Following in the tradition of Bach, Chopin, and other composers, Melody Bober has written the In All Keys series, which includes original piano solos in all major and minor keys. Each book in the series contains 16 pieces and follows the circle of fifths, with pieces in major keys followed by pieces in relative minor keys. Book 1 features one piece in C major, one piece in A minor, and the seven major 'sharp' keys (G, D, A, E, B, F-sharp, and C-sharp major) and their relative minors (E, B, F-sharp, C-sharp, G-sharp, D-sharp, and A-sharp minor). Book 2 includes one piece in C major, one piece in A minor, and the seven major 'flat' keys (F, B-flat, E-flat, A-flat, D-flat, G-flat, and C-flat major) and their relative minors (D, G, C, F, B-flat, E-flat, and A-flat minor). The C major and A minor pieces of Book 1 are different than the C major and A minor pieces of Book 2. The pieces with five, six, and seven sharps in Book 1 have been transposed to their enharmonic flat keys for Book 2. Although presented in the traditional order of the circle of fifths, this is where similarities to other violin scale-oriented books end.Of course, the etudes can be played using a mixture of positions by more advanced students. Pr?lude in c sharp minor op. 3 no. 2-Pr?lude C Sharp Minor Op.3 No.2 is possibly Sergei Rachmaninow's most famous late romantic Piano work and is now finally available as a Henle Urtext edition.First published in 1892 as part ofthe Piano cycle 'Morceaux de Fantaisie' Op. 3 the work soon became well known abroad in particular due to the concert tours given by the pianist Alexander Siloti Rachmaninow???s cousin. Even Rachmaninow himselfwas soon no longer able to perform any concerts in America without someone in the audience crying out 'C sharp minor!' at the end. The thundering chords of the final part of this work are legendary and at the same time not asunplayable as one might have been led to believe.

Rhapsody in F Sharp for Piano and Orchestra was commissioned by the BBC Proms and first performed in the Royal Albert Hall on August 19th 1943. Written with the wartime audience in mind it is unashamedlypopular in style with its flashy virtuosity making it immediately accessible and entertaining. There is argument among scholars as to whether it should be referred to in the Major or Minor key as it makes almost equal use ofboth starting in one and finishing in the other. Ernest J Moeran (1894-1950) was an English composer who followed the tradition of R. Vaughan Williams and John Ireland by collecting preserving and using manyfolk songs mainly from Norfolk Suffolk and Ireland.

String Quartet in C-sharp minor op. 131. Many anecdotes surround String Quartet op. 131: Beethoven is said to have considered it to be his finest quartet and of his late period works, the one dearest to his heart. It is also believed that the composer invested so much of himself in it: his ailing health, the social isolation brought about by his deafness and the suicide attempt of his nephew Karl. In addition it was reported that Franz Schubert asked to hear this piece once more on his deathbed. Even if these anecdotes are not all true, they reveal what generations of musicians felt they heard in this quartet: Beethoven?s most personal musical idiom and a vulnerable message from the final period of his life. This new edition by Jonathan Del Mar represents a thorough revision of this highly complex work.
