrophel’s affection.
For interested students or teachers, here are a few pedagogical notes:
This piece is suitable for an intermediate-level student. It is playable as a simple waltz as-written, or as a jazz ballad with straight eighth notes. There are some left hand oom-pah shapes, as well as a couple of large arpeggiated shapes where the right hand might want to catch the top note of bass clef, primarily if a student’s hands are small (like the composer’s).
About the Composer:

As a soloist or sideman, she has performed at numerous music venues around California in an eclectic mix of styles, and recorded with a variety of jazz musicians, singer-songwriters, and rock bands. Flavio Regis Cunha Les Boréades is a tragédie lyrique mise en musique, or a lyric tragedy put into music, a type of opera, in five acts by Jean-Philippe Rameau (1683-1764). It is the last of his five such works. The libretto, attributed to Louis de Cahusac (1706?1759), is loosely based on the Greek legend of Abaris the Hyperborean and includes Masonic elements; the Boréades are the descendants of Boréas.
'The Arts and The Hours' interlude from Rameau?s final opera, ?Les Boréades?, written in 1763 when Rameau was 80. Ólafsson transcribed it for the modern piano because its colourful resonance allows for new and interesting textural possibilities in a piece that seems so ahead of its time: its rich harmonies of suspended 9ths and 11ths one could almost imagine Mahler writing in the late 19th century. In the original opera, based on a Greek legend, the interlude bears a somewhat lengthy title: ?The Arrival of the Muses, Zephyrs, Seasons, Hours and the Arts.? As all these mythical beings summoned to the stage have something to do with the arts and with time?s passing, Ólafsson allowed himself to call my transcription simply ?The Arts and the Hours?, with a nod to the Greek aphorism best known in its Latin version as ?Ars longa, vita brevis?. Almost three centuries after his death, the legacy of his art is still growing, with works still being discovered, premiered and brought back from obscurity. Numbered Places * piano * music by Juan María Solare
The cycle Numbered Places startsfrom a simple idea: the piece nr. 1 would have a title that begins with theword One, the piece nr. 2 a titlethat begins with the word Two and soon up to an arbitrary number (in this case, eleven).
For everything to have more cohesion, English names of different places orregions in either USA or (mainly) UK were used.
In its own way, Numbered Placesis therefore a conceptual album - alreadyfrom the point of view of titles.
Also musically, this world of sound has cohesion: instrumental piano music, neoclassical aesthetics (a somewhat broad concept that encompasses composerssuch as Erik Satie or Ludovico Einaudi), a certain simplicity in its surface.
Let us briefly comment each of the titles:
- One WayFlight to ...: The imaginary journey starts here. Each person will completethe sentence with the destiny of their choice.
- TwopennyLoaf: This is a neighborhood (and geographically a cape) in the city ofGloucester, Essex County, Massachusetts, USA. It is believed to have gotten itsname because it is shaped like a (bread) loaf that at the time cost twopennies.
- ThreeBridges: It is a city somewhere between London and Brighton, and a nodalpoint where trains typically split. Musically, the most minimalistic of all thecycle.
- Four Oaks:There are numerous places so named, both in England and the US, and possibly inother countries. I can imagine that there were actually four oak trees planted near.
- FivePointz: Neighborhood in Queens, New York. A graffiti mecca that wasdemolished in 2014 to build expensive buildings. And yes, it is spelled with zin this case.
- Six MileBottom: Is a hamlet near Cambridge in England. The hamlet derives its namefrom its distance from the start of Newmarket Racecourse and because it lies ina valley bottom. There is no public transport. The old train station, closed in1967 for lack of use, is now a private residence.
- SevenKings: It is a neighborhood in Ilford, East London. The earliest recordeduse of the name is as Sevekyngg or Sevekyngges in 1285, possibly meaning'settlement of the family or followers of a man called Seofoca'
- EightStreets: it is a (very sought-after) neighborhood located in the heart ofthe historic South End of the city of Boston, Massachusetts, USA.
- Nine Elms:a district of South West London. Nine Elms Lane was named around the year 1645,from a row of elm trees bordering the road.
- Ten TenRoad: it is a place -actually the main road- in the town of Apex, NorthCarolina, USA.
- ElevenLands: this place is mentioned in an old legal report from around 1782 asexisting in North London ("a place called Eleven Lands, containing fiveacres of arable, formerly Cosby's, beonging to a farm in the said parish ofBletcheley...", in " Acollection of the Reports of Cases, the Statutes, and Ecclesiastical Laws, relating to Tithes", volume 3). It has certainly changed its name.Musically, this last piece has a certain tango aura.
Why eleven pieces and not more? The truth is that - incredibly as it mayseem - I didn't find any place called "Twelve" something. Yes thereare such names in other languages, but I wanted to keep some consistency. Thereare also pubs or bars called Twelvewhatever, but since they are not sponsoring my music, I had no motivation togive them free advertising at the moment.

A New Look at Three Favorite Carols
Arranged by Colin Kirkpatrick
Here are three refreshing new modernarrangements of three popular traditional carols “like you ain’t never heardthem before”. Intended for the intermediate cello player and a reasonably competentpianist, they are sure to brighten up your Christmas events whether at home, school, church or recital hall. They could be used during a Christmas service or asstand-alone pieces at an end-of-term presentation. The audio sample includes recordingsof all three pieces.
The King Rides Out(based on “Good King Wenceslas”) starts conventionally enough but turns into acountry-style song and then there’s a three-part Bach-like contrapuntal section, concluding with a wistful coda before the music returns to the joyful countrystyle. Waltz with Holly – or Possibly Ivy (based of course on “The Hollyand the Ivy”) turns into a dreamy waltz with long extended phrases and a goodvehicle to show the cellists tone quality. The Merry Gentleman go Latinis a lively rumba version of “God Rest You Merry, Gentlemen”.
ColinKirkpatrick studied composition, cello and piano at London’s prestigious RoyalCollege of Music and after graduation followed a career in music education. Hewas a High School Music Director in London for about fifteen years and laterbecame a Music Education Adviser for local government, with the addedresponsibility for training teachers and directing the instrumental teachingservice.
Hehas been published by Boosey & Hawkes, Novello, Paxton, Schott, OxfordUniversity Press, Chester, Belwin Mills and Intrada (Netherlands). He holds MAand PhD degrees in education and his other interests include reading, photography, travel, cooking and wine tasting - though not necessarily all atthe same time. SAMRO, CAPASSO.
Tango, is a passionate union between two dancers. The musical effect that I worked on was exactly that, the passionate union between two musical instruments. Throughout the piece, I endeavored to keep the central theme of the Tango rhythm playing out between the two instruments. I know that at some points I have moved away from the Tango idea, which is why I included the word fantasy in the title. So’ for most of the piece, the Tango theme is foremost, and whatever may or may not be Tango material is indeed a fantasy, an idea, a leaning toward the real thing, that is the Tango in Latin Style.
