Lux Futura. Lux Futura (Light of the Future) was commissioned by the Royal Wind Orchestra Delft and is inspired by the letters ?D-E-L-F-T? using the letter notation system by Béla Bartók. In this ?Delft? cell, there is referral to the ?Trinitas?, the bourdon bell of the Old Church in Delft, that only tolls during a funeral of a member of the Dutch Royal Family. The Delft melody switches to the ?Agneta March?, which is a reference to the history of the Royal Wind Orchestra Delft. Further on the love theme, played by the bass instruments represents the love of the inhabitants for their city throughout space and time. In the middle movement, the beauty of the city is depicted by the cor anglais (English horn) solo, as an ode to the lovely city of Delft. When performed, one can choose to use sound city samples recorded in Delft to create a truly magnificent spectacle.

The term Beatlemania was coined as the extreme enthusiasm exhibited by fans of the English rock band The Beatles in the 1960s. Timothy Graves compiled three of their 60s hits in an arrangement for four-part flexible band: Love Me Do, Penny Lane and Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da.

Early in 1989 Jean Baily director of the Royal Conservatoire in Bruxelles asked his very close friend André Waignein to compose a piece which could be performed by the conservatoire's saxophone class. André Waignein was readily agreeable. Not only was his father a saxophone player but himself felt strongly attracted to the instrument and he was further encouraged into accepting the commission by his friend Alain Crepin saxophone teacher at the Bruxelles Conservatoire.The piece he composed consists of two movements hence the title. An elergy is expressed by means of a melody which is full with pronounced magnanimity full of spectacular musical freedom enabling thesoloist to express himself to the full. In this movement the melodic element is of the utmost importance.The capriccio the second movement is musically disconcerting. The band's accompaniment is particulary important. Due to the high notes the soloist brings this capriccio to a close with enthusiastic virtuosity.
