Studies for Beginning Cello Students Studies that build one’s skills from open strings to using all four fingers. This volume is a collection of studies from various cellists. Those names being: Hugo Schlemueller, Carl Schroeder, Sebastian Lee, Anton Hegner, and Hermann Heberlein. Also included are several Folk songs as well as the famous Ode To Joy by the great Beethoven.Sometimes a collection such as this are useful in that they focus the students attention on a particular set of skills. In this case, I have carefully chosen and arranged each study so as to build the skills from the open strings up to using all four fingers of the left hand. Students normally find mastering one or two fundamental skills at a time much more doable and more motivating. There are many methods available but few collections that are short, remain in the level of ability for beginners, and proceed in achievable steps. This volume was created after years of teaching and seeing how useful such an incrementally arranged set of studies can be for the student. Whether a student achieves the skill in question for a certain study in a day or a week, the usefulness of the exercise remains the same. The little black dots sitting in the midst of 5 horizontal lines can blur together after a time. This method uses colors to help one quickly identify which string you should be playing on. Even if you are still not very quick to name the notes, learning to group the notes according to string can make that naming game a little simpler. In use are four colors. They represent the four strings on the cello: A, D, G, C. This method can be very informative. Rather than struggle week after week with the same slow results, try this color-coded strategy. There are three familiar tunes in this download. Mary Had a Little Lamb (this one tends to be straight forward enough that every student can play it in a matter of half a lesson), Ode to Joy (by: Beethoven), and Are You Sleeping?. They are organized with increasing amounts of string crossings. This creates the need to remember, more fluidly, which string any given note should be played on. The price is low to encourage you to give it a try. Think of it this way, if you were to get private lessons, it would likely take several lessons to get this information and you only have your memory. Now, you are only a click or so away to having the same information in a PDF that you can refer to again and again. Two-Strings Melodies for the beginner cellist.

Published by Laura Quijada (A0.805516). 20 Melodies on two strings at a time, a good complement to beginner cello methods. The finger pattern is kept on the three pair of strings, and the melodies can be started randomly (not necessarily in the order they appear). With the exception of the last one, all the melodies are in 2/4 to facilitate the staff reading at this level. Scales and arpeggios are included to keep up with the instrument's technique. No technique marks (arco, pizzicato), bowings, dynamics or tempi are indicated, leaving this to the teacher's discretion to assign them, as the goal is to have the cellist play the tunes perfectly at his/her own pace and abilities. This music can also be used for solo recitals. Keys: D Major, A Major, C Major Concertino G major

Cello - very easy - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q45316 Composed by Ferdinand Kuechler. This edition: separate part. Schott Student Edition - Repertoire. Downloadable, Individual part. Op. 11. Schott Music - Digital #Q45316. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q45316). Key: G major. German • English • French.Ferdinand Küchler is regarded as one of the great violin teachers of the 20th century, not least because of his violin method. His Concertino in G major Op. 11 still is a popular entry-level piece of concert literature even in today's violin lessons. Apart from the edition in the original instrumentation for violin and piano (SE 1001), this arrangement follows the title 'Concertino' and allows for early playing with string accompaniment – with string quartet and double-bass ad libitum or scored for multiple parts with string orchestra. Further individual orchestral parts are available for download at www.notafina.de. As an alternative to the viola part, a part for a third violin is notated as well. This edition is part of the new Schott Student Edition series which offers varied literature at five different levels of difficulty, from 1 (easy) to 5 (difficult), for instrumental lessons. About Schott Student EditionThe Schott Student Edition gathers instrumental works for music lessons providing a unique and varied repertoire resource including standard teaching works, lesser known pieces which are perfectly suited to lessons as well as to student concerts and competitions. The repertoire is divided into levels 1-5, from very easy to difficult, and includes works from the Renaissance up to modern performance pieces. Each title is graded, from very easy works for beginners up to demanding pieces for more advanced students who are preparing for further study or examinations.Every work in the series has been carefully selected and edited by experienced music teachers. The editions also contain a wealth of information on the pieces as well as useful advice on studying, rehearsing and interpreting the works.
