This piece was commissioned by the Musica Viva Music Society and its premiere took place on 22 VIII, 2001 during the final concert of the Fifth Lubuska Camerata 2001 International Chamber Music Festival. Since its inception it has enjoyed great popularity and hasfound a place in the repertoire of many violinists, including Kaja Danczowska, Patrycja Piekutowska, Krzysztof Bakowski, Pawel Kuklinski. It comprises three movements played attacca: 1 Lento 2. Allegro 3. Molto lento. The first movement has the nature of a nocturne - Lento - in which the singing, lyrical theme in the violin sound is accompanied by extensive sound planes, forming a slow, static course. In contrast to this, the second part is virtuosic - Allegro in which vibrant movement dominates with sixteenth notes and syncopated rhythms. The shortest of all, the nostalgic third movement, has the character of free improvisation on the violin; in terms of orchestral texture it is a reference to the first part.

The ballet ??Les Fêtes d'Hb? deals with the talents that are usually the subject of the Opra and are placed at the service of love on stage: poetry and declamation (1st entre, La Posie), song and harmony (2nd entre, La Musique) and finally dance and choreography (3rd entre, La Danse); hence the alternative title of the ballet ??Les Talents lyriques?. In this ballet opera, Rameau consistently gives priority to the female roles. The prologue glorifies Hb, the goddess of youth, and her alliance with love, while ??La Posie? praises the poetress Sappho, who sings almost throughout, and ??La Musique? concentrates on the omnipresent princess Iphise; finally, ??La Danse? has as its main character the shepherdess ?gl, who excels in dance and song.Since the premiere, the text of the libretto has been perceived as rather unbalanced. Rameau compensates for these poetic shortcomings with musical boldness and innovations of the highest order. Be it the overture that throws Lully's model overboard, the varied choral movements such as that of the Thessalians ??Que jusqu'au fond de nos grottes profondes?, the virtuoso arias such as Sappho's air ??Un jour pass dans les tourments? or the magnificent monologues for Iphise and Tirte ?? the originality and beauty of the music testify to incredible ingenuity.Audio sample on Youtube
