Every Royer R-10 delivers the sonic excellence, flexibility and durability that recording and FOH engineers know they can expect from Royer, but at an easier-to-handle price point than most expect! The R-10 is a passive, mono ribbon microphone designed for use in the studio and on live stages. Hand-built in our Burbank, California factory, the R-10 is exceptionally rugged, handling SPLs of up to 160 dB @ 1 kHz (!), and its compact size and mounting system allow for flexible, unobtrusive positioning. The R-10's 2.5-micron aluminum ribbon element (same as in the legendary R-121) is formed with our patented direct-corrugation process, and is extremely well-protected by a 3-layer windscreen system and internally shock-mounted ribbon transducer. The R-10's built-in windscreen provides superior protection from air blasts and plosives, while also reducing proximity effect (bass buildup from close micing) so guitar cabinets and acoustic instruments can be more easily close-miced. The internally shock-mounted ribbon transducer isolates the ribbon element from unwanted vibrations, decreasing rumble and increasing the ribbon element's durability. The transducer is even wired for humbucking to better reject electromagnetically induced noise! The R-10 utilizes a David Royer custom-designed transformer for high overload threshold, minimizing saturation at even extremely high sound pressure levels. You'll never overload an R-10! The mic's open grill design minimizes standing waves and associated comb-filtering effects and its smooth frequency response, phase linearity and lack of self-distortion make it ideal for all digital recording and live sound formats. The R-10 is truly an excellent tool for recording almost any sound source you can think of!

EUGENE ONEGIN, based on a verse-novel by Alexander Pushkin, is Peter Ilyitch Tchaikovsky's (1840-1893) best-known opera. The story depicts the life of the titular Onegin, a Russian dandy who does not understand himself, his emotions, or the value of life, leading him to reject an impassioned declaration of love by a woman he looks down upon and instead pursue the fiancée of his friend, who he kills in a duel as a result of this pursuit. The provincial WALTZ, brought here to a higher level of sophistication by Tchaikovsky, is performed at the ball honoring Tatyana's name day at the beginning of Act II. This orchestral work has found a popular home on the concert stage and outside the full opera. Instrumentation: 2+Picc.2.2.2: 4.2.3.0: Timp: Str (9-8-7-6-5 in set).

This is the bizarre and fantastic story of the boy Jacob who is transformed into a dwarf with a huge nose by an mysterious fairy. He spends seven years in the fairy's palace, and during this time becomes a marvellous cook. The years go by as in a dream, and he does not imagine that he is in truth in the body of a loathsome dwarf. When he sees his parents again, they do not recognize him. He is mocked and rejected by everyone. But Jakob is not disheartened! He has to protect himself and survive setbacks and tests until at the end of the story he regains his true form. Zwerg Nase, based on the fairy tale of the same name by Wilhelm Hauff, is a story which gives courage and hope. It is a story which tells of self-confidence and friendship. There are the animals in the fairy's palace, who stand alongside Zwerg Nase, and above all his girlfriend the goose Mimi who is herself an enchanted maiden and is saved from the oven by Zwerg Nase. Mimi knows which magic herb can give him back his true form. And everything turns out well in the end. The text and music convey the magical content of the fairy tale in a playful, yet convincing way. The libretto is catchy in its verse and rhyme, comic ideas alternate with touching and atmospheric passages. Classic and contemporary elements mix together in the setting, oriental borrowings stand alongside rhythmic pieces such as boogie-woogie, tango, and waltz. Written for chorus and solo voices, the Singspiel is suitable for children and young people from 6 to 14 years. It is about an hour in length. Bring the Passion Story and its impact to life through moving music and Pamela Stewart’s compelling narrative: from the euphoria surrounding Christ’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem to the desolation of the lonely Garden as He fully embraced God’s plan and ensuing death; from the genuine love conveyed to His faithful followers in the Upper Room to the loneliness experienced in His final hours as those same followers rejected and abandoned Him; from the anger that filled the hearts of those who now called for His crucifixion to the tender resignation of a Roman soldier that this indeed was the Son of God; from utter despair as He died on a cross to triumphant joy as Christ’s followers began to realize that His prophetic words had become reality. All of this and so much more happened within a single week! Combining the compositional talents of Lloyd Larson, Faye López, R. Kevin Boesiger, Larry Shackley, Molly Ijames, Mark Hayes, and Pepper Choplin, this inspiring cantata provides an unforgettable worship experience. It can be used in segments for use throughout Lent or Holy Week or performed in its entirety. With options for choir and piano alone or the addition of either a live orchestra or the accompaniment tracks (available separately), Hallelujah! What a Savior! is a powerful resource for choirs large or small.

Bac h's Cantata BWV 69a of 1723, which has remained largely unknown to the present day, is now available for the first time in a practical edition with this Carus publication. It has been unjustly neglected as it was overshadowed by the Cantata BWV 69 of the same name, a piece which Bach reworked to celebrate the inauguration of Leipzig Town Council in 1748. On that occasion Bach re-used the parts from 1723 for simplicity, and adapted them for the new use by means of cuts, alterations, and additions - something which certainly did not mean that he rejected the 1723 version. This version can readily be recovered from the parts of 1723, if we explore beyond the alterations of 1748. With its rich wind instruments and great opening chorus, the 1723 cantata is in no way inferior to the later festive music in terms of musical splendor. The text takes the Gospel reading about the healing of the deaf and dumb man as a reason for praise and thanks for God's good deeds. In contrast to the later version, in which God is thanked for the wisdom of the Leipzig authorities, the original version of 1723 is free of such contemporary references, and is suitable for use in worship and concerts in many different ways. Score and parts available separately - see item CA.3106900.

To strive for the highest in art - these are the words with which Franz Schubert announced his A flat major Mass in 1828.
ISBN 9790004211779. 10 x 12.5 inches.
To strive for the highest in art - these are the words with which Franz Schubert announced his A flat major Mass in 1828, a work which he designated as Missa solemnis in his autograph. Alone the genesis of the work shows the importance which the composer placed on this work. Schubert wrote the score between 1819 and 1822, an unusually long period of time for him. He later fundamentally revised the mass when he applied for the post of Vice Court Kapellmeister in Vienna, which he did not obtain. After this disappointment, he rejected his original intent of dedicating the mass to the Emperor or Empress. Thanks to Peter Jost's Breitkopf Urtext edition, Schubert's Missa solemnis once again adds its luster to the publisher's catalogue: Breitkopf & Hartel published its final version in the Schubert Gesamtausgabe in 1887.
