Robert Saxton's Passacaglia On The Name John McCabe for Organ.Commissioned by George Vass for a concert in celebration of the life and work of John McCabe CBE.First performed in Faversham Church Kent on 28th June 2015 by Edward Kemp-Luck.Duration: 6 mins ca.A review in the June 2016 edition of Organist's Review calls this piece a 'beautifully produced work' that features 'the pleasing disorientation of false relations' and is 'as inventive as it is impressive.'A similarly glowing review in the August-October edtion of The Organ magazine calls thispiece 'a very impressive short work indeed; brilliantly imagines and written for the instrument...one can only urge this music on all recital organists - it is a splendid piece and would surely make a counterpart to an original McCabe organ work in the same programme - the Johannes-Partita especially.'

More organ music from this period is ascribed to Blow than to all his English contemporaries put together including Henry Purcell. In compiling this anthology the editor has incorporated both the best examples from the corpus and those that were most popular in the composer's lifetime while illustrating the variety of styles he used. Most of the pieces may be played ona single manual but there are also 'double voluntaries' (for two manuals) and 'cornet voluntaries' (for two or three manuals). Ireland's organ music belongs largely to the early years of his composing career (1902-1911). The 'Meditation' on John Keble's Rogationtide Hymn however was written in 1958 and was his very last composition. Edited by Robert Gower.

Five Hymn Tune Preludes (Op. 44) was composed in 1959. It is a collection of short works for solo Organ based on five of the most popular Anglican Hymn Tunes: Old Hundredth - Dundee - Darwall's 148th - Down Ampney - Veni Creator Spiritus. Each Prelude would be suitable for performance before or after a church service or the entire set could be used as a recital item. John Gardner (1917-2011) was a British composer and pedagogue. Best known for his setting of the Christmas Carol Tomorrow Shall Be My Dancing Day he wrote a total of nearly 250 published works. He was Professor of Harmony and Composition at the Royal Academyof Music for over three decades and also taught at Morley College and St Paul’s Girls’ School.

John Ireland's Cavatina was originally written for Violin and Piano however was later transcribed by the composer for his favourite instrument - the Organ.

John Rutter's Prelude - Te Lucis Ante Terminum for Organ. Duration: 1 1/2 minutes. This short (44 bars) contemplation is dedicated to the memory of Hilary Cornall and takes the form of a gently­ flowing Andante tranquillo with freq­uently-changing time-signatures but with a constant quaver pulse = 126. This gives the work a haunting quality as if ­in visual terms - quietly observing the passage of cloud across a balmy sum­mer sky. Tonally the music gradually descends from an implied A minor to G - the mode subtly indeterminate but undoubtedly final as the approach of evening. As with so much music by this composer the effect is simple but very touching the constantly flowing open fifths in the right hand adding the principal expression of movement.
