Concertato on SINE NOMINE. Composed by Ralph Vaughan Williams. Arranged by James Chepponis. Ascension, Trinity Sunday B, OT 11 A, OT 14 C. Choral. Tune Name: Sine Nomine. Sacred. Octavo. 12 pages. GIA Publications #5133. Published by GIA Publications (GI.G-5133).

UPC: 785147513308. English. Text by Sylvia Dunstan.

A truly favorite tune sine nomine is seldom sung because All Saints usually falls on a weekday. Sylvia Dunstan wrote a fabulous Ascension/mission-ministry text for that tune, and now Chepponis has dressed it up in splendid style using some of the Vaughan Williams material and a lot of his own touches. Since Ascension is now most often celebrated on a Sunday, one would do well to check this out. The choir parts are optional. Percusssion is for suspended cymbal.

Festive arrangement of a powerful mission hymn. Text by Sylvia Dunstan.
