The style is a laid-back Latin groove and Michael incorporates a wealth of creative harmonic andtextural devices in this distinctive arrangement. Michael has reworked his popular big band version of this Latin classic to work in this format for little big band. Great groove and tight ensemble writing.

With flowing melodies and a light bossa feel Mark's arrangement of this standard is a wonderful feature for flugelhorn. The solo section includes a written sample and the ensemble voicings and harmonies are superb. Listen forthe flugel playing lead with the sax section.

Stan Kenton's signature version is probably the best-known treatment of this Spanish classic. Mike's easy arrangement draws upon this version while keeping the ranges and rhythms well within the reach of beginning groups. A real powerhouse!
