Jacques Douai est un chanteur français. De son vrai nom Gaston Tanchon, il est né le 20 décembre 1920 à Douai (d?où il tirera son nom de scène). Il est mort le 7 août 2004 à Paris. Il était surnommé « le troubadour des temps modernes ».
Il a chanté Prévert, Aragon, Ferré, Trenet, Max Jacob, Georges Brassens, Jacques Brel... mais aussi des poètes du Moyen Âge comme Chrétien de Troyes, Rutebeuf ou François Villon. Il a été le premier interprète masculin de la chanson Les Feuilles mortes de Prévert et Kosma en 1947. Il a reçu le grand prix de l?Académie Charles-Cros à plusieurs reprises : 1955, 1962, 1968.

James Gibbon Huneker (1857-1921) was a distinguished American newspaper critic, an essayist, and a prolific author. His writing style is remarkable ? unrestrained, informal, full of brilliant insight ? and this style plus Huneker's wide knowledge of art and literature as well as music has kept his literacy work alive.
