It takes its bearings from the liturgical calendar and the pieces can be easily played in church services evening recitals or small concerts. Included are pieces which are freely-composed or based on chorales either original works or arrangements by the editor. In this volume the works relate to hymns of the Reformation including some composed by Martin Luther. Enclosed in each edition are solo parts for C B-flat E-flat and Fwhich can be played by violin flute oboe clarinet trumpet and horn in F. For use in church services the chorale preludes are provided with accompaniments in the keys of the Lutheran hymnal. The present volume brings this successful series to its conclusion. Elève de Louis Vierne, Alexandre Guilmant et Charles-Marie Widor, ami de Marcel Dupré, Emile Bourdon fut un musicien complet, dès son plus jeune âge. Composées entre 1926 et 1971 alors qu'il était organiste de la cathédrale de Monaco, ces Six Pièces proviennent de sources différentes et ont été réunies ici après un long travail collectif effectué par l'Association Emile Bourdon. Peu connues du public et des organistes, ces oeuvres sont pourtant remarquables par leur qualité, leur langage très personnel et leur sens aigu de la registration et de la façon de bien faire ' sonner ' l'instrument.
