Dániel Csengery (b. 1974) wrote his three-movement Concertino in 2006. It is a colourful, carefree-sounding composition with lively rhythms, suitable for intermediate-level pianists and youth orchestras. The viola part may also be played by a third violin section. The music is available in two versions: 14606A - score and parts, 14606B reduction for two pianos.

Ferran Cruixent's “Binary” was commissioned by the ARD International Music Competition. The work is dedicated to a 56k Modem device. The world premiere was given during the course of the competition on 8 September 2015 at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater (University of Music and Performing Arts) in Munich. “Binary” for two pianos is a one-movement work, inspired by the composer's fascination about the dangers in human dependence in technological business, such as the obsession about media in today's mechanized and computerized society. The name Binary refers to a digital representation of text and data, whose unit can take only two possible states. Binary code is a mathematical, technological language, developed by ourselves: an organic language that creates another to be described and discovered for itself. In this piece the players are asked to play in special techniques, such as “Cyber Singing” (introduced 2010 in composer's symphonic work “Cyborg”). “Cyber Singing” introduces a new musical technique: the audio file prepared by the composer himself is played by themusician from his mobile phone, a device commonly used for other purposes. So, it defines a new possibility of interaction between the composer and the musician, attaining genuine communication itself.

Max Regers Auseinandersetzung mit der Musik Richard Wagners geht bis in seine frühe Jugend zurück. 1888 erlebte er in Bayreuth Aufführungen von Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg unter Hans Richter und Parsifal unter Felix Mottl. Bis an sein Lebensende blieb Wagner für Reger einer der größten Komponisten, häufig dirigierte er dessen Vorspiele in Konzerten. 1909 trat Regers Verleger mit Blick auf das kommende Wagnerjahr 1913 erstmals an den Komponisten heran und bat ihn, Orchesterstücke Wagners für Klavier einzurichten. Wegen verschiedener Verpflichtungen und gesundheitlicher Probleme konnte Reger die Bearbeitungen erst 1913 bzw. 1914 fertigstellen. Die Bearbeitungen wurden, bedingt durch die Besetzung mit zwei Klavieren, eher für den Konzertgebrauch konzipiert.

Lauri Kilpiö's (b. 1974) Six Winter Scenes for two pianos (2022) was commissioned by Joensuu Conservatory. The nostalgic memories and different impressions of winter take the technical abilities of the performers into consideration. The short, hazy movement I Blue Dusk Descends brings the winter. The other move-ments include the bright movement II Echoes in a Snowy Forest, the toccata-style movement III Ride through a Blizzard, the glitteringly impressionistic movement IV Ice Skating on the River, the enigmatic movement V Birds on the Snowdrift, and the energetic movement VI Woken Bear Rock, which brings the spring.

The suite can be performed in its entirety at a time, or it is also possible to perform only individual movements of it. The same piano duo may perform the whole work, or the performers may also change between the movements.
