On the night of oct 8 2017, a wall of fire several
miles pushed by fifty mile hour winds burned over the
entire valley where I grew up and into several towns
cities on flatland below.
This piece is in remembrance of those who had to flee
their homes, barely ahead of the fire in some case, as
well as those who spread the evacuation warnings and
manned the fire lines and emergency shelters over the
next three weeks until the fire was completely
extinguished.
