Gaspar Sanz, né à Calanda (Aragon) en 1640 et mort à Madrid en 1710, fut un prêtre, compositeur et guitariste espagnol.
Études à l'Université de Salamanque (philosophie et théologie). Voyage en Italie, où il suit l'enseignement de Cristofor Caresana, Orazio Benevoli, de Pietro Antonio Ziani et de Lelio Colista. De retour en Espagne, il est le professeur de guitare de Don Juan d'Autriche pour lequel il compose entre 1674 et 1675 son Instruccion de Musica sobre la guitarra Espanola y Metodo de sus primeros rudientos hasta tanerla cons destreza (Saragosse 1697, 8e éd.)
