Sleigh Ride-Troika is a Russian word that means a group of three but it also means a light Russian sleigh pulled by three horses. Christmas Troika portrays the joy of Christmas via a musical sleigh-ride. Listen as the glistening snow crinkles beneath the weight of the sleigh and the hooves of the prancing horses as it travels through the countryside. One can almost see the frost on the trees and hear the wind blow and the sleigh-bells ring as the tune O Come All Ye Faithful winds its way through the music.

Written by Marcel Tournier  Féerie – Prelude Et Dance is a piece for Harp dedicated to Alphonse Hasselmans and to be played on the Pedal Harps. This piece would fit the skills and abilities of advanced Harp players and the technical difficulties encountered are numerous: hand-crossings numerous arpeggios natural harmonies many accidental alterations as well as some pedal changes. Marcel Tournier (1879-1951) was a French harpist and teacher. He studied with Alphonse Hasselmans at the Paris Conservatoire and composed numerous pieces for Solo Harp: ' Russian Lullabies' 'Six Christmas' 'FourPreludes' and 'Three images suite 1 Op. 29' among many others.

Par TOURNIER MARCEL. Thème Et Variations by Marcel Tournier is a piece for advanced Harp players. Starting with a main theme of arpeggiated chords, the piece then follows with a number of variations, including chords, arpeggios, glissandos, and numerous nuances and speed variations. The piece starts in Allegro moderato, then evolving to Allegretto, Allegretto Scherzando, sometimes more energetic or quieter. This piece is great to master speed, flexibility and agility as well as the different types of nuances. Marcel Tournier (1879-1951) was a French Harpist and teacher. A Carol Symphony Hely-Hutchinson’s best-known work is composed in four movements. The first Adeste Fideles is arranged in the form of a Bach Chorale with brass taking the Vocal lines and Strings skittering underneath. The second movement gives God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen’s minor tonalities a Russian feel. The third uses the Coventry Carol and The First Nowell as its base with particularly haunting harp theme. In the final movement Here We Come A-Wassailling appears as well as a fugal rendering of Adeste Fideles. Victor Hely-Hutchinson was a child prodigy who went on to have a successful career as a conductor pianist and accompanist as well as a composer and wasmostly known for his works on the theme of Christmas melodies and his settings of children’s nursery rhymes.
