Hymns , and Spiritual Songs —featuring the Concord Worship Choir & Orchestra, under the direction of Pastor of Worship Jeff Lawrence, and arranged and orchestrated by Tim Paul. Seeking to create inspiring music to penetrate the hearts of every generation, Tim Paul has eloquently crafted these beautiful songs of rich legacy and grand tradition into fresh, new masterpieces of worship and praise. With prayerful consideration and inspired by the multiple generations represented in his home congregation, First Baptist Concord in Knoxville, TN, Tim felt the call to write arrangements that would infuse new energy and life to a set of familiar songs carefully selected to minister to his blended church family. Now, Word Music & Church Resources is bringing this special collection of songs from the church, straight to you and your church! It is our desire that by sharing, with churches everywhere, this new project from The Concord Worship Choir & Orchestra, that you too will be inspired and encouraged to share these powerful and moving arrangements with your choir, church and community…songs from the church, to the church! Featuring new and unique arrangements of well-known favorites such as Nothing but the Blood, Because He Lives, It Is Well, How Great Thou Art, and more, CONCORD WORSHIP SINGS is filled with vibrant and powerful moments of worship…enhanced by soloists, worship leader improvisation, and congregational participation. PLEASE NOTE: CONCORD WORSHIP SINGS features a Live Recording. As such, you may notice some bleed between the different stem groups on the Stem Mixes. Also, due to the nature of a Live Recording, the .wav files in the Stem Mixes package may not be completely isolated as they would be in a studio-recorded project.

This exceptional collection of 41 truly beautiful airs and ballads from the British Isles offers both well-known tunes by the prolific blind Irish harpist, Turlough Oâ??Carolan and rarely heard melodies by anonymous composers; all have stood the test of time. Arranged for soprano or tenor recorder, these include Oâ??Carolanâ??s classically influenced â??Lord Inchiquinâ? and â??Eleanor Plunkettâ? as well as â??O Gentle Doveâ? and â??Cuckoo Dearâ?â?? both examples of the strong tradition of song in Wales. Among other tunes, the haunting modal melodies of â??The Dark Slender Boyâ? and â??Enchanted Valleyâ? express the melancholic heart and soul of the British Isles.A few of these songs have taken on a life of their own in modern times. â??Bonny at Mornâ?, a popular traditional tune of northern England and Scotland, was arranged for soprano voice and harp by the 20th century British composer, Benjamin Britten. â??The Skye Boat Songâ? originally recounted Bonnie Prince Charles Edward Stuartâ??s journey to the Isle of Skye after his defeat at the historic Battle of Culloden. Later, the song evolved into a lilting lullaby and was more recently used as the theme song for the popular Outlander television series.Departing slightly from recorder notation practice, author Marcia Diehl has judiciously arranged these melodies complete with spare slur markings to aid the amateur player in authentically and musically rendering these tunes.

This beautiful collection by Irish composer Liam Lawton reflects the haunting beauty of his own Celtic tradition and carries with it the hope of future days for all people. Ancient Ways, Future Days includes songs of hope, songs of tears, and songs of inspiration for the seasons of the liturgical year, all with a definite Irish flavor! Liam's bright, joyous version of the Magnificat features a strong, uplifting refrain that practically sings itself, while the haunting Celtic strains of Psalm 21: My God, My God create a pensive mood to begin Holy Week. Pieta: The Silence and the Sorrow is a heartfelt song with a stirring vocal solo for Good Friday services. Let Every Human Heart is an uplifting piece, perfect as a closing song during Lent. Ideal for the responsorial psalm or communion processional at funerals or memorial services is the emotional The Lord Will Heal the Broken Heart. As the title of this collection suggests, these stirring melodies will remind us of the wealth left to us by past generations, while uplifting lyrics are certain to inspire us to constantly seek the Lord of future days!

Mezzo-Soprano & Piano Duration: 17' Composed: 2014 Published by: Amy Mills Music, LLC These three art songs can be performed independently or in sequence, at any time of the year. Stuart McAlpine’s profound text explores three men from the Christmas story, Joseph, the Inn-keeper, and Simeon. The creative and beautiful musical settings allow for powerfully dramatic interpretation and performance. To Joseph (who taught me how to look at art) The singer sings to Joseph, …you beheld a work of art, the making of a holy heart… and watching through Joseph’s eyes, when hung at last, its meaning was decreed. (4:40) The Inn-keeper’s Lament McAlpine brilliantly explores the possibility…what if the inn-keeper who turned away Mary & Joseph later became the inn-keeper who accepted the injured man brought in by the Good Samaritan? This powerfully dramatic piece depicts the Bethlehem inn-keeper’s bravado, Caeser’s decree was heaven sent, as guests raised glasses, I raised rent! But as the enormity of his mistake became apparent, in later years he bemoans, …if I’d known then what I know now… and finally declares at the end, I know now! (7:50) Simeon’s Last Prayer Simeon sings of being summoned to the temple where he holds his infant Savior. …then as grandfathers do, rejoiced as if he were my one-and-only too. As he leaves he whispers his final prayer, …dismiss your servant, to find You face-to-face. (4:30) Difficulty Level: Baritone/Mezzo-Soprano 6 (Professional) (Baritone Range: low A (optional low G) to high F# (optional high G,A) (Mezzo Range: low A (optional low G) to high G (optional high A) Piano 6 (Professional)(Same level as Debussy or Ravel) See also the version for Baritone Voice and Piano See composer website for audio sample.

The lilting, Irish-influenced melody brings us an ancient text to life to inspire us today. You may wish to alternate soloists or choir sections on selected stanzas for variety.
