The Teacher's Handbook for Levels 3 & 4 of Music for Little Mozart's serves as an aid in curriculum development and daily lesson planning while providing information related to teaching young children. The suggested lesson plans provide teachers with a starting point to adapt this series for their own teaching situation. A special section provides helpful teaching tips for using the Music Discovery Book and teacher examples for the ear training pages in the Music Workbook are also given. Beginning teachers of young students should find the handbooks especially useful.

Lesson Book 4 is the last in the Music for Little Mozarts series. After a review the new concepts taught are: Flat and sharp sign; Tie; Crescendo and diminuendo. After reviewing C position and Middle C position G position is taught. All three positions are used alternately throughout the rest of the book with flat and sharp notes incorporated. When the student is finished with Lesson Book 4 he/she moves either into Alfred's Basic Piano Library Prep Course Level C or Alfred's Premier Piano Course Level 1B.

Instrumentation: Vln?Pf Editor: Cliff Eisen Format: Sheet Music Details: This projected complete edition of the MozartSonatas for Keyboard and Violin has been researched and prepared by Cliff Eisen, one of the most distinguished Mozart scholars of our time. Professor Eisen recognises that many of the apparent inconsistencies and idiosyncrasies of Mozart's notation are perfectly deliberate, and that the attempts in many other editions to impose uniformity upon similar phrases or musical paragraphs can be misguided. As he writes in the preface: '?the notion that the classical style represents a model of symmetry, balanceand clarity is for the most part a 19th-century fiction?it has little to do withMozart's actual practice, which is based primarily on variety of both content and articulation. So in this new edition, alternative readings found in parallel passages are preserved, rather than being sterilised by a spurious quest for conformity. Naturally all such instances are noted within the Critical Commentary. The highly individual beaming within Mozart's autographs is also respected in the new edition, as this often contributes to our aural perceptions of phrase structure and accent. Professor Eisen is conscious that there is no single 'Urtext' for this music. On the contrary he believes that 'there is compelling evidence that Mozart's later performances of his works were characterised by changes ? sometimes substantial changes ? in the musical text'. It is the achievement of this edition to indicate how far this freedom of musical expression can extend, andas such it is likely to take pride of place in the collections of all those involved in the study and performance of these masterpieces. Based on Robert Schumann. Neue Ausgabe sämtlicher Werke, Band II/3. Par SCHUMANN ROBERT. The Fairy-Tale Narratives (Märchenerzählungen) for B-flat Clarinet (ad libitum Violin), Viola and Piano, Op. 132, belong to the few Schumann works that were composed, revised and published in a short time: composed in Düsseldorf, at beginning of October 1853, the new composition was already offered for publication to the Breitkopf & Härtel publishing house on 3 November and printed in February 1854. Composition and publication of the Märchenerzählungen were accompanied, though, by difficult times, the final days before the composer was admitted to the psychiatric clinic in Endenich. The work’s reception lies in the shadow of the last creative period: The pieces were associated with his life’s darker phases and were very little played. The Märchenerzählungen transmit Schumann’s single work for this unusual piano trio with viola and clarinet. The only well-known earlier example in this setting at that time is Mozart’s “Kegelstatt” Trio K 498 (composed in 1786).
