Igjen viser Trygve Madsen seg som en kreativ og fantasifull komponist nar han velger a benytte motiver og temaer som allerede har funnet sin plass i norsk musikkliv. Denne gangen bruker han deler av temaer fra Griegs lyriske stykker. Han setter disse temaene sammen pa en ny og spennende mate og benytter fargerike, frodige akkorder som aldri kommer i konflikt med temaenes egenart. Man kjenner igjen brokker fra Griegs Gangar op.54, Hun danser op.58, Hjemve op.58, Halling op.71 m.fl. og blir imponert over hvordan disse melodibrokkene blir behandlet pa en sa tiltalende og smidig mate. Dette er ypperlig undervisningsmusikk, godt tilrettelagt pa piano, som passer best for elever pa litt viderekomment niva.

Many pianists would love to play the greatest works of Grieg but find that their ambition surpasses their technical ability. Even so, there are still plenty of pieces and even extracts from longer works that are well within the abilities of a novice pianist. These accessible pieces are the focus of this collection. Each book in series presents a composer trough a selection of brief pieces. The first volumes help the young pianist to become acquainted with the music of Händel, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, J. S. Bach and Weber. Most of the works are dance movements, although some sonatinas or sonatas have also been included. All the books contain a variety of compositions easy to play but of undoubted musical value. The selection is the work of four well-known music pedagogues, Magda Csurka, Gábor Kováts, András Héra and József Sármai.
