Ring to the Lord Handbells

Commissioned for the 2020 Handbell Musicians of America Area 5 Spring Festival_x000D_ in Louisville, Kentucky, this piece starts open and stately before launching with_x000D_ rhythmic energy into a Bluegrass-infused toe-tapper. It brilliantly pairs the_x000D_ Freeman Lewis hymn tune BOURBON (?I Take My Refuge in the Lord?) with a_x000D_ Daniel Teasley hymn of similar assurance. Marts, mallets, plucks, ring-touches_x000D_ and more are sure to excite your concert audiences and congregations alike; and_x000D_ the optional band (fiddle, tambourine, bass, and guitar/mandolin/banjo) may be_x000D_ added in any combination for extra charm!

Brass handbells Score & Parts-The text of this majestic anthem is based on Isaiah 40 and Psalm 121. The text begins “The Lord is the everlasting God the Creator of the ends of the earth God does not faint or grow weary.” After this statement aslower calmer section ensues with children's voices singing “Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength and soar.” The five octave of bells ring throughout. Brass ensemble consists of 2 trumpets 2trombones and tuba.

SATB-With a light dance-like quality this new John Leavitt offering is joyous. The supportive accompaniment underscores the singable vocal scoring. The melody is sweeping and the anthem ends with an appropriate flourish. Add theoptional handbells and percussion for an uplifting anthem of praise.

A mass in the Revised Roman Ritual. Classically conceived, but featuring elements of Brubeck's jazz idiom, this dynamic mass can be performed in many different ways including with a jazz ensemble, as a concert piece, for church service, or its individual pieces could be used in non-Eucharistic worship such as Vespers and other celebrations. The work is set for soloists, chorus, piano accompaniment, and optional handbells and celeste.
