"The Lord's Prayer" is a musical setting of the Lord's
Prayer written by Albert Hay Malotte in 1935 and
recorded by numerous singers and groups including John
Charles Thomas, Perry Como, Doris Day, Gracie Fields,
Andrea Bocelli, Mahalia Jackson, Mario Lanza, Elvis
Presley, Ronnie Milsap, The Staple Singers, Jackie
Evancho, Il Divo and Susan Boyle. The song's melody is
very similar to that of Schubert's "Ave Maria" (a
recording of which was issued as the B-side of Como's
version).
