In order to increase sales Quantz described them as for flutes or violins and in his introduction (in fluent French) also indicated their suitability for bassoons - who in that period would be accustomed to transposing at sight.The three movements, Grave - Allabreve, ma presto, Cantabile & Più tosto Vivace are suitable for advanced intermediate players of equal ability.
