The Collaborative Artist Flute Cello Piano-Faber Piano Adventures is proud to present a new chamber music composition Curiouser and Curiouser. Composed by Nancy Faber this unique piece was commissioned by the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) to celebratethe organization's Year of Collaborative Music and was debuted at the 2011 MTNA National Convention.Written for late intermediate to early advanced students this chamber trio features a ?curious? one-noteopening followed by a quirky merry melody that leads the performers to unexpected musical places. The piece ends as mysteriously as it begins ? with a final flourish.This piece is suitable for piano students whohave completed Piano Adventures® Level 5.

Par MOZART WOLFGANG AMADEUS. Since their publication in the New Mozart Edition, Mozart's sonatas K. 10–15 count as piano trios. Furthermore, the title of the first edition, published by father and son Mozart in 1765 reads 'Six Sonates pour le Clavecin qui puevent se jouer avec l'accompagnement de Violon ou Flaute Traversiere”. In other words, these pieces are harpsichord sonatas that may be accompanied at will by a violin or a transverse flute. In a partial press run of the first edition a cello part was included. Our new edition is the first to take these conflicting formats into account by presenting two separate versions, one being the unaltered harpsichord part, the other a full score with separateinstrumental parts for violin/flute and cello. The harpsichord part [CV 51. 010/10] is indeed capable of standing by itself and requires no instrumental expansion. The melody instrument, in contrast, merely function as an accompaniment or contribute brief interjections, or, in the case of the cello, reinforce the left hand of the keyboard. In other words, K. 10–15 are not only Mozart's earliest piano trios, they are also his earliest keyboard sonatas to survive intact./ Répertoire / Violon, Violoncelle et Piano

After an early work and a discontinued attempt in 1831/32 Mendelssohn made his breakthrough in this important chamber music genre in the summer of 1839 with the Piano Trio in d minor op. 49 which was to be followedsix years later by the Trio in c minor op. 66. On publication of the first trio Schumann took the opportunity to describe the composer as the ?Mozart of the 19th century? whereby he was obviously alluding to the mixtureof Classical and Romantic stylistic elements. The musical text of these two famous Trios has been thoroughly revised to reflect the latest scholarly findings. In addition HN 1297 also includes a Flute part for thealternative version of op. 49 (Flute instead of Violin) that Mendelssohn himself made.

Score and parts for Saariaho's Cendres arranged for Alto Flute Cello and Piano.Quoting Saariaho: While writing Cendres I was mainly concentrating on the interpretation of particular musical ideas by the threedifferent instruments of the trio each of which has its unique character and palette of colours. Musical tension is created and regulated by sometimes bringing the instruments as close together as possible in all ways (pitch rhythm dynamics articulation colour etc.) or at the other extreme letting each of them express the music in their most idiomatic fashion. Between these two extremes there is an unlimited number of possible ways to createmore or less homogenous musical situations. The consciousness of this variety was the rope on which I was balancing whilst working on the piece.Cendres was commissioned by the Gesellschaft fur Neue Musik Ruhr andKulturbüro der Stadt Essen for the Wolpe Trio. Quatre Mouvements is a piece written by Marc Berthomieu for a Flute or a Cello with Piano accompaniment. Written for intermediate players this piece is divided into four distinct parts: 1. Larghetto – romantic 2. Scherzo – cheerful 3. Andante 4. Presto Quite romantic to start with the piece becomes cheerful in the second part and ends up on a fast section. It includes a coda some trills and will require some basics of breathing technique. Marc Berthomieu (1906-1991) was a French composer. He created one of the Conservatoire inParis'' “15th arrondissement” and has composed many small operas.

Nikolai Kapustin is considered a pioneer of the Soviet jazz scene. His music combines typical idioms of jazz with classical forms. The Trio op. 86 for flute, violoncello and piano from 1998 is one of the most popular chamber music works by Kapustin. He recorded it himself together with Alexander Zagorinsky and Alexander Korneev.

Thusits authenticity has been called into question time and again. According to the latest research however this tone sensitive sonata is presumed to be an original work by Bach. Editor PeterWollny a declared expert outlines the reasons for this in detail. The violin part is to be played in scordatura according to the source so this version has provided a part in original notation as well as in standardnotation for regularly tuned violins.
