Lisa L Ochoco #766187. Published by Lisa L Ochoco (A0.1165816). Avatar: The Way of Water, is the long-awaited sequel to the award-winning film from 2009.  The soundtrack for the new film was written by Simon Franglen, who originally wrote 5 hours of music to cover any and all situations in the almost 3-hour movie.  From Darkness to Light is a beautiful instrumental piece in the movie that shows off the beauty of the water.  On paper, the music seems a little too simple, but the chord progressions together with the moving parts make for quite a beautiful and memorable piece.  This arrangement is scored for flute choir – piccolo with 4 C, alto, bass, and contrabass flutes.  There is an optional cello part that doubles the contrabass that can be played by any bass clef C instrument in a similar range.  One of the most important parts of this piece is what helps create the mood, which is where the part called “Shimmer†comes in.  In an interview, Simon Franglen said that an important part of the music is the feeling of light, and he achieved that by including shimmering sounds into his tunes.  With that in mind, this is how the “Shimmer†part can be played:  Hang a few keys (house keys, car keys, etc.) that have different pitches on short lengths of string.  Use a small metal or wooden object to lightly hit the keys to create little “dingsâ€.  Be creative with this percussive part!  You can use whistle tones, a little xylophone, wind chimes, etc.  The idea is to create a magical mood without overpowering the music.  Play this part wherever there is a note in the measure.  Duration: 3.75 minutes. Ochoco Of all fun songs, this one is at the top of the list! Walt Disney's 1950 animated movie, Cinderella is a classic movie with classic songs. This song was also used in the remake movie in 2015.
Play this piece light and bouncy, and not too fast. It is set at the typical "march" tempo.
This arrangement is simple enough for musicians with intermediate skill. The upright bass part is optional, and can be substituted by any C instrument in a similar range, like a cello or bassoon.
This is a great closer for your recitals, and will have your audience going home happy.
Scored for 4 C flutes, alto, bass, contrabass, and optional upright string bass.

Ochoco For those Bridgerton fans out there, Lady Whistledown's Society Paper is how her dearest readers discovered the juiciest news about everyone who was someone in London. "If there's a scandal, she shall uncover it, and share every last detail." Even the queen read it!
The Netflix series burst onto the screen in December 2020, amid a pandemic, and became one of the most popular shows around the world.
Kris Bowers wrote the soundtrack for Bridgerton. The recording was done remotely by just 8 orchestra musicians. It proves, as many musicians have during the pandemic, that you don't have to be in the same room to make great music with others - the process is just a little weird.
The Latest Whistledown is a lively piece that is quite a delight. This arrangement is a bit beefier than the original recording, as it makes no sense to me to have members of the choir just sitting there with nothing to play while the others may think they have too many notes. This piece also includes a key change that the original does not have, because it helps lengthen the delight a little more.
Scored for piccolo, 3 C flutes, alto, bass, and contrabass flutes. There is an optional upright string bass part that doubles the contrabass part. It can be played by any bass clef C instrument in a similar range.

Length: 6:45
Difficulty: 3 to 3+
Evocative of a cold and windy dayin winter, A Song of Winter explores the contrasts between thesmoothness and roundness of a snowman and the hardness and jaggedness oficicles.
Beginning with a winter stormwith wind and swirling snow, the wind calms, and the building of a snowmanbegins with the rolling of a snowball. The rolling forms the biggest ball of the snowman (represented by thebass and alto flutes), which is briefly interrupted by a playful snowballfight. The flutes continue the melodyfor the rolling of the second ball of the snowman, followed by the piccolorepresenting the rolling of the smallest ball (the head of the snowman). The melody is smooth and round in a lilting I time.
With the snowman complete, thewind and swirling snow return to lead into the Icicles section. The jaggedness of the icicles is representedby the jaggedness of syncopation in a marcato style with the melody skippinglarger intervals than the Snowmen melody. Visually, the score shows the jagged shape ofthe icicles. Double-tongued ascendingand descending lines, add to hard and brittle feeling of the icicles, as wellas to the shape of the melody. Thepiccolo adds the glistening, shimmering effect of sunlight reflecting off the icicles. Eventually, fragments of the Snowmenmelody are interspersed with the Icicles, followed by a final windstorm, which calms at the end of the piece.

Ralph Raymond Hays This arrangement of one of J.S. Bach's most familiar and endearing melodies is idiomatic to the ensemble and takes full advantage of its strengths of tone and instrumental color. The original vocal melody, viola section melody, and bass line are enriched in an ever evolving texture by fresh counterpoint composed by the arranger through realization of Bach's notated figured bass. Optionally, the ensemble can be accompanied by a fully rendered continuo part and will provide a highlight to any of myriad occasions. The Songcord
